Joe is the most professional contractor we have ever hired. Work is done to the highest standard and his team is always punctual and courteous. We have had work down on our flat roof several times with other contractors and the product was always a disappointment and an expensive one at that. Hurd Home Services did an OUTSTANDING job and we are finally happy with the great condition and look of our flat roof. In addition he removed a drop tile ceiling, replaced old insulation and installed drywall on the ceiling. Great job! We will hire them again in the future for all of our home improvement and repair needs. VERY happy to find such an excellent company.

Punctual, clean, neat, professional and as concerned about the small details and quality as much as we were. Cleaned up every ounce of dust- you would never know workmen had just been there. Based on the excellent service and experience with Joe with building the closet we immediately got more quotes on other work around our home. VERY well done job. People come to our home and don't even realize the wall wasn't there before- it seamlessly fits in with the rest of the room.

He stated he had walked around the house and his estimate did not include the painted brick foundation. This is the highest quote I have ever gotten. He explained that he does a lot of high end jobs. My property is located in the Northern Collinwood area and its a rental house he stated it requires a lot of high ladder work.

The experience went very well. I have two different roof types. The slanted roof had a major leak that they solved . It took me two years and two other companies before I found Hurd Home Services . The other roof has a flat surface. The job was well done.

I have used Hurd Home Services in the past and they did a great job for me so I did not hesitate to call them again due to the outstanding work they had done for me. The owner Joe is always available to answer any questions you have which is great in my opinion to actually be able to speak with the owner. I called this time because I needed my main stair railing replaced in my living room. I also needed my hallway and stairwell repainted and caulked. I needed a front door replaced that had become a nuisance and the carpet removed on my stairway. I also had a few other things I needed done but I do not want to write too much here. As usual I called Joe and set up the estimate. He came out on time and gave me the estimate. Upon the scheduled date for work Joe and his crew showed up on time and started working immediately. They completed the job on time and cleaned up their work area as always. I'm very pleased with Joe and how he runs his company compared to other contractors I have used. I would have to say they are A1 and I will keep hiring them for my projects. P.S. I was upset to read the bad review Joe recently received here. That has never been my experience with them I definitely believe his response was correct. They have always been courteous and professional with me.

Well first off I have been a member on Angie's list a long time and I would not hire a contractor without them. The reason I just had this outstanding experience was because of Angie's list. I had recently begin updating my home and it was very outdated old carpet, woodpanel wall and the works. I had new flooring installed and I wanted to update my trim and baseboards around the whole lower level of my home. One real eyesore was the horribly built brick fireplace I and not to mention it was dangerous because it was not held to the wall securely. I called hurd home services to give me an estimate on the fireplace and trim package. I was happy that the owner Joe showed up right on the agreed upon time and that was bonus #1 he was very knowledgeable of the work that I needed done and assured me he could handle it in a timely manner so, we set the appointment and once again Joe was very punctual and went to work right away he also made sure I had the right materials for everything I needed done. He basically built my fireplace from scratch which was amazing to me he really knows what he is doing and makes sure that everything is right. I was floored with the difference from my old fireplace to the new one. The work on my trim and baseboards was flawless and they also, repaired some of my drywall. They painted my baseboards, trim and fireplace to perfection you can tell when you have a pro because they do not get any paint on your floor or wall. After each day they cleaned up the work area without me mumbling a word which was fantastic because I have dealt with contractors who left a mess behind. The whole job took 3 days and i very pleased with the results and without a doubt I would hire hurd home services again for any project I have.

I had three pages of violations after a renter was evicted. I asked around for a good company to help me bring things up to code. I heard that Hurd Home Services was good so I looked them up on Angie's list. Their reviews were excellent so Hurd Home Services was hired to do the work. This company is amazing! They want things done right! No short cuts or making things LOOK like they have been done. They work as if it is their own home. They also are good at analyzing the cause of a problem and fix that so it won't recur. On one window where there was a hole in the bottom right corner, they rebuilt the window frame with wood instead of patching with plastic wood and painting! I am impressed with this company. They are professional and honest. They know their stuff!! I will definitely use them again. I have already been recommending them to my friends! The best thing is, I don't have to worry about the work holding up. I know it was done right the first time. What a great feeling!! Thanks, guys!! C Worley

They arrived punctually each day. They taped and cleaned the space on a daily bass to minimize dust and dirt. The work was completed on time. They were friendly and professional. They donated and installed a new shower kit for my house, out of the kindness of their heart. I was amazed. Aside from remodeling my entire house, they also built a staircase for me.

They arrived promptly each day and were meticulous in their work. Lead barriers were installed immediately. Work was completed on time. Cleanup was outstanding even if they were just going to lunch. They were courteous and cheerful in spite of very hot temperatures. There was no loud music, no swearing, just a lot of hard work. Even the crew installing our air conditioning commented favorably on the work ethic of our painters. In addition they repaired things as they went. I can now open and close cupboard doors that had not worked well for years. They installed a new garage light when ours seemed to be on its last legs. They also replaced some damaged garage windows for us, something I had been planning to do before they came but never managed. They even washed all the dining room and garage windows before they left!

This is my favorite contractor I have ever used. I brought him in at the outset, he gave me estimates for six pages of violations, and charged what he said on the estimates. He was there when he said he would be, worked hard while there, and did fine work at a reasonable price. Am currently waiting to get him in for another project.

Did excellent work, was neat and professional. Was on time with start and finish. Highly recommended.

Joe Hernandez is the owner operator of this company. I have had many jobs done by many companies and individuals. Joe is outstanding. He is professional and truly cares about his work. I have never had a more pleasant experience! His work is exemplary! I can't praise him enough. He is here when he says he will be. Every day he states what his objectives are for that day and then he does what he says. I can't believe that I have finally found someone who is honest and has integrity. I have had so many horrible experiences. I would and will recommend him to anyone. His prices are reasonable and you get more than your money's worth. You will not be disappointed!
