I purchased the Big Deal through Angieslist - $199 for 750 sq ft of mulch delivered and spread. I contacted the company through multiple channels - angieslist messaging, direct email (provided on the voucher), and by phone. I never received any response from them after multiple requests to solidify the date for the service to be performed.

They are supposed to cut the grass once a week, which I have no complaints about. They have also sprayed the grass which is fine. They have not done the spring clean-up though that is contracted to be done. Also, they sprayed the weeds in the front of our house but they never cleared them up. They told my wife that they would spray it then come back the next week to clean them up, however they did not do this. I called him several times about the spring cleanup. He does not return my calls. He spoke to my wife yesterday and said he'd call back, but never did. They also have broken the fence gate in our back yard and never told us in addition they have chipped some wood on the fence. The edging around the trees and flower beds has also not been done. My wife finally spoke with him today and he said he would adjust our bill and pull out some bushes and spray as a make up for not doing the spring clean-up. Unless their performance gets better, I will be calling someone else next year.

On May 1st we were told that the lawn clean up which included weeding, trimming clean up of the flower beds and mulching would be done by Friday, May 8th. On Thursday, May 7th I sent an email to them and he indicated that if he could get a crew for Saturday it might be possible to get our yard done, however, if not it would be done by the end of the following week. On May 19th I sent an email asking if they had us on their schedule, no response. On May 21st I sent a follow up email asking that they be totally transparent with us and if they can't do the job then just let us know so we can get someone else. No response. I am concerned since we have signed a contract with them but we haven't received a response to just go out and get someone else. I am not sure how this company has gotten a great score on Angie's list!

I can't commend this service enough. After I purchased the deal I interacted with the provider and asked that they delay their service till after May 1st because of the amount of rain we had. So we agree on 5/13 Due to a mix up they the morning of the 14th. Actually the owner came to help because of the day delay. They were so very professional and interactive with me when I had any questions. The mulch was of a superior quality. And it was laid beautifully with no cleanup of any consequence. Though they took care of that as well. And even pulled down a splintered limb on my maple tree I could not reach. I thought the service was actually more valuable then the amount they charged. Because it included great mulch, service, and delivery of the mulch. I have had other providers in the past none of which were as good;, provided as good quality mulch( and actually had enough to do a generous layer) as well as meticulously laid it and cleaned up. .

I contacted Ground Guys for an estimate for landscaping. They visited my home and I asked about the possibility of a one-time mow for my lawn. I was told that the price would normally be $30, but my lawn was overgrown so I would be charged "a little more." I made the mistake of assuming that "a little more" would mean that I would pay around $40 or so. I received the bill today and discovered that I was charged $70 (plus tax) for a "double mow." I can assure you that the people mowing did NOT mow twice. It may have taken a little longer to mow the tall grass, but they did not do a double mow. I am angry and upset that the quote of "a little more" than $30 would mean that I would pay almost 2 1/2 times the cost that I was quoted. The people mowing did a good job, but it was not at all superior to the job done by other companies in the past. By the way, I did not use this company for landscaping because the quote they provided was hundreds of dollars more than a competitor.

Service was great and the quality of job even better. They were one day late from the scheduled but not a big deal. The job took them one and a half days but they were courteous, professional and thorough. Our yard/beds look fantastic.

Two days after buying the coupon, I emailed the company (since they hadn't reached out to me within two days as the coupon purchase receipt indicated). I then called twice and left messages. A week later, I got a call back from the company indicating that they would bring the mulch the following week. The week came and went, no mulch. I left another phone message earlier this week. No response. I have no idea what's going on with them, but I will never try to use them again.

