+ -1 moreThey said it cost so much because they had to prime and paint it. They already had the materials. The two guys came out, did a nice job and painted it in one day. Today, the owner Jeff called and asked for $900. I told him it took one day instead of two. He also wanted to charge for the paint ($75) even though he said before that expense was covered. Then he asked if he could pick up the check today. We had a discussion, and I didn't want to argue with him so I agreed to pay the $900. Then he comes over to pick up the check, and hands my wife a $90 refund check for Angie's List.
Description of Work: They came and did an estimate on the job. They said it would take two days and with two men, would cost $900. When he quoted the job, we told him that we have the paint and that's when he quoted the price. The reason why it was that high was because it would take two days.

+ -1 moreJim was quick and professional and the work area was meticulous when he left. I received numerous quotes before selecting Jim. Most contractors skilled in carpentry don't want to do small jobs like this. I would hire him again.
Description of Work: Jim replaced a rotting horizontal wood beam (main header beam) supporting my porch roof and replaced my front porch steps. He also re-painted these areas to match the rest of the existing porch.
