Davy Painting

They were really helpful. They even helped me pick out the color for the house. One of the guys went down and picked up the paint and had it mixed, got my approval. It was exactly what wanted.

Our experience with Davy Painting was very good from start to finish. Roger was responsive before the job began and throughout the entire project. John and his crew worked every day the weather allowed and finished the job in less than a week. John and his crew were polite and respectful of our house and young family. One of his crew members, James, even remembered the name of our son. It was obvious the men painting our house took pride in their work. At the end of the job, they installed two new outdoor lights and a mailbox. They also painted the floor of our front porch as an added service.

This is a first class painting company. The crew was extremely respectful to my family, kids and property. Hardworking and detailed. It was 90+ degrees out and their work ethic was admirable. We have used a lot of contractors restoring this old home and this was our best experience.

They came out, gave a written estimate stating exactly what they were going to do. They were a little more expensive than other estimates, but they were quoting two coats while the others were quoting only one.

They came out and gave an estimate and gave a lot of good advice. They were very punctual and very professional. They listened to our needs and made an effort to get it done by the day we needed it done. We had a lot of rain and they worked around the rain very well. Everything looks fantastic. We had a specific brand of paint we wanted to use and they had no problem with us picking the paint.

My house has a lot of areas, and once the weather broke, he stayed right with it and got it all done.

Generally I was satisfied. I would have preferred them to do a couple of things a little better. Left outside water running a couple of times. They showed up on time and did a decent job.

They were excellent. On time and very honest about what they were going to do. Were very considerate of the landscaping and other things. No problems with the paint so far.

From start to finish, it was a great experience. Roger came out to give the estimate and was prompt and professional. He was also able to fit me in earlier than anticipated. Jim (the foreman) and his crew were hard working and did a great job. They kept me informed as to what was happening at all times. I highly recommend Davy Painting!

Had contacted several companies to get estimates to paint the stucco on my two story home. The owner Roger Brewer contacted me by phone with the estimate and not only gave me a good price, but reviewed in detail what they would be doing at my home. The painters did an excellent job. Sean was the job foreman and even though they worked a long day he never seemed in a hurry to take time to answer any of my questions or concerns. Having a person like Sean is a real asset to Roger's company. Whenever I ever need the exterior of my home painted I won't need to call anyone but Davy Painting.

Davy Painting was wonderful - one of the best contractor experiences we've ever had in the 12 years we've spent cleaning up and repairing our old house. Their price was very good, they arrived on time and stayed until the work was done. They don't sub-contract! We found the workers to be very nice and their work was neat and clean. We are very picky - they stayed and touched up any areas we were concerned about (very few) until we were 100% satisfied. Hire these guys! We are getting ready to buy a new home and it needs painted. You can bet we will be calling on Davy Painting. Nice job!

Roger and his crew were phenomenal. Roger was prompt in coming to my home and providing a quote. He followed up with a phone call a few weeks later to see if I had made a decision. He provided me tips on "what to look for" in a painting contractor, including a list of questions to ask any others from whom I requested a bid. In addition to the exceptional painting job, I had several sections of finger-jointed wood trim which had either separated or completely fallen off the house. Roger's crew repaired those sections they could (including re-nailing and caulking) and replaced those sections which were beyond repair - all for the cost of materials only! This work saved me over $600 from the quote I obtained from a carpenter. I cannot recommend Davy Painting more highly, and will be calling them again for my next painting project.

I had them come out in June of 2007 and they were excellent. They are very professional. I would use them again.

They did a great job. Their estimate was a little bit higher than others that I received, but because they were highly recommended through Angie's List, I decided to see if the extra money was worth it. I think the extra attention they gave to each room and the neatness of their work was probably worth the extra money. They moved all my furniture back in place when they were done. They were easy to work with.

His estimate was more than double than what I got the job done for.

Very good. Got lowest estimate of 4, and they started 3 days later and finished in 6 days. Very good work on patching and walls that have had heavy paper on for 20 years look like new. If issues came up, Jim Norris contacted me for a decision. They did some extras without extra charges.

