Historic House Restoration

Please note: this is only a review of the guy who was working on repairing houses, not his wife, who as I understand it is the one who restores windows and doors. I contacted him to get a quote about fixing some minor plaster issues in my house, as well as repairing some rotting wood on my porch. He said he would email me when he was going to come over-- he didn't, I had to call him a couple times, and he ended up showing up the day after he said he would come. After he left, he said he'd email me a quote within a couple days. After a week I texted him to ask whether he'd had a chance to make that quote, and he said he'd been sick and would get it to me in a couple days. I finally heard back three weeks later, which was to tell me that he'd been offered a permanent job maintaining 30 or so historic houses in Cincinnati (?) and wouldn't be able to complete my job as he was no longer taking individual jobs. He did say his wife would continue working on her own to restore windows and doors.

He did a wonderful job. The job was very intensive. He took all the windows out and rebuilt them as well as fixed any dry rot. The windows are old arch windows and they look wonderful. None of the original glass was broken, which was very impressive. He is very knowledgeable and I found him to be a valuable resource for our older home. It is him and his wife at the company and they were both a delight to work with. We already plan to hire him again for some outside rotting repair.
