MARQUARD HOME IMPROVEMENT & REMODELING

From the first visit I knew Shawn was the best fit for my remodel. He came out and within 2 days I had a detailed estimate. After getting 2 other estimates I decided to use Marquard, shawn came back out and I adjusted some specifics and agreed on the price. Shawn and his crew started the work on Monday December 29th. They gutted the bathroom and remove dueled in 2 1/2 weeks. His crew Kenny and Rocco were excellent workers and paid attention to detail. They made progress every day and left our house clean and tidy on a daily basis. The final outcome is much better than I had envisioned. I am extremely happy with the quality of their work and will definitely be using them again to remodel my other bathroom in the near future. Excellent company and excellent workers. From initial visit to final work, Marquard was very professional, helping us to visualize what we could do with our space. They listened to what we needed, even if we didn't know exactly what we wanted. We added on several smaller jobs, such as fixing adjacent entryways, adding storm doors and repairing some damaged woodwork. They were always very transparent with costs, and we had no major surprises. The crew did an excellent job, and were very flexible with our schedule and needs. We should have done this kitchen ten years ago! I can't recommend them enough for their level of quality and competitive pricing.

Everything went smoothly. I was informed by many friends that remodels take 2x the estimated timeline and to expect hidden costs. That didn't happen with Shawn. The project stared on time, ended on time and cost the same as the written contract. No surprises. I felt really comfortable having Shawn and Rocco in my home with my little girls which was very important to me. He ALWAYS answered my calls. The job was done beautifully. We look forward to working with Shawn in the future.

Shawn and his employee, Rocco, arrived on time on the first day and decided on a plan of action. They took care of the garage attic insulation first and the next day started on the bathroom and bedroom. They were very careful to cause as little disruption as possible. I had access to both rooms as long as possible. Obviously, at some point I could not use the bathroom and could not sleep in the bedroom for one night. They did a great job. I finally have a bathroom that I love and a bedroom that is gorgeous. Shawn was very receptive to my design ideas and gave me great input as to what would or would not work. He and Rocco were very conscientous about the quality of the work they did and were very good guys to work with. Shawn noticed that one of the windows had a defect, before I notice it, and immediately contacted the factory (a local company) to come out and repair the window. They were very respectful of our home and are boh true gentlemen.

Shawn was excellent in all aspects of the job. We had an 80s master bath complete with jacuzzi and extremely small shower. I did the demolition of the room and Shawn installed a large, fully tiled glass enclosed shower, new tile floor, new lighting and a new closet for much less than many other vendors had quoted. The quality of the work was excellent and we couldn't be happier with our new bathroom. I would highly recommend Shawn for home improvement projects and we won't hesitate to use Marquard Home Improvement and Remodelling in the future.

They never showed up! We took off work to meet at 9.a.m. And no one showed or called. Incredibly disappointing and unprofessional.

They did an excellent job at a fair price. I couldn't ask for more. It's a beautiful job. The prices were very reasonable. We got other estimates of $23,000 to $24,000 for the same job. We also got estimates of $10,000 to $11,000. Marquard is from a family of builders. My wife is familiar with his family because my wife's father used to be a contractor. He would subcontract with Marquard's grandfather and brothers. They were home builders in the 1950's and 1960's. When he came over, we struck up a conversation because one of my father-in-law's company's customers was Marquard Building or whatever it was called back then. We didn't solely give him the job because of that. We felt that he knew what he was doing. We got excellent value and service. If you lived in this area, I would say get this guy. He's very honest. I can't say enough. I can't find anything wrong that they did.

Shawn and his helper were on time. A water leak was discovered under the floor and they were able to repair it with minimal added cost. The whole project went very well and we are pleased with the results. In total the project took one week with them doing some door painting and prep work at their workshop. The price was resonable and in line with other estimates. We would recommend them for any interior work

it went great . the guys were able to start early because of delays with a prior job. i had done all the demolition myself with a friend . they put in several new outlets ( gfi ) for the countertop and kitchen stove . moved the water line to new refrigerator location , installed new ceiling light/fan fixture to existing bracket , put in new wall moldings ( outside corners ) , new floor tile & bullnose , also new l e d lighting for underneath countertops & all plumbing work . the cabinets and countertop were installed by other companies . colonial cabinets & chippewa stone in medina . the original co. i had for the countertop cut it short and caused us to switch companies . this delayed the project 1 month . shawn never batted an eye and just said call us when we can complete the job. i would hire these guys in the future without hesitation . thanks , guys !

They were great people. Sean was terrific to work with. The quality of work was average and they could have paid a little more attention to the details. They could have done a better job and the price was a little expensive. They completed everything fine but, I am not sure I will use their services in the future.

