Again, they were punctual and worked very hard that day.

As described previously, Buckeye was responsive whereas two other companies contacted could not even give us an estiame for sevaral days. The work was all done and the yard returned to normal in time for entertaining family on July 4.

Buckey cut the trees when I was at work as agreed. When I came home, I noticed right away 40-50% of the wood was cut way to long. When one of the crew came out to pick up the check that evening, we discussed the length issue. He said he would come make it right the next day. I gave him the check. He didn't show that week so I called person who wrote the contract (Jeff) on Sat. He stated he was not aware of the issue but would get someone right out to make it right. Thurs. I called him again and his response was, "I thought it had already been taken care off". He would have someone there that week-end. No one showed Sat. so I called Sunday (3 times) and got more run around, such as we are really busy and you are on the list. Very different from I'll be right out. I am currently getting an estimate from the person who I was hiring to split the large pieces and stack the wood. He his willing to cut it down and I am going to have to pay for work that should have been covered. I have filed a complaint with the BBB.
Response from Buckeye's Forestry
"I am the sales representative for Buckeye Forestry (Jeff), and I assure you "customer satisfaction is our top priority! I am almost always on every work site to make sure every job is completed to our customer's satsfaction. We typically do not accept payment until our jobs are completed as agreed to in every written proposal. However, there are several comments in this report that I would like to address; First, I was unable to accompany the crew members to this work site due to an unexpected hospital stay, and since I am the one who writes most of the estimates, I am the one who collects payment when and only when the agreed upon work is complete to our customer's satisfaction- which can be verified by HUNDREDS of past customers that have given our company many referrals and references; Second, the employee who collected payment for this job has since been fired for not meeting our standards of "complete customer satisfaction"; Third, I did talk with the customer, but due to my illness was not able to personally inspect the completed job-site, as I normally do. We discussed the meaning of "firewood length" and I explained to her that I have been in the field of arboriculture for over fifteen years and am very qualified in the field. Firewood is typically cut into eighteen to twenty-four inch lengths, and sometimes even longer. The customer, however, insisted that her wood should have been cut in twelve inch lengths, which I have never heard of in all of my years of experience and I explained to her that such a request for so much wood would have to be included in the contract, prior to the start of the job, and would definitely be at some extra cost. All five crew members who were on the job-site assured me that all of the wood was cut in lengths no longer than twenty four inches, which is typical. Finally, the price of the job was more than reasonable. A job of this nature would typically cost approximately $2,400 to $2,900, but due to the dangerous situation of the customer's damaged trees that were threatening her home, I was willing to negotiate a price that was within her financial means. We at Buckeye Forestry pride ourselves in customer satisfaction and I deeply regret what happened in this case, but I assure you, the customer received more than adequate work at an unbeatable price. I am however, glad that this came to fruition so our company can learn from this and strive even harder for "complete customer satisfaction". So give Buckeye a try! I guarantee complete customer satisfaction, and we will not collect payment until our job is complete and our customer is satisfied! 937-823-3402"
