Description of Work: The service included full-home, radon and termite inspections. Brian (from Guardian) was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Description of Work: Brian was early to the inspection. He made it a point of first sitting down with me to explain what he was going to do and encouraged me to follow along with him. Brian was very thorough. Brian opened every window, flushed every toilet and checked all the outlets. He showed me things to pay attention to and explained how things worked. He also went up into the attic through a smallish hole in the hallway. I am very satisfied with his work and work ethic. I will be recommending him!

Description of Work: Whole home inspection, radon test and termite inspection. Brian called a few hours before my appointment, asking if I minded if he came early. By the time I arrived at the home, Brian and Richie were all set up and had started doing an inspection on the outside of the house. Brian stopped to catch me up and to explain how they document their work and write the reports. He then continued on the whole home inspection. Both Brian and Richie were very thorough and professional. They explained everything in detail, and stopped several times to allow me to ask questions or to look at something specific I had noticed. Following the inspection, I received all my reports the same evening and got recommendations on companies to remedy some of the issues that were noted. All in all, they were very professional and I would definitely use them again.

Termite inspection was performed by a third party and did what they were supposed to do. Price was slightly higher than that of other companies but I felt the professionalism was worth the extra cost and I would use this vendor again.

 + -1 moreThey were very responsive. I explained that I wasn't moving or selling the house but that I needed it for my own knowledge and he understood the purpose for it. His reports are extremely thorough and he does a summary at the end which says what things I should absolutely fix and what things would be nice to fix. He called out two things that were fire hazards. He was extremely knowledgeable and told me what he could and couldn't look at. When I asked him a couple of questions, he went back and looked at those things more closely. He had a digital camera, so the report actually includes pictures pointing out what the issues are.

 + -1 moreBrian T. Kirchmer handled the inspection. He was there a right on time (actually a few minutes early). Brian was friendly and very, very thorough and took time to explain and offer advice. We wished we would have had Brian inspect the last house we purchased. His report included photographs with arrows indicating areas for attention. He crawled the entire attic and went up on a ladder as the roof allowed. For example he checked every door, window (by opening every one he found one that was painted shut) cabinet, outlet, etc. His experience in construction helped us to understand what was very good about the house and the probably reasons for some areas needing attention. A great guy and a terrific service.

 + -1 moreWe are having a home built by a local builder. We hired Brian to perform an independent inspection prior to insulation and drywall. Brian discovered several items which needed the builder's attention. In addition many minor problems, he found a code violation with regard to how the brick sills were installed. We gave the report to our builder (who initially wasn't too happy to receive the report.) However, our builder quickly agreed that Brian's report was accurate and all items on Brian's report have been addressed by our builder! For the one item which was a code violation, if we hadn't caught that one until after the house had closed, it could have cost us tens of thousands of dollars to bring the house up to code if we were to try to resell the house at some point in the future.
