American Wood Reface

Overall: Everything went well, and the results are spectacular! We initially were planning to just reface, but decided to tear out the old and create a new layout, so it ended up being a full kitchen/great room remodel. Jason (the owner) was very flexible with us and kept the project moving. Because we did a remodel instead of refacing, the project did take a few months from start to finish, but now that it is complete, it was worth it! The process: We had never done any home remodeling before, so having Jason guide us through each step of the process was very helpful. He narrowed down what could/would work best in the space we had, as well as give good costs estimates for each option. We never felt pressured or rushed on our end because Jason provided a "decision" timeline, so we didn't have to make every choice at once, which would have been very overwhelming. Jason always responded to our questions and changes very timely. You feel like you're the only client, when you know he must be juggling countless accounts at once. The install: The carpenter, Brandon, built and installed each cabinet box and piece of wood, so there were no issues with quality or customization. His workmanship was excellent, and after seeing all the pieces and steps involved, it really makes me appreciate his skill. On top of being a wonderful craftsman, he was easy to have in our house everyday and very low key. He was polite, clean and thorough, and we had no problem trusting him in our home. He always put away dangerous tools and materials and kept the work area mess contained- which was very important for us having a toddler and 2 small dogs. Post install: In addition to the wood work/cabinets, American Wood Reface, also managed the install for the backsplash, countertop, new sink, and kitchen island. We had one issue with the tiling which was handled right away and Jason's follow-up was very timely. Also, we had an "add-on" at the end which was taken care of quickly. I'm in no rush to remodel again, but if I were to, I would definitely use American Wood Reface again! I highly recommend this company!!

Roger, the guy who did the refacing for us was great....did a beautiful job, was punctual and a pleasure to,have in our home..he was very careful with our dogs and cats, which we appreciated. He was responsive to everything we asked of him. On a whole the job took longer than we expected but with a few glitches, the comoany resolved everything in a very professional manner. Min the end we had a beautiful kitchen, cabinets countertop and tile work perfect. Would definitely recommend them to our friends and neighbors.

Went very well. Went from oak to white beadboard. Amazing how much brighter the kitchen is. Don't need lights during day and much brighter with 1 light on at night. The carpenter (Patrick) did a fantastice job. Everything looks great. He was very precise in detailing and making sure all cabinets were lined up perfectly. No complaints whatsoever. Great Job!!!!

We had a great experience with American Wood Reface. Mary Jo was such a professional who answered all of our questions and was attentive to details. We would also recommend asking for Ray as his craftsmanship and professionalism was excellent. He left every day with the kitchen cleaned and in working order...we were surprised that we could actually use the kitchen in the evenings! The quality of the products is very noticeable and the warranty is unbeatable. Overall we are so happy with the finished product!

The professionalism and expertise of this company has met or exceded that of any other company I have employed over the last 50 years. Mary Jo London, the representative who gave the estimate was knowledgeable, efficient, and personable. She offered many suggestions for modifications to my ideas which both saved money and made my new kitchen more convenient to use. Terry Awr, who came to measure, was exact in his measurements, double or triple checking each measurement. He made suggestions and asked several questions to ensure that I would be happy with the final outcome. The carpenter, Ray McElroy, was truly outstanding. His work was precise and beautiful. He cleaned as he worked which meant that my house was never a mess {except for the contents of the drawers and cupboards which I had in the living room and dining room}. Because I have 4 dogs, I stayed at hoe during the entire time that the remodel was in progress so that the dogs would not help with the work! Considering this, if the carpenter had not been personable, it would have been a terrible experience. Ray was friendly, intelligent and wonderful at explaining what he was doing. At one point he saw a minor scratch on a drawer front and refused to install it because it was not perfect! After his work was completed, he cleaned and swept everything, including the garage. Another thing that impressed me about American Wood Reface was their punctuality. When I asked when the counter would be installed, for example, I was given a date and time. It happened exactly as I was told. In short, anyone considering a remodel should consider this company. I could not be happier.

On February 20, 2018, American Wood Reface completed refacing of our kitchen cabinets, complete with new drawers, doors, hardware and trim. They utilized quality material in the refacing process. We were particularly impressed with Ray the installer. He thoroughly explained everything to us during the entire process and happily answered our questions in great detail. We were especially thankful that Ray did the work for us, he was very professional, courteous and especially personable. Thanks Ray! We would recommend Ray to do your job? Absolutely! We would also highly recommend American Wood Reface and would use them in future projects.

I could not have gone better. Customer satisfaction, attention to detail and quality work. My kitchen looks like brand new in less than four days. I only wish I'd done it sooner. Price below is for 23 doors, 4 drawers (new drawer boxes), new Lazy Susan and door handles (many no added cost styles to choose from and upgrades also available). Drawers are full extension and everything is soft close. The wood for my job was solid Cherry.

