NO LIABILITY INS & did a whole house renovation which went bad. . Worked without Liability ins. after the bank Okayed him to do the project by proving he had ins. but he either canceled and or never made his first ins. premium so by Oct. 2017 he was uninsured. So he had to loose his last drawl from the bank to be able to have the master shower re-built & pay a plumber to repair the damages because he did not have ins. to pay for the damages that he did due to negligence. Had to totally rebuild the Master Shower due to Missed slaughtering 2 joints inside the wall - and mildew forming under the bench seat after barely a month of use. Kitchen Ceiling needs repaired from water leak and Hardwood flooring has gaps and the sub flooring is showing through out the entire lower level. This flooring was $11,900 and we paid him in the renovation to install the flooring . The people he used installed it in 2 days and did such a bad job it squeaks in one area and the grabs are horrendous. Installed the in sinkerator switch to garbage disposal on the seam of the quartz deliberately. Dishwasher screw is stripped & Microwave not installed correctly it speaks when you push the buttons. . His cousin while installing hardware missed and put an extra hole in the cabinet kitchen door. Brand new Haas cherry wood cabinets. Almost the other cousin almost fell through the master bedroom ceiling while installing smoke alarms and had to repair an 7' X 9" section in the ceiling. Used our Island the granite counter top to stain a banister and put polyurethane on the leathered finish island service and the fabricator had to spend about an hr. removing it. The Master shower granite seat was only attached with 1 bead strip of clue. When shower was removed it had already started to mildew and was wet on the seat and wall below the seat. Grab bar was never installed HE REFUSED as per contract and he forgot to put a support beam to attached the bar to it so that is why he never did it.. Tile by baseboard in the laundry by the window is cracked. No GFI per code was installed in Master Bathroom as inspector told him to do.. 1 of the Painters was using Southern Comfort on the job supposedly for a tooth decay. Carpet in hallway was pieced together and pieces ran the wrong way so you can see the patch work. Clogged the 1/2 bath brand new toilet by accidentally leaving a rag in the drain pip. Was just him and his 1 cousin pretty much during the 7 months outside of subbing out the drywall and painting and laying the flooring and relaying the carpet to the upstairs hallway. His other cousin who is retired came a few times. Carpet pad is mess-up and has a huge lump under the carpet. Cracked a switch plate and did not replace it. Drywall people used rusty nails to hang drywall. Just a mess all around and was an all and all awful ordeal. Switch bate ceiling installation and bathroom sink without a change order. Just so much hard to touch base on everything. Below is my write up I did a year ago. I tried to recap everything above. A renovation gone bad- Started Sept. 25, 2017 - April 10, 2018 Poor workmanship ! his subcontractor laid over 1,000 sq ft of hardwood floor in 2 days back in Jan. 2018 and the excessively gapped at nose & tongue throughout all floors and nails stuck in corners on some slats Giving this workmanship poor to where the option now is to either soft fill all gabs without a guarantee that it will last and the better option is to replace it. This was a cost of material at $11,900 Hickory hardwood flooring we bought outside of this project and would now cost another $19,000 to replace it , remove & replace it due to this workmenship. The dishwasher was installed incorrectly somehow for a screw keeps popping out and creating a situation where you can not close the door and run the dishwasher. Had already been tighten twice! It will happen again for this needs to be looked at and a solution to fixed it correctly. The microwave was installed not right to where it Squeaks every time you touch the control panel even clear across the entire panel it moves and squeaks. 1/2 bath the faucet cold water handle is not installed correctly for the handle moves at the base portion that is suppose to be tight against the granite. The hardware to the half bath the “pin” to lock the door when you are using it was on the floor today and it appears the lock was not installed correctly. He told me that you have to manually pull the pin out to unlock the door. I told him no you are suppose to be able to just turn the knob and it will unlock. The masterbath is awful mess to where it needs to be basically be rebuilt. Many many of the tile pieces are cracked the grout is awful the plumb lines are way off and the shower leaks down into the floor and water goes into my light fixture above the kitchen sink and then onto our my kitchen sink counter top. Had to call a plumber and they cut a hole and found 2 not 1 but 2 missed joints that where not saughtered . A big miss! Cost dearly for that mistake. The subcontractors that was used to hang drywall used “nails” that appear to be rusty. Very odd and strange. Why