Simpson Fence Company

This was the second fence I had Simpson install, the first one lasted 16 years and it would have lasted longer, but we had the hurricane winds that took down part of it. I had Ron Simpson come out and give me an estimate, and even though they weren't the cheapest, I went with them because of my first experience. The installation went fairly well with the exception of the installer cutting off the posts with a 7 1/4 circular saw and all the post tops were jagged. Only 2 weeks after it was done, I noticed the fence was warping, I ran a line down the fence and sent Simpson pictures showing a 4" bow in the fence. Ron Simpson said he'd send someone out, that never happened. I called him back and he claimed his note about it got buried on his desk. A month later I called, and he claimed his man had been there and replaced a board, which I couldn't tell had been done, and I didn't see anyone there. Ron Simpson never had any interest in fixing the problem and never came to look at it, the real problem was not a board, it was all the posts were warping! The problem continued to get worse, I filed a BBB claim and told them they must have changed suppliers since my last fence, and Simpson claims they've used the same supplier for 40 years. Even the BBB complaint wasn't enough for Simpson to come and look at the mess they stuck me with. The fence was installed 4/29/2009 and it is rotting away, all of the 4x4 post are rotting, the lateral boards are rotting, the cedar pickets are rotting and the tops are falling off. I followed the installers directions as far as letting it dry out and the staining it before the first winter, but the obvious deficient materials used has failed in less than half the time I was told the fence would last. I read another review about Simpson with similar issues, so this is not an isolated incident!

Team came out and completed the work in a day. They cleaned up after themselves and ensured no property or neighbor's property was disturbed. We have been pleased with the work and have received multiple compliments on how nice the new fence looks.

The fence looks great and the workers were professional. I will definitely use them in the future.

I stopped by Simpson Fence Co on Monday June 3rd (2013) to request a quote for 84' feet of fencing and 2 estate gates with gate operators on my semi-circular driveway. I have called back to Simpson Fence no less than 3 times and it is obvious that nobody wants our business... Very puzzling considering this is probably a $15k-$18k job in a down economy. The apathetic attitude of the staff was mind boggling. Try as I might, I was unable to motivate anyone at Simpson Fence to sell me a fencing job. We're looking elsewhere but SOMEBODY ELSE is going to get paid on this job.

Fence looked nice after installation and held up for approximately 6 years. At that time we noticed some rotting posts. After examination, we found that all posts in the ground were rotted. (There was no written guarantee on this fence but when they gave us the quote they said it would last at least twenty years). We contacted Simpson and their representative came out to survey the damage. The representative said that they had received a shipment of "one year guaranteed" posts that they mistakenly used, and they were supposed to have used "twenty year guaranteed" posts. They only consolation they would make was to give us replacement posts that we would have to install ourselves. If we wanted them to replace the posts we would have to pay labor charges which amounted to 3/4 of the original purchase price. I feel that since they admitted the wrong posts were originally used, they did not furnish the materials that we were promised and had paid for. Needless to say, we were very disappointed with this company and the way we were treated.

The fence has held up very well. Their price was comparable to other companies.

They did a great job. I hadn't used them before. I would use them again.
