Unbelievably well. They weren't necessarily the absolute lowest price, but they were in the ballpark, and I'm SO glad I went with them. The proprietor, Roger Brewer, is so kind and patient and explains everything very well. His son-in-law Jim was my foreman (really just two guys doing the painting anyway), and we felt very comfortable with him. My wife and I both felt they were painting the house as if it was their own. Incredible attention to detail, a willingness to work with us as we changed a color or two (it's never quite what you think), and lots of apologies for the weather (as if they can control the rain). I would recommend Roger, Jim, and all of Davy Painting to ANYONE in the Columbus, OH area, without reservation. You may have to wait if they get busy or it rains too much, and you may pay a tiny bit more, but it is completely worth it if you want a job well done. P.S. If you need any wood trim fixed -- and we did -- they'll recommend a guy named "Josh." Take that recommendation. That guy is fantastic as well.

The owner, Roger Brewer, came out and did a thorough inspection and spent more than 30 minutes explaining what was included and the cost of additional options. He also provided me with several hints so that I could more accurately compare competitive bids (things like the quality of the paint, number of coats, whether or not general priming or spot priming were included, etc.). It is worth contacting them just to get a lesson in how paint contractors quote painting jobs. The crew that I had included Bill (the foreman) and Chip who had worked together for more than fifteen years painting houses. They were extremely easy and pleasant to work with. I had a few special requests that they accommodated. Throughout the project, both Roger and Bill communicated with me to let me know their work schedule (because it was early spring there were interruptions do to the rainy weather). I was never surprised and I knew what was happening every day of the project. I would definitely hire them to do a painting project again.

We will undoubtedly be using them again! They did a great job painting the exterior of our two story house. Roger provided us with a reasonably priced estimate and explained everything in detail. Jim (Roger's son-in-law) and his team did the painting and were extremely easy to work with and did a fantastic job. Our house looks great and updated! Highly recommend!

I called Roger of Davy Painting and other company, he was the first one who returned my call. He made an appointment to come out and look at our job. We have old aluminum siding on our house and garage that was desperately in need of paint, especially the trims exposed to the weather. They did an excellent job preparing both structures to be painted with power washing and caulking. The entire crew, Jim and his son worked very diligently and a few long days and got the entire job done before weather turns cold. We could not be happier with the quality and service of this company

I called Roger of Davy Painting, he quickly returned my call and made and appointment to come out and look at our job. We originally asked about painting our barn as well but after meeting with Roger he recommended waiting a few years since the paint on the barn was in good shape. This saved us thousands of dollars. Roger kept in close contact as our job approached. When it was time to start our job we heard from Josh who ran the crew as often as necessary to make sure we were aware of when they would be working or if there were any changes in the schedule. We have cedar siding on our house and garage that was in need of paint, especially the sides exposed to the weather. They did an excellent job preparing both structures to be painted with power washing and caulking. We were so pleased that we ended up adding the inside of our garage on to our job and they completed this as well. They entire crew worked very diligently and a few long days and got the entire job done in less than a week. We could not be happier with the quality and service of this company.

I can't recommend these guys highly enough. I vetted five painting companies, and only Roger Brewer (the owner) cautioned me against painting our vinyl windows. He also gave me great advice about what to look for in choosing a painting company, what questions to ask, and how to evaluate the quality of the work. He was very generous with his knowledge and completely honest with me about the plans we had for the house. Every member of the painting crew was top-notch: personable, professional, hardworking, and meticulous. True professionals, true masters of their craft. Best of all, the final result is amazing. Beautiful job, everything cleaned up, all hardware and fixtures replaced. They're going to work on our deck next. Followed by our neighbor's exterior . . . . A+++++.

This is the second time I have used Davy Painting for the exterior of my home and I could not be more pleased. From start to finish the job was handled in a timely and professional manner. The rainy weather caused some painting delays but I appreciated the Jim and his crew would rather wait for dry conditions than just slap some paint on and hope for the best. I feel like Davy Painting takes extra care in giving you a long lasting (it has been 7 years in between paint jobs) and quality paint job. Jim and his crew are completely trustworthy and respectful of my property.