nails were used to hang drywall over screws not sure why. And why a brand new frame & drywall has rusty nails that was used. Painter using Southern Comfort so they said to relieve a tooth ache. The workers had no insurance for medical care abd putting trash exam: Banana peels in my brand new Cherry wood cabinets. Biggest problem was the Contractor worked on this huge job without Liability insurance. Optained the insurance though long enough to land the job and supply this piece of paper to our lender and Gahanna for the first 18 days of being on the job then the ins. Was canceled! Why do not totally know. Made us go 2 months without hot water . Worked other jobs while doing our job. Only works on this job himself and his 2 cousin. But did sub out the flooring of laying the hardwood floor only, painting/ staining wood, hanging drywall. Contractor had a hernia surgery and did not notified us he would be basically out of commission for 2 weeks. Had his 1 cousins come in to hang hardware that week. The other cousin sick with the flu worked ever day in the house trying to do the best he could. Did not do “change orders” and then wanted another $19,000 more at the end of our job minus a $4,000 credits without any change orders in place outside of 2 written ones and 2 verbal ones. . We asked him to produce these for us which we are now now 4 weeks later and still nothing to prove these extra charges as being accurate charged. This was a job quoted Out for $177,000 and that was without the appliances in this equation and the hardwood flooring cost of material that was bought by us 1 year prior to this renovation. Bogus Charges for things he was not even charged for and did not give credit for product that was due by dropping the glazing on our cabinets which was a 15% upcharge if we had done that. We backed that out to off set any unforeseen possible changes. Had wood delivered from the mill to our home under our job but would then removed wood product early morning hours for others jobs so it seemed. Oddly pieces were being removed from our home and not accounted for. All speculation but strongly believe he Blow a kitchen faucet right out of the countertop like a bomb because he did not let air out of the water line 1st before turning the HOT water on. But said it was a faulty faucet. No proof but I know what really happened. It Chipped a piece of my back splashed tile they had to replace it in my back splash. And they scratch my quartz in 3 areas that the fabricator had to fix for us. They used my granite island counter top as a work bench while staining and Polyurethane My bannister and putting glass in a door to my cabinet. The got polyurethane on my leather granite island that took the fabricator about an hour to remove for me. A cousin while contractor was off due to hernia surgery drilled 2 holes in a brand new cherry wood door “Haas”cabinet for my hardware my accident. Had to have SurviceTech fill and repair the extra hole hole. While putting smoke detectors in all the bedrooms which it code his cousin almost fell through our master bedroom ceiling. This was the week he was out due to hernia surgery. Had to repair very long section and rematch the ceiling print. Did not paint the ceiling. That is our responsibility. Only painted 1 wall in our bedroom the other 3 walls was not into contract plus our furniture was too heavy to move. So now we have 3 walls gold and 1 wall grey in our master bedroom. He had a leak in my main bathroom toilet was leaking. It was not leveled correctly and had to use plastic shims to level it. Never seen clear plastic shins before especially to level a toilet. Had my brand new Toto tornado toilet clog up so many times in our half bath that he had to remove it then re-install it. Never did find out why it was clogging. Even with just toilet paper would clog it. Bought a new bigger plunger too which would not unclog it. Still a mystery as to the whys? He removed a outlet and put a dead plate over it until after electrical inspection then switched it back because they did not want to put a ground outlet in . This was in the main / Hall bathroom which was not to code. They installed laundry room and refrigerator outlets up side down to where the cords stuck up and my husband switch one around and then he did the laundry room themselves. He had the cabinet company lie and inflate our cabinet cost that was sent to the lender. He lied to us many many time on numerous thing . He did not order our tile and plumbing fixture until late Dec. which caused our time to need to ask for an extension for more time for the material was not coming in fast enough. He would lie to my husband face to face about being here one early morning hour to count how many outlets he needed and then would not show back up for 10 days without the outlets too. In the mean time we had to live with my daughter for 6 months because he did not have a bathroom completed. He would switch out products without a change order in place . He did it on our 5 bathroom sinks and instullation. These are the many many reasons why we would never recommend him to anyone.
