I wanted to buy a double oven that was on sale, and the salesperson was very good and the only knowledgeable person on the floor. He did what he could to help me. Managers of a certain level are the ones to make that order, and no one was there that day to make that order (for the double oven.) It took a long time to talk to the managers who could even answer questions. They kept my check and I had to call them a week later. They said they were out of stock and it would take a few weeks. I used to be a project manager and know how things work, and I asked follow-up questions. They gave me the run-around. They were supposed to call me back and they didn’t, so I got my money back, which they did quickly. Another company was able to explain the back order to me easily, and the other company's regular price was $100 lower. I think there’s some game-playing with the prices as well – they won’t look at small businesses’ prices to compare. I thought it was interesting that I wasn’t offered a survey to fill out but my friend did. I know it wasn’t the people on the floor’s fault; it was just inappropriately staffed on a managerial level and the managers didn’t get back to me. The salesperson did very well in the situation. I was disappointed, because Best Buy has always been a good experience before this.

That was an awful experience, and I will never ever recommend anybody to use them. I think their pricing is a little high because I got a better stereo for a better price. I don’t think they took too long to install it. I will never use them in the future. I talked to the manufacturer of the stereo and they told me that there was nothing they would do about it. My husband is an attorney and he wrote them letters but nothing happened. I would ask others not to buy anything expensive from them as they do not guarantee their products. More over they have kids working there who do the installation and I don’t think they know what they are doing. I think car stereo work should go to the place where they specifically do that.
Description of Work: I used Best Buy/Geek Squad 2009 to install a stereo. I bought the stereo from them and had them install it in my car. The technician spilled water in it and installed it in my car anyway. They then tried to tell me that they would not take it back. They took it out from the box and put it in my car and ruined it. I got struck with a $350 stereo that was worthless. I don’t think they charged me for installing it.

We purchased a LED TV. It worked for a short period of time and stopped working. We returned it the same day. We were told efforts would be made to get next day delivery. This appears not to have happened.
Description of Work: Purchased a LED TV. Retuned it the same day as defective. Noe available in the store, promsed next day delivery. Delivery is scheduled for two days later There appears to be communication issues at BestBuy. One has no way of communicating complaint to corporate. Bets Buy appears not to have the consumer interest in mind.

Poor experience. They claimed that they took care of this all the time, and said it would take a couple of days. Over a week later, and after my operating system was destroyed and reloaded, they never called to let me know it was fixed. I called them. Also, the female technician was incredibly condescending.
Description of Work: Had a virus crop up on my desktop and took it in for removal.

We are having the geek squad come out this Saturday. They will hook it up to a computer and really calibrate it after two weeks. The settings are not extremely high on the TV. They adjust the settings to make sure you have the best high quality definition. They make sure it is not at the maximum setting where everything is so bright. They make sure the settings are appropriate. You TV will last longer after the adjustment. When the TV comes in the store, it is set to maximum capacity. You would be better off getting it calibrated because the TV lasts longer. The quality will be better and you can see the definition of very little thing. The TV looks wonderful right now. You will see a boatload of things once it is calibrated with the computer. I really liked the experience and the selection that they had. I knew to go with Samsung because I spoke with a high end audio store in Columbus, Ohio. They only deal with the best products. They told me to buy a Samsung or another product. I was looking at these specifically. I visually compared the LED and LCD. I knew the LED was better than the LCD once I saw them. I went with the LED. I like their selection and the way they answered the questions. I knew that I was going to go out the door with a complete steal. They were very happy and willing to lower the sales price from what was shown. I know you have to buy a repair package. There is no way in the world to get these TV’s fixed without grief once they break. They basically gave me a break on the service package as well. You always wonder if you are doing the right thing by buying here or there. I think both the geek squad and Best Buy seem to know what they are doing. When they came out to install it, they were very professional.
Description of Work: I purchased a television from here. I also got a laptop and a service agreement for both. I ended up buying a Samsung 55 inch, LED, high definition TV. They gave me a discount the TV and the service agreement. We put in the back of our car. The geek squad came out and hooked everything up a few days later. They made some adjustments.

