Description of Work: We have a five year contract with Ackworth Construction for our roof which was replaced on 7/31/12. We had storm damage and received partial payment from our insurance company for the roof replacement. | |Ackworth was a recommendation from our insurance company's adjuster. We replaced all of the wood on the roof due to damage as well as other upgrades in the contract that were not included in the insurance settlement. | |Ackworth Construction had to return several times to repair faulty work. First, to replace shingles as they were tearing off the roof. Instead, of replacing them, the old shingles were glued back in place. There was also miscommunication with the siding that was to be replaced and it wasn't. Even the flashing was not replaced as the contract stated, instead the old flashing was sprayed with black paint. | |Currently, we have issues with mold by the stack and overhang. Ackworth continues to blame the issues on the lack of insulation. However, the insulation was removed because it was wet. Also, the new wood (OSB board) is pulling up away from the trusses. The OSB board was found to be installed without spacers on much of the roof. The OSB board is starting pulling up in all sections of the roof where there are no spacers | |In reality, the job was subcontracted by another company and the owner of Ackworth, John Ackworth claims he does not do roofing anymore. He has also refused to disclose the name of the company who did our roof so that we could deal directly with them. |

There were some issues since then, but what is very important to me, is that they came out and took care of them like they said they would, there was no hassle, and I didn’t have to wait, I didn’t get delays. They came out when they said they would, and they came back when the said they would and took care of it. Hopefully, I will be using them again next year.
Description of Work: I used Ackworth Construction to put in a new roof for my house.
