After the dishwasher was installed, the turnoff valve under the sink was leaking. The technician told us to wrap a rag around it when we turned it back on. Later that day, we turned on the valve to run the dishwasher, and there was a stream of water from the valve. We couldn't use the dishwasher. We called Sears (this company is a subcontractor for installation) and they told us to call the company. We called and spoke with Jeff Bassett. When we told him what the problem was, he refused to take responsibility for the problem, and raised his voice as he insisted that it was not his problem. We washed dishes by hand for a week, trying to get Sears to take responsibility for the damage. Finally we called a plumber and paid out of our pocket for the repair. Neither J & L nor Sears would take responsibility for this problem. People we spoke with at Sears were courteous but not helpful. Mr. Bassett was rude and shouted at us over the phone.

I don't know how it could get any worse. Obviously I got the son from the J&Lremodeling. He came into my house and needed to borrow towels from me. He then proceeded to take all the dirty stuff under my sink and put it on the kitchen counter where we cut and prepare all our food instead of on the floor on the towels I had to give him. Now keep in mind we have a working Bosch dishwasher in perfect shape but we had our house on the market to rent so I figured someone would want a brand new one. After he turns off the water he starts to install the dishwasher. Within ten minutes he blows out a good section of my electric which included two refrigerators, my Internet and a lot of lights. He comes over and said there was nothing he could do and asked me to sign the paperwork. I told him I had a working dishwasher for 8 years and I have 7 electrical boxes and I've been told I have more then enough ampage. I ask him to please call his boss. He walks back and forth for 5 minutes and then sprints out of the house leaving all the stuff on my counter, my towels in a ball under the sink and a trail of water on my hardwoods from the kitchen through the family room into the garage. I called the first electrician that could come out the next morning and he said the chances of the breaker going at the exact same time he was installing the dishwasher were 1 in a million. Well I would've written that up as utter incompetence and wouldn't even pursued it as it would take to much time. However 3 days later I noticed one of the toilets was brown which I thought was odd because we just had the cleaning service out. Well before you know it everything was turning brown . All our bathrooms the main shower, the washing machine etc. I called a random plumber who came out on a special call the next Saturday morning and diagnosed the problem within 3 seconds . When J&L went down to shut of my water he also turned of the bypass valve to my water treatment system for absolutely no reason. When he went to turn my water back on after his crappy job he didnt open the bypass valve as my family of five went day after day unknowingly using untreated rusty water. Then they lied to their unethical insurance broker( universal insurance) who plays the old months of stalling and not returning phone calls. Then when finally forced they give it to Erie insurance who denies it for absolutely no reason. Beware of J&L remodeling in Mentor, Ohio. They will destroy your house and deny deny deny . BEWARE!!!

It's like a father and son thing. He and his dad come all the time. He cuts the closest to the time I pay the bill, that way they can just take the check with them.
