+ -1 moreThe area which was being decorated was a great room. It consisted of the kitchen, breakfast area, living room, dining room, foyer and hallway. I am a retired residential developer and homebuilder, and therefore am very familiar with building procedures and practices and have dealt with all of the trades in the industry. It is with this experience that I'm able to recommend Cohen's Painting and Papering Company without hesitation and with pleasure. Tim Cohen and his associate were meticulous in moving all of the furniture, covering it, and sealing it in plastic sheeting. Then all of the floors were covered with drop cloths, or paper, which was taped in place. After completing the preparation of the space to be painted they proceeded in a methodical and professional manner to do the work described above. The results were superb. In addition to the excellent work that they do Tim Cohen, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with.
Description of Work: Stripped vinyl wall covering; washed off all of the old paste; sanded and spackled the walls; repaired cracks in the ceiling; painted all of the walls and ceilings.

+ -1 moreI contacted Cohen because I was looking for someone to paint the interior of my newly purchased townhouse. I was encouraged when I received a fast response and was able to set up an appointment fairly quickly. The owner and his son came out, looked at my place, took lots of notes and said they'd get back to me with a quote. They seemed professional and I was feeling very positive. Then they left and I never heard from them again, even after I placed a follow-up call over a week later asking them to contact me with a quote.

+ 1 moreThey are excellent, personable, and professional! Highly recommended! Communication was good---they came out quickly for an estimate and fit me in their busy schedule very quickly, in less than a week I think. As stated above they removed two small patches of wallpaper after I took a towel rod down. They replaced the wallpaper perfectly, matching it exactly.You practically need a magnifying glass to see where the work was done. They painted two interior door ways, and again the results were excellent. Because their work was so good, I asked them to stay to paint our exterior trim and they stayed on an extra couple days even though they were very busy in the summer and I am sure had many other jobs lined up. The paint job was again very,very good. Absolutely no complaints. Tim and son are very polite and hard working. With their service, you get a personal touch, but they are very professional offering high quality work. I highly recommend them!!
Description of Work: Tim and his son, removed 2 small patches of wallpaper and replaced it immaculately. They painted the interior doorway to my sliding back door and the house door to my garage. They also painted the exterior trim on my house.

+ 0 moreIt was a great experience. Professional throughout and we are very happy with the results. We ran into some issues with the way the wallpaper had been put on years ago. Tim explained my options and how much each would cost. We also had some water damaged on a wall that he explained up front how much extra it would take to fix. They covered everything, cleaned up after, and moved furniture back after they were done. They show up promptly at 8am and clean after themselves everyday. It turned out to be a 5-day job with the wallpaper and water damage issues. We would definitely hire them again.
Description of Work: Removed wallpaper in kitchen and painted. Removed wallpaper in family room, repaired wall, and repainted (20 foot ceiling).

Description of Work: I CONTACTED COHEN'S PAINTING AND PAPERING TO HAVE PART OF MY HOME WALLPAPERED. I WAS GIVEN AN ESTIMATE OF $750.00, WHICH ALTHOUGH WAS CONSIDERED PRICEY, I AGREED TO. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS JOB WOULD TAKE BETWEEN TWO TO TWO AND ONE-HALF DAYS. I REC'D A TELEPHONE MESSAGE FROM MR. COHEN STATING THAT HE WOULD BE AT MY HOUSE ON 8/9/12 TO BEGIN THE WORK. I ARRANGED THE PURCHASE/DELIVERY OF THE WALLPAPER BASED ON THE DATE HE AGREED TO BEGIN THE JOB. HE NEVER SHOWED UP CLAIMING, "I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU WANT ME TO DO." HE HAD ARRANGED ANOTHER JOB FOR HIMSELF AND HIS SON. I TOLD HIM THAT I HAD ARRANGED TO HAVE THIS DAY OFF FROM WORK AND THAT I WAS DISAPPOINTED. HE SAID THAT THERE "HAD BEEN A MISCOMMUNICATION". I GAVE HIM THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT AND RESCHEDULED FOR THE VERY NEXT DAY, 8/10/12, AT WHICH TIME HE AGAIN, "NO SHOWED" FOR THE JOB, EMAILING ME INSTEAD STATING HE WAS NOT INTERESTED IN THIS JOB AND CLAIMING THE EXACT SAME THING. WE HAD REPEATEDLY DISCUSSED THAT I HAD ACCEPTED HIS WALLPAPER OFFER. HIS PAINTING ESTIMATES WERE LITERALLY "OFF THE WALL", SO I TRULY DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW HE HAS EVEN COME TO RECEIVE THE POSITIVE RATINGS HE DID IN ALL CATEGORIES. I FELT HE WAS TRYING TO "GOUGE" ME IN TERMS OF HIS PAINTING PRICES TO COMPENSATE FOR/OFFSET THE TIME HE STATED IT WOULD TAKE HIM AND HIS SON TO COMPLETE THE WALLPAPERING JOB.I LOST TWO COMPLETE DAYS OF WORK/PAY BECAUSE OF TIM COHEN'S LACK OF CONSIDERATION AND IRRESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOR. I REQUESTED A BREAKDOWN OF HIS PRICING (HE WANTED $4,950 TO PAINT/WALLPAPER THE ENTIRE HOUSE) AND HE APPEARED ANNOYED TO HAVE HAD THIS ASKED OF HIM. HE SEEMS TO EXPECT THAT CUSTOMERS WILL JUST BLINDLY TURN OVER THEIR MONEY TO HIM, NO QUESTIONS ASKED. IF A BETTER JOB COMES ALONG, HE IS HISTORY. WATCH OUT AND BEWARE OF THIS ONE!

