I was skeptical hiring an outside contractor as I’ve always had referrals of family or friends to rely on. No one I knew had any ties to someone that did the work I was looking for and I was forced to look around. I knew immediately when I met Bill he was the type of person I could trust with this job. Not only because of his years of experience and positive reviews, but also because he expressed qualities in a person that go beyond the “business” end of the deal. He always returned phone calls, was punctual with appointments, courteous when designing the project, and professional every step of the way. He and his crew are loyal and honest and I was comfortable with them in my home when I was away. The basement looks amazing and I look forward to working with Higham construction in the future.

I cannot say enough good things about Bill. First of all, he was the only person we called that didn't quote us an outrageous price, while actually seeming to be the only competent person capable of handling our daunting project. He understood our vision, communicated clearly and concisely with us and was highly respectable when it came to our time, money and personal space. He finished the job in a reasonable amount of time, leaving us with a safe porch that was not just no longer an eyesore, but was absolutely beautiful. His attention to detail is impeccable - our porch is better than we ever thought possible.

I had a deck built by Higham Construction and it went very well. Bill came out within a couple of days of my initial call. Within a few days I had an estimate which was quite reasonable. After a short time waiting for HOA approval and city permits, the deck was built in about a week. The deck was built to my specifications and Bill promptly answered any questions I had. They also completely cleaned up after the project was completed.

Higham Construction did an excellent job on our new deck. We are extremely pleased with the work and professionalism they showed. My husband and I are building a house and didn't want the builder to do the railing on the back patio. I found Bill on Angies List and it was a great choice! We were under tight time constraints and Bill came out the next day. I didn't know what exactly I wanted so Bill talked through several options, gave great advice and pros and cons of all options. He was really responsive with his quote and all our questions. We hired him for the work and he and his crew did an AWESOME job! It turned out better than we ever expected. The workmanship was outstanding, the materials he used are high quality and the price was great! He gave us great advise and steered us away from a design that he didn't think would look good. I'm glad we too his advice. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND BILL! I'm going to see if there are any other projects we can hire him to do because he was so great to work with!

The work went extremely well and was all completed in one day. Old wood was removed and cleaned up. When they were gone you would no know that anyone had been there and that the job had been done. The started work at the time we were told and completed the job efficiently and professionally.

Extremely well! Bill Higham explained the job thoroughly, and answered any and all questions. His carpenters were amazing! It was obvious that they were very conscientious, experienced, and took great pride in their work. I am extremely pleased with the work Higham Construction did for me. At the first meeting Bill Higham listened to what I wanted done. He was very thorough in reviewing options and explaining possible problems (fortunately there weren't any surprises). His quote included the basics we talked about and the extras I expressed interest in. He was quick to respond to emails and phone calls. He let me know he was interested in working on my project without making me feel pressured. He accommodated my schedule when needed. He gave me a possible date that the work would begin. When weather delayed completion of other jobs he immediately contacted me and updated the schedule. He and his workers showed up on time and completed the work in a timely manner. They took time to plan the job out and solved possible difficulties before beginning to work. Attention was paid to details and the completed job looks great. I would highly recommend this company.

He was quick and got back to me quickly. They were good, but we didn't use them. We ended up getting it done a lot cheaper from another company.

We can't say enough about Bill and his crew from Higham Construction. From the meeting to review and estimate the work, to the final completion, he and his staff were professional, knowledgable, and courteous throughout the construction. Their work was neat and accurate. The timing/scheduling of the work was what he had promised. The original cost and add-ons were very reasonable for the work performed. The best thing about the project was how well Bill communicated with us. We could easily plan our schedules knowing exactly when he and his crew would be here. Five man crew including Bill Higham. Work performed middle of July 2016 through first week of August 2016 taking about 3 weeks to complete. Crew very professional and friendly. Have two small dogs and Bill accommodated their backyard bathroom trips with a ramp during construction. Cleaned work site at end of day, neatly staged materials to do as little damage to grass as possible. Kept us abreast of progress and estimated completion times for aspects of build.

