Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Value I had Von Deylon redo the all of my copper plumbing in my home to PEX and move my washer and dryer over to the other side of the basement as I am remodeling. They cut a hole into my foundation in the basement to install a vent line that was way to long per code and it was flex piping with no insulation. All this did was hang a foot down from the ceiling causing my dryer not be able to vent. All the water went back into my dryer and caused my clothes not to dry. I called them out for warranty work and they came out told me my dryer was the issue and it just needed cleaned out. So, i listened and cleaned out my dryer and my clothes were still not drying. (Which ended up frying my dryer and cause it not to work anymore.) So, I got another dryer and it did the same exact thing. So, I called them again to have them come completely redo it cause obviously is not working. They came out next day and quoted me $1,100 to fix it!! They refused to redo it under warranty, even talked to Randy who is the owner who was very rude and told me he is stepping away from the job. They did a very poor job of installing all my my PEX as its not straight doesn’t look presentable at all. Ended up painting everything black with a sprayer to hide all the nonsense. I could have done better myself and I am not even a plumber. Would absolutely NOT recommend this company to do any work on your home as they do the bare minimum. Not to mention I supplied ALL of the materials, PEX, fittings, pipe, etc for the job and they still charged me $3500 to do the job!! Very expensive and definitely not worth the money. If you hear anyone that wants work done please inform them not to go through this company, as they will do the bare minimum, and not do it the right way. Then wont even fix what they did wrong! There is a lot of other bad experiences that ive had with this company during the same project but to long to list. Just take my advice and DO NOT use this company. Thank you for reading.

After they cut off their auger in my drain, they told me to call another company who they said could 'jet' out the drain. I called them and they said they couldn't unclog the drain because of the cut off auger. They said I needed a new line and it would cost $4200.00. I called the plumber from Von Deylens and he said it wasn't his problem. I called his boss and he said he wouldn't pay to repair the drain, but he would refund $663.00 for the first drain cleaning. I told him that since they made the drain cleaning impossible they should at least pay part of the repair cost. I asked him for $1200.00, which he refused. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The response from Von Deylens through them was the same. I rejected their response. We are currently at a stalemate and are considering other options. I am willing to provide my reports to the Better Business Bureau to Angie's List upon request.
Description of Work: Von Deylen was called to unclog a drain. It was after hours on a weekend and they came right out. They cleared the drain and said other pipes related to the drain cleaning needed replacing. I agreed to having them replaced. Work was done a few days later. They were paid. About a week later the drain clogged again. They were called again. They attempted to unclog the drain and jammed their auger in the drain. They couldn't remove it and cut it off. They told me to call someone else.

Response from Von Deylen Plumbing & Heating Inc
We originally cleared the drain line at the member’s rental property on July 23, 2009. We met with his representative and he was present when the work was done. We removed tree roots and feminine products from the exterior drain and our technician made a not on the paperwork the drain line was very old. Our technician also noted he cleaned a large amount of sewage out of the basement. On April 20, 2012 our technician responded to an after hours call at the member’s request. The service call was for drain lines leaking in the basement. Upon his arrival the interior drain lines were leaking sewage on the basement floor and our technician found the exterior drain line plugged. Through the member’s representative, our technician quoted the drain cleaning work and replacing the interior drain lines in the basement, the member was contacted, and the repairs were authorized. Our technician cleared the exterior drain line that evening removing roots and feminine products and made arrangements to return on April 25, to complete the work. On May 2, 2012 we responded to the rental due to a plugged exterior drain line. Our technician spent 5 hours trying to clear the drain but was unable to. With his last effort to clear the drain, the auger become stuck in the drain line. We used all of our resources trying to remove the stuck auger. We recommended calling Tressler Plumbing to see if they could use a power jet to try to clear the drain and/or replace the drain. Tressler Plumbing advised the drain could not be power jetted and the drain line would need to be replaced. Our position is roots cannot grow in a drain line unless the drain is broken or collapsed, which allows the roots moisture and fertilizer to grow quickly. The roots growing in your drain line are not the result of anything we have done wrong. Unfortunately when this occurs we have no way of knowing the severity of the problem. The only solution is to replace is to replace the drain line so the roots can not continue to grow. The problem at this house is growing roots in the drain line which has been occurring for years. While it may be true our cable has become lodged in the drain line; the fact of the matter is the drain needed replaced prior to us performing any work. The first step in determining this is to attempt to auger the drain. Since the drain augering was not successful the next step is to replace the drain line as recommended by both companies. You are asking us to pay for drain line damage caused by roots that have been growing in your sewer for years. I believe you offer to refund the total drain cleaning cost of $663.00 is more than fair. The other work you are referring to is not relevant to the drain cleaning. Sincerely, Randall L Fisher President

We had used them for a previous job two years ago wherein they re-did all the plumbing. However, we are not sure if we would use them again as we found out that some of the things were not done correctly when they re-did the plumbing. They were very expensive. They did the work on a timely basis. We found out from the other plumbing contractors that those things should have been done differently. It was not like their work was shabby or anything like that but it could have been better. Their personnel were very nice. Their price was high.
Description of Work: We have used the services of Von Deylen Plumbing and Heating Incorporated a month ago for plumbing. They worked on our sink and did the servicing of some things for which we had contract for.