Description of Work: Services were in two locations: bathroom and front door. In bathroom they repaired some drywall and painted entire bathroom including the ceiling. Also, repainted our front door as well as trim around the front door.

+ 0 moreThere were at our house for five days(Monday to Friday) They arrived by 8AM each day and if one of the painters had an errand and was going to be late, we were told the day before. It was a very hot week. They did not complain and worked hard the time at they were at the house. They cleaned up every day. They flowed the old camping saying; They left the house each day neater than when thy came. The crew was easy to talk to and helpful with suggestions. Mr Toth visited our house twice during the week and discussed with us any concerns that we had which were only minor issues.
Description of Work: The painting grew was excellent. They early in the morning. They were friendly and willing to meet our concerns about the painting. They were respectful of our yard and cleaned up every day living the grounds of the house with no mess. The painting took five days and the job was just as we had hoped. They painted the exterior of our house. They matched the color perfectly. I strongly recommend Toth Painting Solutions. They were helpful , courteous, and neat.

+ 0 moreTim and his son removed wallpaper and painted our family room walls and ceiling. The job took two days, as they estimated, and they arrived punctually at 8AM both days. They were both professional, never left the job site, and used drop cloths in the areas where they walked from the garage to the work area. Prior to sanding the walls they hung plastic sheeting in the family room doorway to contain the dust, which was appreciated. The quality of the painting is good. I would use them again for other work and would recommend to others.

Wallpaper removal went smoothly and all trash was removed from the house every day. Wall prep and painting went so fast, they finished the job in 5 days. I would definately use them again.

Description of Work: Tim and his crew painted the entire downstairs of our condo...He was always on time...did exactly what he said he was going to do...always cleaned up the work area at the end of the day. Since the job took six days to complete, we had quite a bit of contact. He also painted the trim on our condo and did a great job on that too. There were no hidden charges of any kind!!! We plan to have the upstairs painted in the Spring and will hire Tim again. We have recommended him to several friends and they have had a similar experience . .

+ -1 moreCohen's did an excellent job! We hired Cohen?s after another painter stripped the wall paper and painted. The other painter however did not prepare the walls properly, and several areas remained that were either rough or gauged. In addition, the paint would peel off. Cohen?s resolved all of those problems for us. Now the walls look beautiful!! They are smooth and the painted edges around the sink, cabinets and molding are crisp and clean. Also, there was much less of mess to clean up after the work was done. Cohen?s put up zip walls to contain the dust from sanding, and they used clean drop cloths on the floors. Everyone also tried hard not to track dirt into the house. In summary, we are so pleased that the next time we need to have anything painted, Cohen?s will be our first choice!

+ -1 moreAs usual, Tim did a great job. Working with Tim is very easy and there were no surprises. He estimated the job cost, we agreed upon a repair date and time, he came at the time we agreed upon, and he finished the job in the time frame described.
Description of Work: Tim Cohen repaired water damage in the ceiling and walls of our bedroom closet. He removed the damaged paint and stucco , verified the damage was superficial, repaired the stucco, and then painted so repair was not noticeable. We have used Tim to paint our house for many years and would continue to use him for big and small jobs.
