I have a rather long driveway and they were able to pour a brand new one. They also colored the concrete. I was provided color samples ahead of time to pick which one I wanted. They were very careful with the work. They did 2 sealings and I had a 3rd sealing done a month later. Someone had walked across my driveway after walking on an asphalt driveway and got a sealant on it leaving tar marks. J.C. Concrete really did the research to make sure the product used to remove the tar wasn't going to harm my concrete sealant.
Description of Work: J.C. Concrete poured new concrete for my driveway.

My husband and I had a poor concrete experience with another company, so we were very clear about our expectations that the concrete NOT delaminate. A former company sealed the concrete incorrectly and our driveway crumbled. Jamie Cummings was fixing parts of that other company's work. He assured my husband that his company would never let that happen and that they had a warranty on their work and would stand by it. Now his work is doing the same thing and his company is most certainly not standing by the work. The concrete is not holding up. There are multiple places where the concrete has "delaminated." We were told it was due to salt and not their problem. We have never salted the areas near our entryway that are affected. When I told them that, I was basically called a liar. We also have a lot of other concrete around the area (that is salted during winter) that has not been affected by salt and is in great shape. We were told that they cannot guarantee that the concrete they pour is of any quality, only that they will pour it right. They have pointed fingers at everyone else in the supply chain, but refuse to take responsibility upon themselves to ensure their suppliers are held accountable. They will not guarantee a quality product or stand by their work. In fact, their customer service is so poor, I was told I would need to research the chemistry of concrete and then present them wih proof that they are responsible. I paid the check to their company, so they are responsible to figure out where things went wrong and go after whatever supplier provided them with a faulty product...that is not the customer's problem. Rather, they are saying they can only be held responsible for the actual pouring of the cement, not the products they use. They used a car analogy and said to me that it was like I bought a car, scratched it, and now wanted the car company to fix it. I don't see it that way. To stay with the car analogy, I see it as a recall. Honda doesn't say sorry your accelerator sticks...that's not our product. They back it and repair it, and then go after whatever manufacturer is responsible for the problem. I believe a company has to stand by its suppliers as well as its service. If the supplier gave them a bad product, they should fix the work and then go after the supplier to recoup the losses.
Description of Work: We had our driveway widened, ripped out other concrete that was crumbling, and added a cement rounded front step at the entrance of our home.

The concrete pad itself turned out okay, but they destroyed part of my yard while putting it in. When I contacted them, they said that I should have realized that there would be some damage to the yard and that they would not be responsible for any of it. I told them that I could understand the grass being flattened or some patches of grass missing, however I did not expect there to be deep ridges left in my yard (that are still visible six months after they were here). They again refused to do anything about the damage, and they even refused to drop drop off a bag of grass seed.
Description of Work: Had them pour a 16 x 16 concrete pad for new hot tub
