 + -1 moreHe called ahead to let me know he was on his way, which was nice. He worked fast but did a good job. Turns out I needed to replace my kitchen faucet, he recommended a kind of faucet then came back after another job to install it. He also gave me tips on how to avoid issues with the faucet, and he advised me what to do on my own if I ran into problems in the future. I would definitely recommend.

 + 0 morePetrie Plumbing was able to come out right away when we were having problems with water backing up into our kitchen sink and laundry room. They were able to quickly find and fix the problem, and the we felt the cost was very fair. They even gave us a tip to help prevent it from happening again. So thankful for their prompt and effective service! We would definitely call them again.

 + 0 moreWhile he did the work that I requested, I feel that the price he charged was too high. After my experience with him I checked with two other plumbers in my area and found that they would have charged me approximately $135 for the half hour's work that this plumber performed.

 + 0 moreDidn't last long. Hot water tank went out completely. Did not use them for new tank. Used another plumber who was cheaper and did a great job for the money.
Description of Work: Checked hot water tank. No getting enough oxygen.Used something to obtain proper color of flame. Said if problem exist, will have to have new tank, but told me he didn't think I would have a problem.

Instructed me to call back when parts were purchased. They installed new kitchen sink faucet and apparatus. Very helpful, professional and completed job quickly. Fantastic customer service! Would definitely use again.

 + -1 moreHe had to leave to find a correct as the piece as the one being replaced had a brass finish which is not an everyday item these days. I would use them again.
Description of Work: This was a simple job of replacing the brass stopper and drain line on a bathroom sink because another plumber had incorrectly installed a faucet in 2012. This plumber was very professional.

 + -1 moreMike arrived when he said he would, worked efficiently and neatly. I don't think it was an easy job because the bathroom is so tiny, and he had to work in a small, crowded space between the vanity and the shower. Nevertheless, he completed the work in the time he had estimated it would take. I was told when I called for the appointment, that the fee would be $85 per hour. He stayed within the estimated time for the new seal, and also repaired a problem with the flushing mechanism and put on a new seat. He cleaned up afterward. I am confident that he did a great job; that the repair will last for a long time.
Description of Work: He lifted up the toilet and replaced the seal underneath. Then he replaced the toilet seat with a new one I had purchased before.

Description of Work: My kitchen faucet caused a leak under the sink and I discovered it on a Sunday. Although not a true emergency I called early Monday and had my call returned immediately and the faucet was replaced around noon on that same day.

They were very professional, fast, and really seemed to enjoy their work. It's nice to have work done around the house by real craftsman; I never felt it was about the amount of $ they could make from me. I give them my full recommendation.

 + 0 moreMike Petrie does all my plumbing. He was recommended to me by my dad and it's some of the best advice he's given me...call Mike! Mike replaced a water heater in my home, he replaced many of my old pipes with copper (the house is 100 years old) and today he fixed the valve to the dishwasher that was completely blocked. He's trustworthy, his prices are more than fair, he's totally competent and he's efficient. I would recommend him to anyone!
Description of Work: For this small project, Mike replaced a valve to my dishwasher. We noticed that the dishes were never clean...this went on for longer than I care to admit. Finally, I called Sears and they sent someone out to look it over. They told me that there were no problems with the dishwasher and that I needed a plumber. What a bummer...i spent $120 with Sears for them to tell me the washer wasn't broken and they couldn't solve my problem. When i talked to him on the phone, he said he had a good idea what the problem was. He fit me into his schedule and showed up and quickly resolved the clogged valve by replacing it with a new one. He showed me what was wrong and explained the problem to me and most importantly, the dishes are clean now...for less than the price of Sears coming to tell me they couldn't fix it!

 + 1 moreThis was a complicated situation because I was in Florida and the problem was in Ohio. My daughter, who was in my house to check on it, called to tell me the basement was flooded. She could not hear the sump pump running, and the breaker was "on." I called Mike on a Sunday night and left a message; he returned the call first thing Monday morning. I explained my situation to him, and at my request Mike called my daughter to schedule an appointment to get into the house on Tuesday morning. He arrived as scheduled, met my daughter and fixed the problem. He called me in FL and explained in detail what he did, and took my credit card info for payment. He charged $375 which I felt was not unreasonable based on what I paid to fix the identical problem 3 years ago.
Description of Work: Mike replaced a failed sump pump, cleaned out the pipes leading into and from the pump and tested the new pump.

Due to the additional height of our counter tops, Mike went above and beyond normal expectations in wrestling with the complete installation of a very heavy slide-in-range. In addition to his excellent performance of a time and labor intense job, he came in under estimate as well. We are very pleased.
Description of Work: We replaced our electric range with a gas range. Mike ran a gas line from the basement to the first floor kitchen. He also installed a full port valve under our kitchen sink for our water purifier.

Description of Work: We had the old pipes replaced with the new PEX pipes throughtout the house. they tied in to the existing copper where they could. They also installed a new kitchen faucet, new fixture in the shower and they replaced the guts to the toilet.

 + -1 morePetrie Plumbing came to us recommended by both our real estate agent and our home inspector. Bill was very flexible, and rescheduled to come at a time we were home. He showed up right on time and performed the fixes in about an hour. We were worried about the shower faucet, having heard what a problem this particular faucet could be, but he repaired it in no time. He also advised us on what faucet types we should buy (without trying to sell us anything) - should we ever decide to replace ours. All for a very reasonable price: $90 total.
