I thought the price was kind of ridiculous because my lot is 15,000 square ft. and the house takes up a large portion of that. The front drive takes up most of the front yard which is a very small area to be mowed. I also have a 20 ft. utility clearing for the power company, so I'm not allowed to do anything with that. It's my property, but technically that area belongs to the power company, so I can't really do anything with it and I told them not to bother mowing it. The guy told me that he would send me a contract when he was here, but the whole winter has passed by and I never have received a contract. If he does come around I think I'm going to tell him that I need to negotiate the price down. I realize that gas prices are high, but it only took them 20 or 30 minutes to mow my entire lawn. I think $40 is more excessive when they are probably going to want to do it once every three weeks. My son moved out and I can't do it myself because I'm disabled, but there was a young kid that came over on a Sunday night to ask me if he could mow my lawn. I asked him how much and he said $20, so I said sure. He came back about half an hour later he comes back pulling a push mower and he looked he was underfed. Right away I felt so bad and all I had on me was $25, so when he finished mowing I gave him the whole $25 because that was all I could scrape up. I've never seen the kid back here again, but if he could do it by hand with a push mower for $20 and these guys were riding mowers. They were obviously prompt because they were already here. They were very polite and very nice. They did a good job and I don't have any complaints about what they did. I know that people in the area are very pleased with them because they also do snow removal and our local post office uses them to plow the snow in their parking lot. I think I'll probably have my son-in-law buy me a self propelling lawn mower.
Description of Work: I never called them, but Grasshopper Property Maintenance saw me outside one day and asked if I needed anything done. I told them sure and if they thought it needed to be done before the frost hit to go ahead because it would prevent mold or other things over the winter. They went ahead and mowed it. One of them was on a riding mower and the other one was using a weed-eater around the trees and bushes.
