We couldn't be happier with the work that Dan Hoehnen and his son Tyler did for us. They suggested the new hardware we needed, acquired most of it for us (we got the new TV ourselves), installed all the stereo stuff, using our existing speakers, which saved us quite a bit of money, wired and mounted one new TV and moved two others around to different locations. They ran into some [not unexpected] networking issues and they worked on them until they figured out how to fix them and stayed until they got them fixed. They also spent quite some time training us on the new Control 4 system and how it can be used to control both music and TV in four different locations in the house. They have also been very responsive to a couple of fairly small difficulties we've run into since the initial installation was completed. We highly recommend Custom Automation Technologies, Inc. and highly recommend them for any AV or other home automation anyone might be considering.

Dan Hoehnen did a terrific job of installing a new 11-station intercom system to replace an existing system that was worn out. He arrived on time, was exceedingly professional and got the job done perfectly!! I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for any kind of home theater, surround, audio or other electrical/technological items throughout their home!

Cannot say enough good things about these guys! On time, pleasant, and overall great service and follow up too. And if you leave a message you'll get a prompt call back. We had some problems with our internet & modem that affected equipment that they had installed and Dan took the time to help us with that as well and get things back up and running. dan is a very smart and professional person. He made one trip out to diagnose the problem then sent me information on what he could do to fix it. I liked that he gave me a couple options to choose from and told me the price on both. you can his expert opinion and he gives you advise on what would probably be the most effective solution.

Dan, owner of CAT, made his recommendations with consideration for a spectrum of price points, and suggested that the most expensive choices were NOT necessary, based on the size and acoustics of my room. He then suggested that I purchase the TV at a retail outlet, as I could get a better price there than he could afford to do, based on mass marketing price breaks. He then delivered the accompanying components and installed all in an existing furniture cabinet. The changes to the cabinet were done neatly and with no external change or damage to the furniture. I will use the company in the future for all my electronic needs and will recommend to anyone that they consider CAT for their needs.

Dan, the owner, came out and installed a sound bar in one room and also troubleshot and solved a sound problem in our home theater. We had no sound in that room and he found the problem in just ten minutes. He did the proper installation of the sound bar as well. He gave a fair price and did the job correctly. I will definitely call him again to hook up my sound system wherever I move.

As usual Dan was professional, pleasant, and prompt. He and his assistant were great to work with and did the job well. I would recommend his company to anyone.

Dan took my call very promptly and assisted in finding out what part we need for the theater speaker, ordered for us and replaced the part. We are happy with our experience with Dan.

They quote me over the phone over 1K and did not bother to come to my home to see it. They told me they could not do it in the next 2 MONTHS!!! are you kidding me? I guess they have too much business. They should stop paying Angie's list to be on top. They do not need more Angie's list costumers.

Great! They have ability for online bill pay which is an added convenience.

It went fine. They were very helpful and did everything I asked. He explained what he was doing.

I called the company looking for some guidance with a fairly complicated home lighting/automation/stereo system installed in our new house (old house but new to us) by previous owners. The documentation i had was limited and incomprehensible, at best. Dan Hoehnen (the owner) called me back and we worked out a consulting agreement. He came over this morning, and together we figured out how to program the system (which he didn't install and does not frequently install that brand). He showed me how to program, and then even lent me a couple of his devices to allow me to continue to map out the system and program the remainder of the system myself. I am sure we will hire CAT again in the future to help us with the A/V system in the house.

They did a great job. He took his shoes off because it was the middle of winter. He laid his tools on a blanket. He was a great guy and professional. He involved us. He made sure that he set it up and we were getting what we wanted before cutting any holes. I recommended him to anyone. He gave me two options. The option that he suggested saved me about a hundred dollars.

I rarely use the word excellent. However, when it's accurate and well deserved I feel the need to share this information with other consumers. Simply the best. Thanks Dan for allowing us to experience and enjoy our home in another dimension. I highly recommend Custom Automation Technologies.

The whole process from start to finish was outstanding. All too often today, hiring a contractor for any type of work in one's home can be a crapshoot, at best. No need to worry with CAT, Dan and company are top-flight ! Excellent communications (re: scheduling, project scope, recommendations, etc.) have been maintained at all times, pre- and post- job, and working with Dan and his associate Mike the day of the install was both informative and enjoyable. Dan and Mike have many years of experience in the field, both personal and professional, so they will definitely be able to meet your needs no matter the scope or scale of your project. Finally, all work was done in a timely, professional manner, and they were neat and respectful with regard to one's home. I will definitely not hesitate to use CAT again in the future, and am in fact considering a distributed / multi-zone music system already.

C.A.T. was one of three businesses invited to propose solutions to my A-V problems. Dan, owner of C.A.T., was chosen to be 1 of the 3 based on his outstanding record with Angie. He responded promptly to my call, visited with 24 hours for "recon" visit, proposed phase I work which he did a few days later, then proposed phase 2 work, which involved my purchasing new equipment for him to install. All along we had frequent email contact regarding his recommendations and plans for next visit. I worked along side Dan, as his assistant, and enjoyed my time with him. He is totally competent, does whatever is needed to complete job, fast worker, and respectful of your house. The total cost of my project done by Dan was less than half of the written proposals from the 2 other businesses.

They were excellent. They were outstanding. They came out the day of our move because we needed some advice while the movers were here so we would have a sense of where things needed to go. Then, they told us that they would be out within the week and they were. We have used them more than once. I highly recommend them. They were very, very good. The price varied because we had quite a few things done. They did a great job. Their professionalism is just excellent. Everything was just outstanding. We really appreciated what they did for us and were very, very pleased.

Dan was a pleasure to work with. He promptly responded to our request for an estimate, and the estimate was reasonable. He was able to schedule the work at a reasonable time, and then was punctual in keeping the appointment. The work was done as expected with no issues. A professional experience from start to finish.

Dan and his partner arrived at our home promptly for the first visit for an estimate. They made recommendations on which Audio system to use and how best to installed it in our home. They also provided different options for installing our TV on the wall in the basement. We have Superior walls, so it was not a standard TV install. After the initial estimate, Dan was able to find lower priced equipment, so the work was completed under the estimated price. During installation, Dan took the time to ensure everything was installed properly. He was also very patient to ensure we understood how to use our new audio system. We ran into some problems with the Amp on the Audio system after installation. Dan promptly came back to install an upgraded AMP at no additional charge. We were extremely pleased with their professionalism and finished work. We are enjoying our audio system (and TV) and would highly recommend Customer Automation Technologies!

I used Angie's List to locate Dan. I read the blurbs that people had written about companies and chose Custom Automation Technologies because someone else had the exact thing happen to them and Dan was able to solve it. Dan is the owner of the company and he is the only person we dealt with. He was easy to talk with and didn't talk over our heads like a lot of techies might. Our system is still working fine and we are enjoying it immensely thanks to Dan.

Overall, the experience with Custom Automation Technologies was great. Dan is very good at responding and following up with his customers. There was never a doubt that he was going to make it right for me.
