OHIO CUSTOM CLOSETS

Ohio Custom Closets gave us the best price on installing the closet. The closets look good and the craftsmanship looks good. The customer service, however, is not good. The installers were three hours late to do the work - they said they had a "closet emergency." They also forgot to bring materials to build the shoe cubby we had ordered. So, they then called and asked if they could come by another work day, when it was convenient for THEM. We could not take anymore time off to accommodate their schedule. We ended up getting our shoe cubby a week later, but we had to carry the thing up two flights of stairs ourselves. Finally, they left a bill for the full amount of the work, even though we gave them a down payment for $500. I am still waiting to see how that turns out. And, when I called to discuss these issues with Beverly, who is the designer and our main contact, she did not return my phone calls.

My initial contact with Bev was very positive. She is the one who designed what I wanted and was very good at running interference. The workers were very nice but arrived quite late which I felt affected quality at the end of the day. My new garage and boxes, etc were covered with sawdust and I was not pleased with the finished work. They came back another day to address my concerns. They vacuumed the garage but that only got the major dust, I think they did the best that they could with my concerns about the finish work, but it is not to my satisfaction. If I look up while sitting at my computer, I see adhesive that is uneven and has bumps in it where they filled in a seam. They use peg boards in place of boards without holes and it looks tacky to me. If I were to do this again, I would hire a carpenter. They did a good job on the pantry and I'm sure they do closets well but they are not finish carpenters.

Overall experience very good. We recommend this company. The cost was competitive (we had three bids) but the designs were much better and the quote much easier to understand. The installers were very professional and courteous, cleaned up all mess, removed shoes when in the house and were very punctual. Job was very well done and we love the result.

BEV WAS VERY GOOD TO WORK WITH. INSTALLERS WERE VERY NICE AND WERE ABLE TO ADJUST/MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS WHEN THINGS WOULD NOT WORK QUITE AS WELL AS PLANNED. THEIR PRICING WAS IN THE MIDDLE. BEV MADE GOOD SUGGESTIONS. ONLY THING WE WOULD DO DIFFERENT IS MOVE LAUNDRY BASKETS AWAY FROM DOOR WAY. DID UNDERESTIMATE AMOUNT OF LONG HANG NEEDED. VERY RESPONSIVE TO FIXING A FEW MINOR THINGS THAT NEEDED TO BE CHANGED AFTER I STARTED MOVING CLOTHES IN. WILL DEFINITELY USE AGAIN.

BEVERLY UNDERSTOOD WHAT WAS NEEDED TO CONVERT A VERY SMALL WALK-IN CLOSET TO ACCOMMODATE ALL MY CLOTHES IN AN ACCESSIBLE, ORGANIZED MANNER. SHE MADE HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS I WOULD NOT HAVE THOUGHT OF TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL STORAGE SPACE IN ALL 3 OF THE CLOSETS. THE COST WAS VERY REASONABLE AND THE WORK WAS COMPLETED WITHIN A WEEK FROM PLACING THE ORDER. THE INSTALLERS WERE PROMPT, EFFICIENT, AND FINISHED IN LESS TIME THAN WAS ESTIMATED.

DAY I CALLED HAD NEXT DAY. SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT WAS KEPT AND ANSWERED ALL QUESTIONS QUICKLY. GAVE ME THREE OPTIONS TO CHOOSE FROM.

THEY DID A BEAUTIFUL JOB! COST WAS HALF THAT OF A MAJOR COMPETITOR. THEY USED 3/4" SHELVING (COMPARED TO 1/2") WHICH ADDED STABILITY. I REQUESTED THAT THE CLOSET BE MATCHED TO THE COLOR OF THE FURNITURE IN THE BEDROOM; IT IS AN EXACT MATCH.