Bill Higham and his crew are top notch! Bill has surrounding himself with a great team of professionals. We had our basement (approx900 sq ft) finished. Bill was involved continually during the construction process. All of his team including the framers,electritions, drywall installers and painters were professional. They arrived on time, completed their jobs in a timely manner, never left a mess, were courteous and respectful. Always consulted us during the construction process. We have no complaints or regrets and the basement looks awesome! Do not think twice about using Higham construction for your next project. Bill is so easy to work with and willing to please. He is very personable and makes you feel like you are the most important customer he has. We can't say enough about how glad we were that we chose Higham Construction for our project. Very well. Bill's crew showed up exactly when they were supposed to show up. They were very courteous and professional, and the workmanship is top notch. I was very pleased that he gave me a $375 credit because some work that we thought would need to be done, didn't need to be done. I would definitely use Bill Higham again for remodeling another area of my house.

This experience was absolutely fantastic from start to finish! I emailed Bill with a rough image of what I wanted the deck to look like. We exchanged a few emails (I asked for several different pricing options which Bill happily accommodated). We were able to align on everything via email before Bill came out which was very convenient for me. I gave Bill the signed contract on July 27. Bill had already submitted the drawings to the city and was able to get those approved a week later. He then came out to the house to take a quick look to make survey everything was good. The next step was waiting for the permit to be approved. Bill let me know it was approved on August 25th and he and his team would be out Monday morning (8/29) to drill the post holes. The inspector came out the next morning and by the end of the day, the deck had been framed and the boards put on. The guys came back out on Wednesday to put up the railing, steps and solid skirting. They finished up Wednesday afternoon. I was shocked that the entire process was done in 3 days! The quality of the work was excellent and Bill's guys do fantastic work. They even brought up my patio table/chairs onto the deck when they were finished which was incredibly nice of them. The deck is absolutely gorgeous! I would not hesitate to recommend Higham to anyone. Fantastic people and fair pricing, you really can't go wrong.

It was an excellent experience. Bill Higham was a pleasure to work with. He always showed up when scheduled (this should be a given, but unfortunately, this has not been my experience in the past). He provided excellent guidance and suggestions on the design and ways to save money without jeopardizing quality or aesthetics. Bill took care of the HOA and City permits in an efficient way and rearranged his schedule when my work schedule changed. His crew was on the job on time and finished the project in 2 days. They surprised me by moving all my furniture and flower pots up on the deck. Everyone who has seen the deck, raves about it and how it sets my house apart from all the others in the neighborhood. I unconditionally recommend Higham Construction and will use them again for future projects.

I was very pleased with Higham Construction. Bill, the owner was very easy to work with. I told him what I was looking for, he took careful notes and had some great suggestions, and not just "upselling" but ideas based on experience that wouldn't work, or wouldn't be value-added. His quote came with a nice 3D image of the deck. His crew was prompt, and over the course of a multi-day project, they tidied up after themselves nicely each day. The quality of the work is excellent, and the attention to detail was great. I highly recommend them!

Everything about our experience with Bill, from his first visit to provide a quote until the job was finished was wonderful. We contacted Bill last fall with a request for a quote to build a deck first thing in the spring. Even though the build date was months away, Bill promptly set up an appointment to visit our property and provide a quote for demo of our old deck and building a new, much improved one. During his first visit Bill spent over an hour with my husband and me, getting to know us and what we wanted out of our new deck. Within a week of that visit he delivered drawings to ensure we were on the same page. Once we provided confirmation, Bill provided the quote, which was in line with what we expected. (We requested a 2 tier deck connected by stairs running down the side of a hill, and butting up against an existing above ground pool.) As spring neared, Bill reached out to us and set a tentative start date, weather permitting. The week before that start date Bill reached out again to confirm it was a go and to let us know when he would arrive on our property the first day. From that point until the project was finished, Bill and his crew arrived by 8 a.m.. He also spoke with me or my husband daily to ensure we were happy with the progress and to let us know what to expect over the next couple days. Because of the way we wanted to design our deck, a few of the precise decisions (where to place the lower deck and the best way to place the stairs to ensure stability and give the esthetic we wanted) were left to be made once we saw how it was progressing. At each of the decision points in the build, Bill and my husband spend time looking at how things were playing out and discussing our options to firm up the next part of the plan. This process worked perfectly and gave us the deck we've been talking about since we bought our property 2 years ago. It was wonderful to work with someone as knowledgeable, flexible, timely, communicative, and considerate as Bill. We would hire him again in a heartbeat and highly recommend him to anyone looking to build a new deck.
