Fencinnati did a terrific job.

It went well

David Campbell, owner of Fencinnati, did not even start the work and he has not refunded my $2000.00 deposit. As David said in his text “... our contract does not state any given time to return a refund, FYI” So if you decide to enter a contract with Fencinnati, know that they can keep your deposit without doing the work as long as he is “trying his best to refund.” BEWARE!!! His excuses for not giving our deposit back are included in the following narrative. On April 3rd David Campbell came to my residence to give me quote on a deck I needed to be build according to our Architects plans. At that time we went through the architect's drawings in detail. We agreed that they would do the project for $4k plus materials. They would order the materials and I would pay the lumber company directly. We gave them a $2000 deposit in order to get on there schedule for May 24. I called on April 8th to double check on the how we were to pay on the materials I had spoken to a friend who was in the deck building business and he said that he never heard of customers paying the lumber company directly since most builders have an account with the company and give a discount. Dave assured me that he does this with his other customers and there is no problem. Dave called me on May 15. He said that he was at McCabe lumber ordering the materials and needed to know what color we wanted the deck to be. I told him that we didn't want trex that we wanted to use treated pine. He said okay. I asked him when I needed to pay McCabe Lumber and he said that I would pay when the materials are delivered. I asked if they would be able to deliver the materials by Monday the 24th of May he said that they would dig the holes on Monday the 24th and and have the inspector come on Tuesday to inspect the holes. That would take a day or two. On May 24th, David and his crew from Fencinnati came to the house. I spoke with David over the phone and he told me that after looking at the plans more carefully, they would not be able to build the deck according to the plans. He said that the architect's drawing were not up to code. I told David that the deck plans had already been approved by the engineers at the City of Cincinnati and they had given us the permit to build that way. In fact, we would not pass inspection if they did not follow the plans. He said they would not build it because it would not last and they would not put their company name behind a bad build. I told him that he had agreed to build the deck according to the plans back in April when he came to bid. He offered to redesign the deck and build it according to his plans. We went back and forth and finally decided that he would give me my deposit back if he would not build according to the plans. I needed to pass inspection according to the permit that was issued. The 1st check he said he mailed did not arrive. On June 14th, he text me that he had just gotten back in town and said that he would come out on Wednesday the 16th and would "drop off some cash". I told him that I wanted a check or $2000 so that we would have an official document of the transaction. On June 16th, he said that his appointment out my way cancelled. The check was returned to him because his partner put wrong address on it. I told him I could go get it from him and he said he had already written a new check and mailed it. One week later we got a check. The check was dated June 17, (not the 16ht when he said he mailed it) and the postmark was June 23. We deposited the check and it bounced. He texted me on Tuesday the 29th to see if I got the money. I told him the check bounced. He said he would bring a cashier’s check on Wednesday the 30th. He did not show and did not contact me until Friday July 2nd. He texted that the bank, 5/3rd, had mixed up his personal account with his business account and he would bring me a cashier’s check on Wednesday the 7th. I told him that if I did not receive a cashier's check kfor $2000 on Wednesday the 7th, I would file a report with the Cincinnati Police Department. On Tuesday the 6th, Amanda, his wife, called me and said that their business partner, Tom Baker, had embezzled thousands of dollars and they were hiring an attorney to get their money back. She said I could contact Tom Baker to try and get half of my money back. So who knows when I will get my $2000 back. I finally got my deposit back on July 21st

Tom and Scott did a great job replacing our stairs and deck. They fixed problems created by our original contractor and walked us through all the steps. They came in under budget and Tom even offered to return our unused material to Lowe's to get us a refund. Overall we are happy with the craftsmanship. Would hire again.

David and Tom did a great job translating my crude drawings into a beautiful custom fence on a challenging job site. Didn't feed me a line of BS like some other estimators. Have hired twice now.

I did a good job replacing my rotted back porch roof underneath the shingle roof where it had gotten wet replaced it all fair price showed up on time got the job done.

David Campbell did everything that he promised to do and deliver. Thus, the new privacy fence project went very well indeed! He submitted the most reasonable estimate for the project in comparison to his competitors. To top it all, David was able to pick up his lumber materials quickly and started the work on the same day that the materials were purchased. When all the posts were done, the railings and picketts were done quickly. He used materials according to industry standards. I am a customer full of questions and David was patient enough to answer all my questions. How ever little the project is, David managed to deliver quickly on the complete installation of the new privacy fence as discussed. I am happy with the result of the new privacy fence project! He actually showed up in a timely fashion and did a great job, I am trying to give him additional work . Wonderful work at a fair price!

Fencinnati was a great company to do business with. David was friendly and punctual and we were able to get on the schedule quickly to get the work done. We are very happy with the finished product!

We thought David Campbell was a handyman however to our surprise he is a real craftsman an expert in his field and worth every dollar he bid, I also believe he can do more than decks and fences with great results.

David from Fencinnati was wonderful. I asked for a quote on Angie's list and he was the first to respond. He was able to come out the next day to give me a price and two days later the job was finished. My deck had several boards that had rotten of the years and he was able to replace and repair so that my deck is sturdy once again. He was very friendly and cleaned up afterward job was completed. I liked the work he did so well I hired him to put a porch railing on the front of my house. Beautiful. Once the budget allows I will definitely have him back to work around my house on other projects I want done.

Great customer service very informal and upfront about any kind of changes or things that could go wrong but did great work in a timely fashion
