BAUER & SON HEATING & COOLING

About two years ago we had our air conditioner stop working. We called One hour heating and air who sent out someone from Bauer and son to our house. They replaced the motherboard and the motor and the fan costing us about 1800 dollars. We had reservations about their work, so we had them come out a couple weeks later to look at it. They assured us everything was fine. Here we are not even two years later, same problem with the air conditioner. We had a different company come out and assess the problem. It was a problem with the motor and fan, and both need replaced. This time around it will cost me 735. We called one hour hearing and air and Bauer and son. They told us since it is outside of one year that they will not do anything about it. 1800 dollar service, lasted less than two years, and refuse to stand behind their products. There are plenty of other services in the area. Avoid one hour heating and air. Avoid Bauer and son.

We have been in this house for almost 4 years and have used them the entire time as we had a service contract left by the previous owner. During that time we were 'club' members which is supposed to give us same day service and some discounts. We did always get same day service but sometimes that meant 11 pm! We purchased an entirely new unit (furnace and AC) from them in 2012 and have had nothing but problems. The most recent interaction was that our service guy was not following directions and was screwing things up. They fixed the AC this summer-at no cost I believe-but we won't be using them again. If they employed 1 guy who screwed up for a year what does that say about their hiring and acceptance of employee standards? In summary: The amount above is just a number put in for the sake of the form. The guys who came out were always professional and polite. They did stick by the wording of 'same day service' but that often meant we hung around for hours or service was extremely late. They did stick by the warranty of the unit although they did try to charge us a service call and my husband had to fight them on that. And the unit they sold us ($8,000) has needed annual repair for the AC to work. They blame their service guy.

We have been using them to do our maintenance. They offered a decent package to put in a new furnace for us and we decided to go with them because of this. So far so good, however, it has only been a year!