We used Geek Squad in the fall 08 for installing a new wireless printer. After our first experience, we referred them to my parents for installation of a web camera. My parents live in the southern part of the state, 3.5 hours away. They had a good experience. On 12/29/08, called to have GS come out to fix some issues with our printer and some software. The original appointment was on 1/4/09 between 12-4 pm. The appointment was not kept. My husband called in and found out the tech had mistakenly called my parents' home. My parents had their original appointment kept and canceled our appointment unknowingly. It was never explained to me why my parents' telephone number was listed as the contact person. The best GS could do was to schedule a second appointment on 1/8/09 between 4-8 pm. On 1/5/09, I called in and requested that an appointment be scheduled for us that day as it was GS who errored. It took 3 tries to get to a supervisor in "Dispatch Control". During the first attempt, my call was dropped. In the second try, I was transferred to a voicemail asking for a three digit code which I had not been given. On the third attempt, the "agent" stayed with me throughout the transfers. The "Team Leader" in Dispatch Control stated that he would send out an email to the District Field Manager requesting an earlier appointment but it could take up to 24 hours for a response. I was assured that I would get a followup call. At this point, I ended the call. I did not receive the followup call on 1/6/09. Again I called in (now the 4th time). I asked to be recorded and that I wanted to talk with the supervisor. An hour later, no earlier appointment could be made. I asked that my service call be free of charge. I was suppose to get a call from a DFM but as before, never did. I made a "formal" complaint. During the window for our appointment on 1/8/09, I received a call stating the tech had been in an accident and the agent asked to reschedule. At this point, we declined future services with this company. While their commercials are catchy, the quality of service from the support staff is very poor. Stay away from this company.

It was a nightmare. The phone never held charges and I had to take them back on more than one occasion, until they explained to me that I had run out of warranty. The sales person then told me that I should have purchased the extended warranty. My phones still weren't fixed, and I have since had to throw them away.

Price was good. Discount on Blu Ray player with purchase. Geek Squad set up easily, connected BluRay and Satellite in my entertainment center. Services priced by each little thing needed, and they could not do anything for my computer glitch while they were there.

The staff is knowledgeable about their products. When he came out, he was honest and told me that he couldn't do anything with it. I thought the whole process was very pleasant. Since the computer wasn't repaired, I didn't spend anything. They were able to give me the hard drive of my computer.

Overall, they did a good job. At first, one of the speakers didn't work, but they determined the problem and fixed it right. The price was kind of high, but I guess they all are.

They used subs for the installation. The installer didn't hook up the ice maker correctly, and about an hour after they installed the refrigerator, the ice maker started leaking and flooded our hole downstairs. It was horrible. It caused damage to flooring, walls in the basement, and they ended up having to replace that refrigerator anyway. It was a mess. And then our homeowners insurance had to battle it out with Best Buy to get them to cover the cost. It was very bad.

PURCHASED A SATELLITE RADIO RECEIVER AND HAD IT INSTALLED IN A CAR. I HAD LOOKED AT THE RECEIVER A FEW TIMES AND WHILE LOOKING WAS TOLD IT WOULD TAKE 45 MINUTES TO INSTALL THE RECEIVER ON SITE. HOWEVER WHEN I WENT IN ON A SATURDAY AND PURCHASED AND ASKED THEM TO INSTALL THEY EXPLAINED IT WAS FIRST COME-FIRST SERVED IN THE AUTO INSTALLATIONS AND I HAD TO LEAVE MY CAR THERE UNTIL THE END OF THE DAY (ABOUT 4 HOURS). IT DOES COST EXTRA TO HAVE THE RECEIVER HARD WIRED FOR POWER TO YOUR CAR AND IT ALSO COSTS EXTRA FOR AN ADDITIONAL OR ALTERNATIVE MOUNTING EQUIPMENT YOU MIGHT NEED, SAY FOR INSTANCE YOU WANT A CUP HOLDER MOUNT INSTEAD OF THE WINDOW SUCTION CUP MOUNT. I HAD TO GO BACK TO BEST BUY BECAUSE THEY ACTUALLY OVER CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD $20 FOR THE INSTALLATION.