We have used Shawn in the past and he does do quality work and always makes sure we are happy with everything. We needed a complete gut of our kitchen and a couple walls taken out and new everything installed. It took about 5 or 6 weeks to complete. No major problems only a few bumps in the road but If you have any complaints, he does correct it. One of his workers Rocco has great eye for detail which is a bonus. We would definitely use his services again if priced right :).

It went great! Shawn arrived at 9:00 a.m. this morning with the part I needed - at no charge. I don't know too many contractors that go out of their way to do this. He also looked at the shower conversion and gave me a quote if I wanted a tub and also told me the name of the piece of laminate my dog destroyed so I could go and get another piece to buy at the "big box store".

Did not use this contractor.

Shawn did a great job of handling everything from the quoting to seeing that the work was done right and with high quality. His team stuck to the schedule and budget without exception. I would highly recommend, they are thorough on the details of the work including communication. They showed up on time and cleaned up very well upon completion.

I scheduled an appointment to meet with him on Monday, March 18 at 5:00. I left work an hour early to make sure I could get home in time. He called me at 4:50 to tell me that he wouldn't be able to make it. I wasn't happy that I had to leave work early and rush home for no reason at all. i never rescheduled.

Overall a very positive experience. Shawn was easy to work with, helped us as we made our decisions and made his own recommendations. he was very accommodating to any changes we made to the original estimate. He also kept us informed on the status of the job while we waited for the cabinets to come in and throughout. They also worked very fast as they completed the majority of it within 30 days. Very happy with the finished product and I would recommend him for any remodel project

The work went well (about four and a half days) and they made to sure to give us working showers and sinks for evening for use during the construction. The new tub, faucets and countertops look great. They cleaned up everyday and were very pleasant during the work. We were particularly pleased with the walls, some of the old wallpaper bonded to the dry wall which caused considerable damage when it was removed. Marquard made excellent repairs of the drywall and the resulting paint job was terrific. Will use Marquard again without hesitation.

Shawn started on a Monday . Took out the tub/shower that was there and removed the wall tiles. Tuesday he was framing the area for the stall shower, along one end for for a two foot space for extra shelf storage. Wed. he was drywalling. Thurs.he was doing the plumbing. Friday he painted the bathroom and finished.

Always on time, from estimate to end of job. Very courteous and takes pride in finished product and making sure we were satisfied with the work.

Ya gotta love Angie's List! We needed a complete kitchen redo, since our metal cabinets and enameled countertop were starting to crap out, to put it mildly. They'd been there since 1947 when the house was built. I joined Angie's List just to look for someone who could do everything -- floor, walls and ceiling, cabinets, countertop, sink, disposal and dishwasher. Marquard Handyman and Remodeling had six glowing reviews here, so I gave Shawn a call and he came over a few days later to scope out the kitchen. We accepted Shawn's quote before we even heard back from another contractor we had met with. Shawn was friendly, professional and seemed like a genuinely trustworthy guy. Plus, my wife and I just wanted to get the project started, and Shawn's quote seemed reasonable for the amount of work to be done and the amount of materials and surfaces and storage to be bought. It was an excellent decision. Shawn was absolutely great to work with. His email and phone communications were timely, and he always showed up when he said he would. He worked quickly but not hurriedly. Some electrical work was needed, and Shawn brought in an electrician who I'll definitely hire when I need one. One of the cabinets arrived with shipping damage, and Shawn made sure that the factory built and shipped a replacement ASAP. He installed it the day it arrived at the local distributor. Except for the electrical, Shawn did all the work himself. The kitchen looks beautiful, from top to bottom. He made the whole process relatively painless, starting with the two showrooms he sent us to to pick out cabinets, countertop, sink and flooring. Both places had good selection, prices and helpful staff. We highly recommend Marquard Handyman and Remodeling to anyone needing remodeling and probably any other kind of job around the house.

I have never been happier with a home remodeling project. He would be in my top 2 or 3 services of all time. I would highly recommend him. His bid was very competitive. It was very rare how he always showed up on time. He was very neat and clean and his craftsmanship was outstanding. His ideas were very creative and everything was up to date. For a job that can be a little messy with the drywall, he was as neat as can be.

We contacted 4 contractors for bids. Two contractors gave us bids, one was unable because of a personal situation and the 4th one never came back with a bid. Marquard was the best bid, both on price and the work to be done. Shawn understood what we wanted to accomplish. He made some very good suggestions and came up with solutions for the problems that arose. He was very sensitive to the fact that we don't drive and could not get to showrooms to look at cabinets, fixtures, etc. He dropped off catalogs and samples at our house for us to look through and make our selections. He was always on time, cleaned up at the end of the day and caused minimum disruption. He was an extremely hard worker. He never slacked off and finished the job on time. In addition, Shawn was a consummate professional and a very fine person. Even our fussy Fox Terrier loved him.
