Erik was hired to install IKEA cabinets in our home for a full kitchen renovation. I felt confident in assembling the cabinets and finishing them (doors, hardware, drawers, toe kicks, etc) but we wanted a professional to make sure the cabinets were hung level, plumb, and square. From our first conversation it was obvious that Erik is an expert in all things IKEA. He provided some guidance and changes to our design to make some subtle improvements that would not have been obvious to us. He also immediately identified a critical flaw in our design that would have greatly impacted the final outcome but luckily we had enough time to get the proper replaced item. Communication with Erik was decent but be prepared for patience with emails and texts. Phone calls seemed to be most effective. Also be prepared to be patient for his schedule. Despite our efforts to plan ahead and get on “his radar” back in July, it still took several rounds of calls and discussions to finally get a week nailed down and the arrival day wasn’t determined until the week-of. You will need to be flexible. The installation was very fast - he had all of the work completed in one day. He is also very precise and detailed. He took time to show me how cabinets were anchored to the wall, that cabinets were level and prepped for the countertop template. He also cleaned up nicely, was courteous in our home and has a professional demeanor. The installation wasn’t without issue though. He accidentally stepped on a weak piece of our corner cabinet and broke it. His solution was to “sister” a piece below it. I was told it wouldn’t affect the countertops as this had no load bearing properties and it won’t be visible once countertops are installed. I believe that he is correct, and accidents happen, but it was disappointing as mishaps was something I wanted to avoid and large reason why we elected to hire someone rather than do the installation ourselves. No adjustment was made to the agreed upon price to account for the broken cabinet which I felt would have been the appropriate thing to do even it was a minor reduction. Overall, I would hire Erik again and be better prepared to be patient and clearly a communicate my expectations. He is precise, detailed, and very knowledgeable on IKEA systems. His involvement resulted in a nice overall outcome.

I cannot recommend Erik enough! He did a fantastic job and had wonderful attention to detail. Everything we asked him to do he did and then some! In a 100-year-old house there are many issues that arise - none of which Eric couldn’t tackle precisely and promptly. Looking forward to working with him again and would recommend him to all friends and family. 5 star review!

Great! He was very professional and I felt safe having him in my new home. He picked up the items I'd ordered from IKEA at the Pittsburgh location and delivered them to me. He also assembled them for me, as well as 3 additional items that I had purchased elsewhere (a small kitchen island, a storage cabinet, and a small chrome baker's rack). I live on the top floor of a triplex with steep, narrow, crazy stairways and randomly slanted ceilings. He even remarked on the narrowness of one section of the hallway up to my apartment, saying that he'd never seen anything like that. And yet somehow he got all of the boxes for the IKEA items (wardrobe, dresser, and bookcase) up there. He was very careful with my belongings and did a lot better job assembling everything than I ever could have done! He is very experienced, professional, and it is clear that he loves the work that he does and takes pride in it. We also had some very interesting conversations during the hours he spent at my place! In terms of the cost breakdown, the $828.39 total cost includes the cost of the IKEA furniture ($377.00), which means I was charged $451.39 for everything else. To me that seems like a bargain for the great service I received. I am so grateful for what he did for me, especially because I was having problems with my hands, wrists, and arms and could not do the work for myself even if I wanted to.

Erik was on the ball and very helpful. Despite us not going with his assembly and installation service, his attention and effort put into the design planning was great. He educated us along the way, recommended other vendors, contractors and products and had a very matter-of-fact and honest approach.

This was a FANTASTIC experience. I had wanted a specific sleeper sofa from Ikea and had considered picking it up and assembling it myself. My daughter has a similar model and said it was heavy & challenging for she and her husband to assemble. I found Mr. Gustav listed online & he is terrific. All I had to do was send him a copy of my 'shopping list' from the Ikea website & he placed the order & then the Ikea representative called to complete the payment. He was here exactly on time on the delivery date we agreed to & provided furniture pads to protect my hardwood floors. I was honestly surprised since there was quite a bit of ice this morning. I wanted the sofa upstairs in my 3rd bedroom & he unloaded, unpacked & carried everything upstairs & had it all assembled and was done in less than 1.5 hours from when he walked in the door. He made it so very easy for me, and I got to keep the big boxes for my nephew, although Mr. Gustav usually removes all packaging too. If you want an Ikea product and have been intimidated by the delivery and putting it together, Gustav & Sons will take care of everything for you. This was just a wonderful experience!

The job Mr Gustav did was excellent. he is very easy to work with and knows IKEA products inside and out. He can custom cut IKEA products as well if needed to adjust to the space needed. We would hire him again without reservation.

It went great. I had some Ikea items that would not fit in my car or most SUV/minivans (the sofa). Ikea only had delivery available on a day I worked. Erik also offers assembly and I was very tempted to have him do that but decided to do that my self. Very pleasant and professional. The Ikea team knew him. I still had to pay Ikea's home shopping fee to pick out the items (40). It did cost me 20 more than using Ikea but so much more convenient.