I first called Josh to inquire about a landscaping service that he does not perform. He asked if I had any other needs that he could help with. I mentioned that all other projects were on hold until we had our back patio worked on in June. He said he does patio work/design and could take a look to see if he could gain our business. Josh came out and walked me through the process; he was very nice and was full of ideas. After that first meeting it seemed to go downhill. When our first meeting ended Josh advised that he would get me a quote "within a few days". 3 days later I sent him an email to see if he had it completed...no response. 2 days had past since the email so I followed up with a text, he responded to that with the answer that he was still working on the quote and will get it over to me "soon". Another week has now passed and still no quote. I figured I would try one last time with another text message to which he responded. Josh said the quote was done but he wanted to schedule a meeting to go over the quote in person as this is his preference over emailing a quote. The meeting was scheduled for Monday at 8am which I rearranged my schedule for as did my fiancée so that we could both be involved in the decision/design. Monday at 8am rolls around and Josh was a no show. No text, no call, no email. At 8:30am I texted him to let him know we couldn?t wait around any longer and would be leaving. I asked him to email me the quote due to the inconvenience to which he agreed in his text response (which did not include an apology for wasting our morning). It is now 2 days later and I have not received the quote and Josh isn't returning calls, emails or texts. We have obviously decided to go with another company who was respectful of our time and quick to provide information. As nice as Josh was during the first meeting (which he initiated and asked for), there was zero follow through. If this is how their sales team works I can only imagine how the actual job work go. I strongly encourage homeowners to consider other options ? from our experience The Ground Guys are more hassle and time then it is worth.

My initial contact with the provider was very quick. I bought my deal on March 31st. The provider contacted me through Angie's List and we arranged a time for him to come evaluate my back yard. Our meeting on was April 10th. We discussed the evaluation plan, what I would like to see, and we even talked about doing a yard clean up. The meeting was good and I felt pretty good about using them. The person I met with was the Sales Manger. After our meeting he said that he would have a plan/quotes out to me by the end of the weekend (I really wasn't expecting anything until Monday). On 4/14/15 I sent a note and summarized our meeting with had and asked that he break down the quotes in 3 different priority buckets. I also reminded him I had already paid for the evaluation so I would need to see that also. On 4/20/15, I still haven't heard from the Sales Manger so I sent another note and asked that he would send me the quotes for the work I wanted done and also the paid evaluation. I stated in my letter that if my job was too small or if they were too busy to let me know and I would find another company. On 4/22/15 I received a note from the Sales Manger and he apologized and said he was out of town and would send me my information that same day. 3 days past and no word or quote still. I sent one more note out on 4/24/15. I have not heard back from the the Sales Manger since that. I think it is really bad when a company can not keep their word. Even worst when you paid for the service up front. I really was excited and was hoping to work with a yard company that seemed to be good. I read some of the comments and although they had the same experience, I decided to give them a try. Now I see why. There is now way this company should be rated with a grade of an A. The plain disregard and poor professionalism should not be acceptable. Their company values/mission statement is: "we live our codes of values by making only agreements we are willing, able and intend to keep." I think they missed the boat on that statement. I'm truly disappointed!!

They answered my call on Friday within the first few rings and came out on Sunday because my mower was still in the shop. Great diamond cut and clean up.

I was not contacted by the company after purchase and after a week I reached out to the company which routes you through their national call center. They called the local franchise manager and I heard back from him the next day letting me know an approximate date they would come out and also letting me know the service would be delayed due to weather (we had just received a lot of rain and I understand this). I also asked about the type of grass seed they use and the owner said the employees would evaluate my grass and recommend the best type for my lawn. Then the owner sent an email to follow up. I asked him to notify me one day prior to service and he said he would. I received an email from the owner on 4/15/15 letting me know they would be out on 4/16/15. By the end of the day on 4/16 I had not heard from the company and called the owners cell phone and left a message. I then called the phone number which routed me though the national call center again. They said they would put a note in the system for the owner to call me. On 4/17 I had not heard back from the company and I called them again around noon. I was going to apply fertilizer after the overseed and needed to know when they would be there so I could make my schedule fit. The national call center said they did not have any notes in the system from my call a day earlier and reached out to the company with no success. They were very apologetic. Finally around 4 pm the owner called me and told me his employees were in my neighborhood and would finish my house by the end of the day. Two young employees showed up a little after 5 pm and i asked them about the seed they were using. They did not indicate they had different types and they were unable to tell me what grass I had in my yard but just that most of the area has the rye grass/ blue grass mix. This was contradictory to what the owner told me. The two employees completed the aeration and overseed and left. After they left i noticed the aeration was not completed properly. My lawn was aerated every other row, and not every row. Additionally, there was very minimal seed put down and it not appear there was any in some bare spots on the lawn. I am very disappointed in this service. I understand the delay due to weather but when I finally received service I it was not quality as only half of my lawn was aerated and the seed was a light application. I do not feel i got my moneys worth.