Very pleased with the installer and the quality of the work done. He was perfectionist in every way. Would highly recommend American Wood Reface to anybody looking to upgrade their kitchen.

I'm very happy with American Wood Reface's work. The quality & workmanship are excellent. All of the drawer fronts & the doors are thick, solid wood. They installed all new drawers in place of the hard to get into cabinets I had. The only part of my cabinets that aren't brand new are the boxes which are covered with real wood to match the doors & the interior shelves. I think their product is a really great & less expensive alternative to totally replacing the original cabinets. I would definitely recommend them to anyone upgrading their kitchen..

Excellent; their process is unique, very cost-effective and their quality is of the highest standard! We had a few glitches which they promptly addressed to my total satisfaction. A highly professional and responsive company who I can totally recommend.

The carpenter did an excellent job with preparing the cabinets for new countertops (making them flat). After the countertops were installed he refinished the cabinets by removing the old doors and old drawers then applying 1/4 inch plywood to the cabinet sides and 1/4 inch hard wood to the cabinet faces. The company made new drawers, drawer fronts and doors. The new drawers were from the same wood species as drawer fronts - they were dovetail design (at all the joints). They installed under cabinet low voltage lightening and added some extra details (back of the island now has a "picture frame" or floating panel design). They also converted the island cabinet from 2 drawers / 2 doors to six drawers greatly increasing the storage potential of the island. The carpenter was professional and courteous - he never stopped moving from the time he arrived till the time he left. He cleaned up after himself everyday (i.e. vacuum up any dust / chips) - he hauled away the old drawers and doors. I was hesitate at first to try cabinet refinishing since I thought it would look cheap but this company changed my mind. I would recommend this company to family and friends

I used them once several years ago to reface my kitchen cabinets. It came out gorgeous! When it was time to reface by bathroom cabinets, I went back to them. They are efficient, neat, conscientious, and truly care about the finished product. I can't say enough about how happy I am with this company.

Very well. Scott always did a professional job and was extremely neat at the end of the day. He had everything completed on time. We expected a huge mess with sanding of wood, etc., but with everything being precut before it came to our house, it was wonderful. We were amazed at how the whole project went so smoothly and neatly. Ron, Scott and each person we were in contact with were very pleasant and handled their own job very professionally. We would definitely recommend AWR if you want to have your kitchen updated.

Derik arrived on time. Was friendly and respectful. He got to work and even finished early. He was neat and cleaned up every day before leaving. He answered all my questions.

I wanted to wait a few weeks after the job was completed to see how everything held up. I have to say that the work that AWR did was fantastic in every way down to the finest detail and still is. Our first contact was Mary Jo in sales. She did a great job explaining exactly what had to be done and how we should prepare. There was no pressure and no up-selling. She brought an amazing amount of samples and she quoted a price on the spot that did not change throughout the job. She really knows her stuff. We then had someone (cant remember his name) visit to do the detail measurements. I was amazed at how much time they took to ensure that every little detail was covered. There were a couple of follow-up calls to clarify some things. The job started on the day it was scheduled. Our carpenter was Brandon and he was amazing. His attention to detail is nothing short of spectacular. I never once saw him take a break (even for lunch) and I never once saw him sit down. He even came one Sunday morning to finish up a particular item that had been short a part. These people are really good at what they do. They quote a price, turn up on time, clean up at the end of every day, take great care to avoid any kind of damage and then do great work. Our kitchen is transformed. It is way brighter and has a classic but modern country kitchen look and feel. I wish all contractors behaved in this way. I usually don't write reviews like this but felt the need in this case. When you come across a company that does high quality (both service and product) work it is important to recognize it. We are very happy with the whole experience and the professionalism of everyone involved. The minor inconvenience of having our kitchen out of service for the duration of the job was worth every penny we paid.

The well-trained carpenter came to our home for 9 days of work which was done to perfection. He was punctual every day and nice to have in our home. Our kitchen looks marvelous.

OMG!!!! These people are the best! Patrick Hill did the work on our kitchen. He was punctual, reliable, meticulous in his workmanship and is an all-around pleasure to work with! Beautiful, beautiful job! It's exactly how our kitchen is supposed to look and function!

The most stress-free construction project I've ever experienced. My husband kept saying that there was nothing wrong with the old cabinets and that they looked "fine". I just HATED them. Happy wife, happy life. He finally relented. We are both so happy with the new look. They are fabulous. Nice wood, not that glue on laminate. No sleezy sales people either. Cost more than I expected. But as they say, "You get what you pay for".

Professional craftsmanship and materials were used by American Wood Reface. Meticulous attention to detail was provided by installer, Rick Johnson. Already had new Granite counter-tops and thus went with refacing for less downtime/expense than full replacement. Island support structure was reinforced by Mr. Johnson to adequately support existing granite slab. Minor surface flaws on one panel was promptly corrected within two days.
