I hired Mario Celli on a recommendation from a friend. I liked him, his price was fair and he could do the work in June, 2008. They did the driveway and it looked fine. They accidentally dumped a load that spashed up on my house. They never mentioned it until I complained about concrete on the brick and the siding. It actually hit the awning over my side door (probably 8 foot high). They cleaned everything up the next day and it was fine. I paid him upon completion of work. It looked fine to me at that point. However, 6 months later when the snow melted in January of 2009, I noticed that there were major crack in a one third of the large concrete squares. In addition, there were areas where the concrete was flaking off. I immediately called Mario and asked him to call me, or to take and look and then call me. No response. About 6 weeks later, I called again. He did not answer, I left a message. No response. Repeated process one more time. No response. On May 27, 2009, I sent him a certified letter that I know he received (I actually got confirmation from the postman who delivered it with written verification). I sent pictures and a letter. No response. On July 2, 2009, I made a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They contacted him and as of today, he has not responded to them either. I think it is important for us to tell good stories when people do a great job. I also lthink we should let other consumers know when there are people who don't stand by their work, who don't respond, and who do inferior work. In 6 months, my driveway looks old, cracked, and flaking. My guess is that the concrete itself was bad or perhaps it was poured too wet. I have been told by another reputable concrete man that there were other problems with the driveway and the way it was done. A great deal of money spent for inferior work by someone who won't even return a call!!! Don't ever use him or his company!!!
Description of Work: My driveway runs from the street in front to the rear and then fans out to a double garage. The company removed all the blacktop and replaced it with concrete.