John Gore first came to give an estimate. After several false starts he came one day and did some fine work. But then he did not return the next day as planned, and subsequently did not come several more times when he was supposed to. When I called Roger and explained, he immediately had another one of his foremen, Jim Norris, contact me. Jim came and finished the job right away and did an excellent job. He was extremely prompt and professional, and the work he did was first rate. The sun porch ceiling was particularly difficult given it is textured tin, and he took the extra time to paint it carefully by hand and now it looks great.

Roger seemed very knowledgeable about exterior home painting, which is one of the main reasons I went with him. We got them on contract in mid-August and got on their schedule to tentatively begin during the first part of September. The work did not actually begin until late September. The prep for the job was extensive so it took them more than a week to get everything scraped. They started priming in October. Then the weather started turning cold. Roger and his crew decided that the rest of the job should wait until Spring. They hadn't even finished priming when they made this decision! They were planning to leave wood exposed to the elements over the winter! I convinced them to purchase the appropriate additives and finish priming at least. The house was left "splotchy" all winter. They finished the job the next Spring, but many windows were painted shut and storm windows were re-installed incorrectly. I asked for assistance in fixing them, but I paid already so no help was given.

Davy Painting painted the exterior of my house in July 2006. In November 2006, I noticed numerous areas where the paint was cracking on both the rear wall and west wall. I called Davy at that time to ask about their guarantee and request that the areas with cracked paint be repaired. Mr. Brewer returned my call and asked me to call back in March 2007. After two calls in March 2007, Mr. Brewer came out to look at the paint. He told me that he would schedule a crew to come out a paint the cracked area when a crew was available. No crew ever arrived and I did not hear from Mr. Brewer again. The paint on my house continues to crack, both vertically and horizontally, and there are several areas where the paint is peeling away from the surface. I consider the work to be unsatisfactory, considering that I paid $4,100 for this paint job.

They were excellent, thorough and conscientious. They did a good job and I would hire them again in the future.

They always call and come out when they say the will. They painted the entire outside of my house last August (they told me to wait a year for my chimney cap to be painted because it was galvanized). There were a few things around the foundation that they missed. I called them up and they came back out with no questions asked. The foreman, Jim, on the job was great.

Jim and his crew spent almost two weeks completing the job. The house is covered with shingles, and a previous painter had painted the house poorly, leaving paint chips hanging from the bottom of every one of the thousands of shingles that cover the house. Jim's crew spent several days removing every one of those paint chips, and they carefully scraped and prepped all of the trim, some of which had been peeling badly. They did a very thorough job. I had chosen an unusual color for the shingles, and after completing the prep work they painted a section of the house to confirm that I liked the color. All of their work was very carefully done. The windows and doors were very carefully painted and none of the trim paint dripped onto the siding. After the job was completed Jim walked me around three times until I was absolutely satisfied with every detail of the job. By the third walk-around I was pointing out very minor corrections. Jim stated that he would not leave until I was happy.

They bent over backward to get our job done. They were extremely busy but they corrected some of the flaws from our builder, like a knothole in a beam on our new front porch. They filled in holes and were able to correct many other flaws from the builder before they painted it. There were large gaps in our siding that they filled in before they painted. It was a lot of extra work and they fit it in to make us happy. I would use them again.

I chose Davy Painting out of three painters I selected to do an estimate for painting the house. I chose them because they had the best combination of price, professionalism, and honesty when it came to the work to be done. From the beginning, Roger Brewer communicated frequently up until the work was scheduled, and once the work began, was in constant communication with me. The job took 4 days, and the workers were very helpful in working around our schedule and kept the area around the house as clean as possible. The final task was to replace a board on the porch that was cracked, and one of the workers kept in touch with the status of completing that work. The entire job was completed to my satisfaction, and I am very happy with how the house looks. They did an excellent job in cleaning up after themselves as well, and left the leftover paint with us in case we might need it in the future.

More than pleased with their work. The individuals; Roger, Jim, John, Shawn, and Brandon were outstanding. Probably will use them for our interior painting needs in the future.
