AFFORDABLE TREE SERVICES

The Owner showed up for an estimate on Monday 5/12/2014. He had alcohol on his breath and gave an estimate of $450.00 for 4 hours work which including chipping and shredding the brush to do the job and come back in a week and a half to do the job. They showed up next day 5/13/2014 while we were not here and started the job without us knowing they were even at our residence. They took down both trees and cleaned up. They were very nice while here talking to us, they even brought along two females with them who sad and watched them and used our patio furniture and swing while here. The owner preceded to drink a can of beer while watching his crew work. My husband asked him not to drink the beer while he was here and the boss told him he was not the one cutting so he was okay. My husband still told him he was not happy with his choice to drink while here. It did take them 2 hours longer to do the job because their chipper/shredder was not working so they had to haul the brush to a location and unload twice while doing the job. When the job was done at 8:30 pm he asked for money. My husband told him the banks were closed and he would have to wait until the next day. The owner asked if we had any money we could give him until then and my husband reminded him that we were unprepared and were not expecting them for more than a week from now. The owner still asked if could give him anything to which my husband said no again. My husband told him they would have to wait until around noon when he planned to go to the bank and that he would call them and they could meet him at the bank. The owner asked if $750 was a fair price. My husband brought up that they had agreed on $450. He said he didn't plan on it taking extra time and my husband brought up that it wasn't our fault that they had to haul stuff away because of the shredder not working. The owner agreed to $500.00 They showed up at 8:30 am the next day asking for the money. My husband said they would have to wait until 9 when the bank opened. They followed my husband to the bank and he paid them. The owner again asked for more money out of the goodness of your heart that they did do a good job. You agreed they did a good job but you also agreed to the $500.00. They shook hand and parted ways
