ROYAL FOREST LANDSCAPING

I've used John for several different projects. He and his team built our patio, installed a new sprinkler system, installed all of our landscaping, and has performed mulching/spring clean up services over the years. He is fairly priced, and his team does a nice job. We've had a few plants 'not take' and die over winter, and John came and replaced them for free. Very reasonably priced and good service.

John was very approachable and sales-like before we paid him. I was concerned about him trying to hydroseed our yard in a rainstorm. When approached he said he'd come back later that week and patch up any wash out. However, we never saw him again after he collected the check. My wife finally got ahold of him to ask simple questions about the rust appearing on our lawn and when the patch-ups would take place. We truly thought we hired a consultant, as it was the first time we've ever put in a yard. He proceeded to swear and yell at my wife, I believe he must have been drunk. His language was offensive and awful. He almost encouraged us to contact the Better Business Bureau, as he said, "he knows how to handle them, and they won't help us" His wife had to call the next day to basically apologize. From the tone of the call, she must have done this before. We agreed right there to cut ties. He basically stole money from us. The following year another professional landscaper told me the seed in my yard was inexpensive and the company did a lousy job placing it in. It will take years of overseeding and patch repair to fix what he did. I would never trust this joke of a man again. When he finally agreed to come back and do patch repair, we didn't trust him anywhere near our lawn. A truly unprofessional individual and company.

They did a great job on the front landscaping the first summer we hired them. Felt as though they were expensive but the work turned out great. We hired them to do our landscaping and tiered paver patio in the rear and had a less than great experience. They were supposed to start the job in May and did not start until mid July. They make a huge mess while working, leaving trash and tools all over the yard. I even found a razor blade that they had used for cutting stuck into the side of my kid's wooden swingset. The job foreman kept asking me questions about the size etc of the patio and I kept telling him that his boss (his uncle) had the prints. Two days before they were done they told us that they had built the patio too big and that they would need more money from us. They are also horrible about replacing plants that have died under warranty. Our patio looks great but I have totally cut my ties with their company. Too unprofessional.

THE ESTIMATOR PROMISED THE SANDSTONE WOULD MATCH STONEWORK ON OUR HOME. MOST OF THE WORK WAS COMPLETED WHEN I CAME HOME AND FOUND IT DID NOT MATCH AT ALL. THEY CALLED THE OWNER AND I SPOKE WITH HIM ABOUT THE PROBLEM. HE WAS VERY RUDE, USED OBSCENITIES, SCREAMED AT ME, TRASH TALKED THE CITY AND SAID I WAS A LOW LIFE LIVING IN PARMA. HE SAID HE MADE $400,000 A YEAR AND THREATENED TO PUT A LIEN ON MY HOME. HE CAME TO THE HOUSE TO LOOK AT THE WORK AND CLAIMED IT LOOKED FINE. HE SWORE AT ME IN FRONT OF CHILDREN, NEIGHBORS AND OTHER WORKERS, PUTTING DOWN MY HOME AND MY NEIGHBORHOOD. THEN HE THREATENED ME LEGALLY, AGAIN WITH MORE OBSCENITIES. HE DIDN'T EVEN TRY TO WORK WITH ME AT ALL. LUCKILY, MY LAWYER NIECE STOPPED BY FOR A VISIT AND WITNESSED THIS. HE CALMED DOWN WHEN HE FOUND OUT SHE WAS A LAWYER AND WOULD COST ME NOTHING. I WAS UNDER DURESS TO GET THE WORK COMPLETED BEFORE MY HUSBAND CAME HOME, SO WE WORKED OUT AN AGREEMENT. IT WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
