I am very unhappy with the services we get from Jackson Hunter. We have had them for a few years in our development and we have had to contact the management company on many occasions just to get them to do the job properly. And we are not the only ones in our development who have told us they are also very upset and have sent numerous complaints to the HOA management company but nothing gets done. The landscapers leave grass clippings on the yards and on the driveways, The edging is terrible and non existent. Our grass is cut in 2 to 3 different heights. And many times they have not cut certain areas at all. They have cut bushes and shrubs that they are not supposed to cut. Not pruning, just basically butchered them. When I asked a young worker why he had cut my beautiful tree and my shrubs he actually started yelling at me. He was in his early 20's and I was shocked at the way he spoke to me and the things he said. I had to ask him to leave my yard because of how rude he was. I was vice president of my old homeowners association and we had a great landscaping crew. I also have been on numerous Mayor's committees and have been civically active in my community so I am not just some grouchy lady who likes to complain. These are real issues. And now that my husband is home he is handling it because it terribly upset him that someone spoke to his wife this way. And because I am disabled he did not want me to be that upset again. So I saw another negative review on here about Jackson Hunter and I saw that the owner answered another poster who did not like his work with a lengthy reply so I so expect him to do the same to my review. Boy if he spent that much time on working to get his crew to do a decent job I probably would not have had to write a negative review.

[Member Name Removed] has never hired us directly. She is NOT in our CRM system. She lives in Stonecreek Condos in Brunswick. To those out there reading this review, please take note: [Member Name Removed] lives in a condo with an HOA (home owners association). When we are hired by an HOA (home owners association), the board members of the HOA hire us directly, NOT the homeowners. I will be requesting Angie's list remove this review because of this reason. We have never spoken to [Member Name Removed] directly. We have a GREAT working relationship with the president and board members of Stonecreek HOA, and have for many years! We work for a number of other GREAT boards and board members throughout the area! I would encourage anyone who makes it to this point of the review, to give us a ring. Especially, if you operate an HOA. We have many referrals for the work we do. Ask for Correy, the owner. Most who know us/ me, know that we want the best for our clientele and are a team with our clientele. We also do not solicit reviews. The only reviews we have on Angie's list are from folks who are compelled to leave a review. Unfortunately, there are more people compelled to leave a bad review, than good. After 12 years in business, we have 2 bad reviews. Keep in mind, there are ALWAYS two sides to every story. Correy -Owner 330-662-0122

The workers are very sloppy and inconsistent. Correy is very responsive when you contact him, but you have to push to have him take responsibility for his teams' poor work. Some of his team is does great work, and some are consistently poor - missing sections of mowing, not trimming around the driveway, digging ruts in the yard with equipment. Overall, ok, but it was frustrating to have to call to get the things I pay for completed properly/consistently - and I often ignored the irritants. It did get to a point where our neighbors asked if we still had a company managing our yard because it looked so unkempt. :) A great company for a short term projects rather than an annual contract.

Response from Jackson Hunter Landscape
Although I appreciate the review by our former client , I professionally disagree. We have worked for this former client for five years. In those five years, we maintained her business property, her personal property, and a key employee property, entirely, or in some fashion. In the five years we worked together, we have fielded six documented complaints: In no particular order First complaint: The former client's properties were not serviced. The properties were not serviced due to non-payment. They were behind and had two past due invoices. (I personally made a phone call, the week of May first, and sent an email, to the former client, preceding this, to let her know that payments were past due. I did not receive any return communication, until we stopped service) Per company policy, we temporarily suspend service after two past due invoices, until payments have been received. Upon payment, we resumed service on the regularly scheduled weekly service day (Monday). Had this been an isolated incident, we would have continued to service the former client's accounts. Preceding this, the former client was been late on twenty out of the last twenty two payments. Second complaint: Weeds along the driveway, that were missed by our crew. Emailed concern w/ pictures: September seventeenth at two thirty one pm. Response time: within two hours, September seventeenth at four forty pm. Weeds were cut back within forty eight hours. Third complaint: Overcharge for salt services. Complaint emailed, no pictures needed, March fifth at one twenty seven pm. Response time: within fifteen minutes, March fifth at one thirty six pm. Per the contract, we are to salt after snow plow events. We simply performed services within the outlined contract. (Salt the lot after a snow plow event). The former client cancelled all future salting services. Fourth complaint: Poor snow removal service: Complaint emailed, no pictures, April seventeenth at nine twenty seven am. Response time: within one hour, April seventeenth at ten twenty nine am. The contract was set for a two inch trigger to plow, w/ salt only being applied after a plowable event, per the former client's request. We completed all work per the specifications. All other businesses we plow for with nominal client and employee foot traffic have higher demands. IE: We plow upon one inch of accumulation and salt any accumulation less one inch. At a two inch trigger, the lot is not going to be perfect. The former client ultimately cancelled ALL salting services. Fifth complaint: Ruts behind the business building from our fertilizer machine. Complaint w/ pics sent: April seventeenth at eight forty eight am. Response time: within two hours, April seventeenth at ten forty one am. She shared pictures of ruts behind her building and tire tracks in the front lawn. The ruts behind the building do not match the tire tracks in the front lawn. The tire tracks in the front lawn are from our fertilizer machine but carry no damage. The tire tracks behind the building are from a vehicle, not our fertilizer machine. Sixth complaint: No mow service at her residence: complaint emailed, no pictures, April twenty sixth at ten twenty seven am. Response time: within 2 hours, April twenty sixth and eleven twenty nine am. Emailed complaint: "I just wanted to check and see why our Strongsville house hasn't been mowed yet this year. I know your guys have been doing a great job at our office and at [Member Name Removed]'s house in Medina - and have been out multiple times. We returned home from being out of town, and [Member Name Removed] had to borrow a mower because the weeds were more than a foot high." We spoke on the phone. Her residence was WAY to soggy to mow, due to soft spring ground conditions and recent rains. It's easier to field a complaint of why didn't you mow, than why did you tear up my lawn? We mowed the lawn the following week when ground conditions were better We take pride in being one of the best landscape companies in Medina county. When we make mistakes, we take accountability, and correct them. We always respond, to everyone, within a timely fashion, good or bad. I urge folks to call our office and give us a try. THANK YOU to all the good folks we work for!! -Correy - Owner

I have had Jackson Hunter do spring clean-up at my property along with trimming of the trees and bushes and weed removal + mulching (2015). Correy was prompt in responding to my request for a quote, and gave us a detailed quote for all the work that would be performed. His crew was prompt and professional and they did a nice job with yard cleaning, mulching and trimming trees and bushes. We also hired Jackson Hunter for spring clean-up and mulching at my parent's home the following year (2016). I would like to note that Correy is very professional when it comes to responding to customer's concerns: he returned my phone calls and my email correspondences in a timely manner - and he addressed all my questions to my satisfaction. I highly recommend Jackson Hunter for your lawn and yard work. I would have liked to use them for snow-removal services at my parent's home - their estimate was a little higher than the other quotes I received.
