Even though they knew what my wife and I had already been through with the other contractor who did not complete the job, Absolute Grass ripped us off. They completed only half of the work, did not properly level the lawn, left entire areas unseeded, and left entire areas incomplete. They took our money and then took off. Jason was rude when I reached him once and then did not return any telephone calls, offer to fix the muddy mess in the backyard, etc. I would never hire this company again. They are completely disreputable. I'm sure it's Jason's "M.O." to blame his victims as unreasonable. Never use this contractor and if he changes company names, remember the name Jason Moodry.
Description of Work: I recently joined Angie's List and out of curiosity looked for this company, which had done disastrous work for me in the past. Sure enough, they were here with the kind of review I would have written had I had the opportunity. We had had another contractor remove a swimming pool from our backyard, who was then supposed to bring in topsoil, level, reseed, etc. The other contractor removed the pool, but left a mess and disappeared with the balance of our money. The result was a disaster in which there were major, undraining pools of water. Jason Moodry knew this when I hired him to complete the job, and promised that he would finish the job and make it right. The above dollar amount is an approximation. I do not have the records handy as I type this.

THE INSTALLATION OF THE IRRIGATION SYSTEM IS FINE, BUT OUR LAWN LOOKS LOUSY. WHEN THEY HYDROSEEDED THE SECOND TIME TO FILL IN THE BARE SPOTS, THEY HYDROSEEDED OVER MUCH OF THE GOOD GRASS AREAS WHICH THEN KILLED THEM. THIS HAS LEFT EVEN LARGER BARE SPOTS, THUS,THEY DID MORE HARM THAN GOOD. THEY DAMAGED OUR CEMENT WALKOUT PATIO AND NEVER EVEN OFFERED TO FIX IT. PLUS, DUE TO LACK OF COMMUNICATION ON THEIR PART, THEY DAMAGED PART OF OUR CURTAIN DRAIN AROUND THE SEPTIC FIELD WHEN THEY WERE PREPPING THE LAWN AREA FOR SEEDING. THEY HAVE NOT FINISHED RESEEDING AND FERTILIZING NOR HAVE THEY FIXED ANY OF THE DAMAGE THEY'VE DONE, YET THEY ARE DEMANDING PAYMENT IN FULL.

Response from ABSOLUTE GRASS INC
They are unreasonably difficult. During the construction of their home over the last three years, Absolute Grass is the only original to remain on the project. The others have either quit or been replaced. We remained committed to the project, and completed all work, including several changes made after the date of the contract. We have attempted to accommodate them throughout the project, incorporating their changes when possible. In fact, we are re-treating the lawn although the weeds and disease are "acts of God" not subject to warranty as an act of good faith. Jason Moodry-President
