MR SWEEP ADVANCED APPLICATIONS

I was quoted a price over the phone of $139.00 but was told when they arrived that it would cost $250.00 because my chimney was covered with creosote and they needed to use chains to clean it which was extra. I faithfully have my chimney cleaned every year so don't understand the build-up of the creosote since I don't use the fireplace on a regular basis. The prior company I used for the past 8 or 10 years phone number was disconnected and I couldn't get in contact with them, hence the use of Mr. Sweep. The serviceman who came was very nice and seemed to do a good job but he did "bad mouth" my previous company saying they must not have done a good job. The serviceman also inspected the chimney on the roof and suggested I have a couple of repairs made and quoted me a price. I told him I would think about it and get back to them. About a month later, I called Mr. Sweep to schedule the additional work and was told someone would be here on a Saturday between 3 and 5 p.m. but no one ever showed up or called. I called them back, left a message on their machine explaining what was going on but no one ever bothered to call me back. I ended up calling another company who came the next day and was cheaper by over $50 than Mr. Sweep plus was told my chimney was in great shape! I probably will not use Mr. Sweep again.
