I searched for a concrete contractor that had significant manpower as I wanted the job to go fast as we were at end of season for concrete work and was located in proximity to the job. John Gleckler, the owner was very responsive surveying the job 2 days after being contacted and I received a written proposal within 2 days thereafter. The company had 8 full-time workers who did nothing but "flat work" and they did not use my job as a fill-in to larger jobs requiring vertical work. This was a plus in my mind. While I had a good specification for the work, John made some suggestions that insured that we would have a good job done. I found the quote to be reasonable and the company offered a 2% cash discount for payment of the invoice within 15 days which I elected to take. From start to finish the job was completed within 5 days, which included the tear-up of the existing driveway, hauling it off, excavating a larger driveway area, placing forms, pouring, finishing and cutting expansion joints. And they also removed some broken sidewalk concrete and poured a new section. The only work I had to do was to backfill along the edge of the driveway where the forms had been removed and even then Gleckler left me the sod they had pulled up to place the forms and with some fill dirt and the sod, the job looked like it had been there forever. I would highly recommend Gleckler Brothers to others.
