 + -1 moreThey were very flexible and they worked with me very well. They stayed within the budget. They worked with me in finding substitute and other things for that. They were very reasonably priced. One subcontractor that they used which I cannot recommend is Carpet Land.
Description of Work: We used Great Oak Construction. They were the general contractor who put together the drywall and they basically fixed the water damage to our house.

 + 0 moreWork started on May 10, 2011 and the project is still continuing now. They just finished the room on August the 5th but there are still electrical issues. In the past 4 months they probably only worked 12-15 hours. The bill we received was $900.00 more than the original estimate. It was a horrible experience! I would try contacting them and they would not call back. When asked the provider why things were not done that I requested, provider claimed that I did not ask.
Description of Work: Had half of a roof that needed to be replaced and hired to finish a room for us.

 + 2 moreVirtually ALL aspects of the process were handled in a timely, courteous, professional, manner, including the oversight of a professional sub-team who actually did our project. Partners Jay Sams and Jim Wolternman were both involved in pricing and supervising the job. Since this was an insurance-related job for which we are not paying, I cannot speak to the issue of price, but the product, people, and customer service get A+
Description of Work: Our neighbor's insurance company hired Great Oak to repair roof damage our home received in December 2009 when our neighbor's dead tree fell into and through portions of our bedroome and back porch. Great Oak protected our house until weather would permit repairs (not until early March 2010. They supervised the removal of the tree. In March they replaced the porch roof, replaced all of the southern roof from the east-to-west peak and all of the western roof from the north-to-south peak. The replaced the damage siding, soffit, facia, and gutters/downspouts.

 + -1 moreI liked them because when you call you get a live person, and she was very nice. The emergency repair was good quality. A little bit of it didn't hold because of some high winds. I called to tell them and someone came out the same day to fix it. The response has been as quick as they can, but they are very busy because of the windstorm. Thousands of houses had shingles blown off and damage to their homes, so it is taking a while for them to come out for an estimate on the final repair.
Description of Work: They came out and did the emergency repair on our roof after a windstorm.
