Description of Work: Higham Construction did a very good job of explaining the project. Due to the size of the project they were not able to perform the work. I appreciated the honesty from the owner to walk away from a project that was to big for them to complete. The only thing is that I was expecting drawings and they were not provided. I did not communicate this to the company. I will definitely recommend them.

Description of Work: Provider decided what I wanted was not something he could provide and said so. There was no attempt to try to persuade me to do something he was better prepared to do and he gave me name of people who might be able to do the task I had in mind. Since that time, I have changed my mind and will re-contact the provider to get an estimate on work that is better suited to his capabilities.

Description of Work: Higham Construction is unique in comparison to other tradesmen we have dealt with. He was timely, explained the processwe would go through for teh new deck, obatined the required permits from the City of Bechwood, started on time and built a beautiful deck. There were days of rain which he had indicated previously would delay the job, yet on each rainy day we received an email from him apologizing for the delay. Before final payment he "walked" me through the final project and indicated if there were problems after the winter, for any reason, to call him back and he would take care of it. I would highly reccomend him

Description of Work: We had a 12x14 pressure treated wood deck installed over cement stairs which led from our dining room door to the backyard. We chose a rectangular deck with a single set of stairs off the side. We got a quote from Higham last Summer. After having several quotes we found theirs to be by far the most reasonable. Despite this we decided to postpone the project due to finances. This year we call Bill back to see if he would honor last years quote. To our surprise he kept his word even though I'm sure prices have gone up. We had another business come out this Summer as well and his quote was over twice what we paid with Higham. The job was done well and completed in a week once it started! We had gravel delivered to our house to put under the deck to prevent weeds and expected to do this ourselves but his men spread it for us before we got home to see the final result. Another bonus was that he put a cubby in the deck for the hose spigot so that we didn't have to have this moved...a small detail that made life easier and the project less expensive. We are so pleased!

+ -1 moreHIGHAM CONSTRUCTION USED FOUR EMPLOYEES. THEY WORKED ALL DAY (8 HOURS) AND FINISHED IN LESS THAT 2 WEEKS. THEY WERE ALL VERY COURTEOUS, EFFICIENT, AND GOOD CRAFTSMEN.
Description of Work: FINISH BASEMENT INCLUDING 3 ROOMS, CEILING, PANELING, ELECTRICAL WORK AND FINISHING WORK.

+ -1 moreI HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES, AND HE JUST WONT RETURN MY CALLS. HE STARTED THE DECK, AND NOW HE WONT COME OUT OR CALL TO FINISH. WHEN HE GOT THE BUILDING PERMIT, HE SAID IT WOULD BE $2500, AND I WAS QUOTED $3800. THAT WOULD BE A DIFFERENCE OF ALMOST $1300. WHEN I FIRST TALKED TO HIM, I ASKED HIM WHEN HE STARTED THE JOB, WOULD HE STAY WITH IT UNTIL IT WAS DONE, AND HE SAID "YES WE DO". THE 2ND DAY, HE ASKED FOR THE DOWN PAYMENT OF $2500, AND THAT IS THE LAST I SAW OF HIM. HE WAS TO START THE JOB ON APRIL 16TH, AND HE SAID THE SUPPLIER DIDN'T DELIVER. ON APRIL 17TH, HE SAID THAT THE TRUCK BROKE DOWN. HE FINALLY STARTED THE JOB ON THE 21ST OF APRIL, AND HE ONLY WORKED 2 DAYS AND THEN STOPPED. ONE OF THE OTHER WORKERS SAID THAT HE WAS GOING TO START ANOTHER JOB. THAT WAS THE LAST I HAVE HEARD FROM THEM. I CALLED HIM ON THE 13TH OF MAY AND 15TH OF MAY AND ASKED HIM TO COME OVER ON THE 14TH BECAUSE IT WAS GOING TO BE NICE, AND HE NEVER CALLED BACK AND NEVER SHOWED UP.