I was apprehensive at the start of the process, due to a previous bad experience with a "high volume" painting company that did exterior painting on my previous house in a neighboring state. Basically, the surface preparation had been inadequate, which led to numerous problems with paint adhesion, and ultimately required the intervention of Angie's List to get some kind of satisfaction. As a result I had particular concerns re surface preparation and use of subcontractors, which seemed to be the key elements of my previous problems. I met with and received the estimate from owner Roger Brewer on 8/28/14. Due to weather, work started c. late October and continued into December. A few things could not be completed due to cold weather, and primarily due to my own scheduling difficulties, I had the work completed in June 2015. I was very pleased by all aspects of my dealings with Davy Painting (note that this is the Davy Painting addressed in Greenlawn Ave in Millersport). All my dealings with Roger and the crew were straightforward and honest, with a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction. The painters, including Roger's son-in-law Jim (who was excellent and subsequently did some interior painting for me as well), were regular employees and not subcontracted, and all of them were more knowledgeable and attentive to detail than anything I'd experienced in the past. I should note that the original estimate of $8300 was below most of the 3 other bids I solicited, however it did not include a considerable amount of carpentry work that was needed, which some of the bids included. Basically many sideboards on the house required replacement, along with replacement of rotten trim around a number of large windows. Taking that additional work into account, the total cost was approximately $14,000, which was generally similar to or below the other estimates which included the wood repairs. In summary, I was very satisfied and would highly recommend Davy painting to anyone.

Roger Brewer's chief painter, Jim, did a great job for us. He cleaned up and communicated with us on a daily basis. He was very careful and very particular about the work he did. The job involved painting as well as removing some wallpaper and extensive patching (Our house was insulated from the inside and there were holes every few feet that had to be patched.).

Roger's team are very professional. I am impressed with how neat & clean their work is - not a single drop of paint on the floor - speaks for their experience. The crew is very experienced with 10+ years so not someone who just began in the industry. The pricing is competitive. We will be engaging Davy painting for exterior & other projects in future & would not hesitate to recommend them for your job.

Prompt response to request for estimate, owner gave good information, good communication throughout the project, polite workers, work site was cleaned up daily, job was done well. Fair price.

Roger was straightforward and clear about the job from the beginning. We discussed what I wanted done, and although the quote was not detailed, everything I wanted was completed expertly, and then some. They even powerwashed the concrete entranceway, although that would not normally be part of the job and another company (understandably) wanted to add an additional fee to do that. The quality of the job was excellent - Jim and Forrest took extra time to get good coverage on all surfaces, without any mess or overlap. The house looks great! I would definitely hire them again. I got several quotes for this, and while theirs was not the lowest it was well in line with the others, and I didn't want the lowest bidder anyway. Very reasonable price for a really, really nice job. Definitely recommended. (Note this is Davy Painting, Greenlawn Ave. Millersport - I have no experience with the other Davy Painting company.)

Roger is a very helpful and responsive owner. They take pride in their business and stand by their work. He came out to give us a thorough estimate and had some tips for what to look for when getting quotes from other companies. We had them paint the exterior of our house last fall. It seemed to take them awhile for them to come out and actually paint after we signed the contract. I did contact them late in the season so they didn't come out until November. Most of the days they painted it was nice weather but a couple of the days it seemed too cold or moist to me. But he backs up his work so I didn't worry about it. Our front door was in bad shape since it gets a lot of sun. Jim did an excellent job scraping it and repainting. It looks like a new door. They did a nice job scraping our trim which was also in bad shape. And the men that came out were very respectful and friendly. After the winter and spring we noticed some peeling on the stucco they had painted. I contacted Roger (and again it took awhile to come out) but his team came out and power washed all the problem areas and repainted everything. It looks great! Not sure why the peeling happened but they took care of it.