After coming out the first time with the wrong instructions of what was ordered for our property (on a Friday), they left and said they'd be back on that following Monday to do it. They did not show up on Monday. I called later in the week, and the manager called me back and apologized saying they would be out the following week. They were. The guys that came were very kind and professional; however, they only aerated our lawn. They were also supposed to over seed our lawn. They did not. So we paid 99 for aeration only. We were disappointed.

Purchased 3 treatments through Angie's List. No phone calls or email returned, no service ever provided. Why bother running specials and then not responding to customers wanting to do business? What a joke.

Initially reached out to The Grounds Guys of Westerville on 04/12 via Angie's List messenger. I received a response on 04/14 stating "We will be in contact soon!" I did not receive an update so I called on 04/16. I spoke with Justin who took my address, phone number, and email address and told me he would visit my home the same day and provide me a quote for service. He did not visit my house or provide a quote on 04/16. I called on 04/17 and left a voicemail to get some clarity on timeline for quote/service. I did not receive a response on 04/17. I received a call back and voicemail on 04/20 apologizing for the delay and stating I would have a quote that same day, or 04/21 at the abolute latest. I did not receive a quote by 5pm ET on 04/21 so I texted the number provided. I was advised I would receive a quote that same evening, 04/21. It is now 4/24 and I have yet to receive anything from this service provider. This is a terribly unprofesional way to do business. If you are too busy to help potential customers, you need to set proper expectations.

I saw the Big Deal on Angie's List but wanted to find out more information before I paid for the services. Namely, did someone come out first to see the condition of the lawn; what the extra fee would be if we needed more than 750 sq. ft, etc. I went to their website and filled out the information for a quote/contact us. I received an email on the 14th (I think it was the same day I had queried the website or maybe the next day) stating a representative would be contacting me "shortly" to get more details and schedule an appointment if necessary. So I waited, and waited, and waited. I'm still waiting - well, not really, because I would not hire them now if THEY paid ME. I'm sure they're busy as this is landscaping season now, I get that. But the LEAST a company can do is contact the customer and let them know if they are backlogged and when the company will get back to them. I don't care how busy they are, it is bad customer service to indicate you will contact someone and then never do it.

They were really good. You can give them all 'A's. They had sent an email out and said when we had a better part of the week of good weather, so they were going to come out and try to do that and they just showed up one day which was fine. They did a good job. We also had them last year and they did a nice job.

Above date field would not allow me to enter multiple dates be we used them all summer. We were pleased and we are using them again in 2015.

They were verygood. I had them work in the front yard and they sent 2-3 workers.

I emaield and called the company multiple times. I received an email responce from my first inquiry but when I called the comapny back they never responded.

I had a Big Deal. There was no additional charges. It was ok. There were spots where the grass was burnt from the fertilizer.

This project started with mulch in late July,2014, then ended in October. Also maintained leaf removal in the back until leaves were done falling in November. My backyard was a horror. It was always a bone of contention with my husband and myself. He had previously built 2 beautiful ponds, a bridge connecting them and a small deck out in the middle of the yard. We had trees removed and the company ruined the bridge and then the ponds leaked afterward. He was such a nice guy he did not go after them for damages. He had failing health thereafter and the yard just got out of hand. He had an unfortunate fall and passed away last April, so , in his extraordinary memory, The Ground Guys and myself created this masterpiece called my backyard. The other part of their business (Rush Home Improvement) built 2 new decks that are attached to the house and totally replaced all the exterior wood on my screened in porch....just BEAUTIFUL. Justin Rush and I worked together with all aspects of this design which included the pond, the type of walk-ways (they dug up, cleaned, preserved and reused all my very large and beautiful pavers). They worked with me and hired Russell Tree Removal to take out and/or thin all the trees (we had or still have over 20 trees). Justin consulted me and guided me into choosing shrubs, plants and small decorative trees to plant. The best part of the tree removal...I HAVE GRASS!!!!! I am not listing the pricing as it is personal and I do not want to post. Call Just Rush, give him your number and he can call me to call you for a reference. I would HIGHLY recommend this company and Rush Home Improvement!!!

They came out and did the 3 applications that I prepaid for through a special on Angie's List. Then I called in Mid October to have an additional fall fertilization applied to my yard. They said they would get back with me. I waited two weeks and called back. The receptionist said someone would call back to schedule the application. I even talked to the owner and he promised to be out the following Monday. But never heard from them again. I believe this company is severely understaffed.