I contacted Davy Painting last fall to get an estimate to have a new fence stained. I was told that it was really considered a side job and Roger's son-in-law, Jim, would contact me for an estimate. Jim and I met up and I received a price and a promise that they would work me in sometime in 2015. Due to the frequent rain and bad weather, it took longer than we first thought to have the work completed. This was no fault of Jim, who kept in regular contact with me. He came out in late June and power washed the fence, which he had to do prior to staining it. Jim and Alec showed up on August 14th, as promised and worked most of the 14th and completed the job on the 15th. The fence looks much better than we expected and we were glad we hired professionals vs. trying to do the job ourselves!

Roger Brewer was very thorough in explaining what they would do and how their crew worked. Rain delayed their prior painting work this year but we had calls to let us know the estimated date. From the time they started they worked whenever the weather permitted. They were careful to remove (and at the end replace them) items attached to the house. e.g house number & mailbox They also replaced a number of shingles and other pieces of wood. They primed the house before painting and were very good about answering any question I had. Would I hire them again? I already have --for an inside job, which they also do.

I received several estimates, however I decided to use their services because of the explanations they gave about what would be done and the attention to details they would provide. They were able to schedule the job right away. They arrived promptly as scheduled, performed the services and cleaned up afterwards. The paint job was excellent and everyone was professional.

Bill and Chip did were friendly, courteous, and did an excellent job. Quality of work was excellent as was the clean up. Great job, would definitely use again.

Project was performed as described and with quality workmanship. Very happy with result.

This is the second time I have used Davy Painting in the 25 years we have lived in the house. We have an older, two story house in Clintonville. Roger, the owner, kept in contact with me as he scheduled his painters, and notified me the evening before if rain may postpone their work the next day. They had 4 painters over a 4 week period to complete the house. There was some delay due to rain over the four weeks. The crew showed up on time every morning, were courteous, and cleaned up at the end of the day. We have a lot of trim and windows, and their attention to the details were key. Both Roger and the his staff were always available to answer my questions and provide me with updates as the work progressed. It was an overall good experience and great crew to work with. I would hire them again.

They did a superb job starting with the the on-site estimate- with ample opportunity to discuss concerns and options, and make choices about how to address areas that needed additional work. Jim has a great eye for detail, and pointed out many facets of the job that he would do. There were some minor changes in start time that were fully understandable given changing weather conditions. Jim arrived on time, and did the entire job himself. From the moment he arrived, he was courteous, treated this house as if it were his own, and took great pride in the work that he did. The house turned out beautifully. The job included a detailed walk around after word to look for small details that were addressed, and to let us point out anything that might need to be attended to before parting ways. He did it a truly beautiful job. The price was very competitive, and the quality was flawless. I can only echo the many compliments and accolades that have been mentioned in other reviews. I would have no hesitation or question about recommending Jim and Roger as well is the company to anyone. It really doesn't get better than this. I am German and this job was "goot"! I can certainly see why they have been a best rated company on Angie's list for so long.

I received four quotes for the work that needed completed. Davy Painting was not the lowest quote received but I could not be happier that I followed my gut and hired Davy Painting of Greenlawn Avenue, Millersport, OH. This is a company that has discovered the secret to excellent communication with their customers. So many contractors give you a quote, get the contract signed and then just go to work, unwilling to "waste" too much time communicating challenges, options, concerns, etc. with the customer. Not Davy Painting. Both Roger and Jason stayed in touch every step of the way. Our household includes two active dogs (hence the need to have the recently installed fencing treated) and a four-month-old infant. You could not ask for a more accommodating company to work with. I would receive texts and updates all through the work day, letting me know when I could take the opportunity to let the dogs in the yard for a bit. You can count on Davy Painting to show up on time, get to work, and give you a quality job. I could not be more pleased with this company's professionalism and their concern for customer satisfaction. I was very comfortable with giving Jason access to our garage and hence our home. Very trustworthy and exceedingly respectful of both the customer and property. You can expect great work from this company.
