Countertops and Cabinetry By Design

Great. Very professional from initial discussion through the installation. Final cost was right in line with the original estimate. We are very pleased with the new look.

Very quick turnaround from ordering to installation. Installers very knowledgeable and thorough. Mistake made on cost by salesperson and have been promised a refund of overpayment.

I went to Countertops and Cabinets by Design for a qoute on granite countertop and semi-custom cabinets. There was a particular granite slab we liked. They quoted $81 per sq ft for the countertop. We got a quote on the same piece of granite from another granite installer at a price of $55 / sq ft, for the exact same slab! They were $26 per square foot more in price. What a rip-off! Their total price for 62 square feet was $5102. We installed for a price of $3620, for the same granite countertop and installation. We also quoted them for cabinets. They were again the highest priced vendor. We had them quote using KitchenCraft semi-custom cabinets, which is a fairly standard cabinet company used by many vendors. We quoted them against Lowes and still higher priced than the big box stores. Ultimately because was price, we used other Angie's List vendors that were highly recommended but gave better prices. It was good. I rather not say the cost. It took them about two and a half weeks. It was cabinet replacement, faucets, and appliances. It was excellent, it was a really good experience. Just the quality of work and the time involved. It didn't drag out, it was done in a very timely manner.

Excellent. Returned my calls quickly, The work was done on time. Staff is pleasant to work with. The countertops are beautiful !

I stopped in and three sales people hung out with me for 30 minutes going through options. I was optimistic about the process. I emailed my design. Emailed a week later. Nothing again. Stopped in and was told they would get back to me. Nothing. So, two visits and two emails. They collected my name and even sent me a written note after my first visit. I'm not sure what happened other than I inquired if they were competitive with Lowes- maybe this was my signal that they were not.

Great service - a manager came out to ensure everything looked correct and made a minor fix that I didn't even know needed fixed. Very good experience.

Very happy with the outcome. Installers were on time, friendly, hard working and cleaned up after themselves. A month after install cabinet doors expanded with change of weather and installer returned and adjusted them soon after I called. The design help given in the West Chester store was excellent.

The day before scheduled installation, the company called to reschedule because the material had not come in. Of course by then all the existing countertops and sink had been removed so we had no kitchen to use while we waited. After installation there were a number of issues. 1) The main counter was fabricated over 1/2" too long so they cut a hole in our wall and poked the counter into it so it "fit". 2) One of the seams on the main counter is flush to start but by the end of the seam there is a gap which they filled with epoxy, but it is very noticeable. 3) Two of the shelves have notches in what should be a straight cut. So instead of fitting flush against the walls, they have a gap. All of these issues are the result of miss-measuring or miss-cutting and result in a sloppy appearance. We contacted the company a week ago and they asked us to send them pictures (as opposed to sending someone over to actually look at the problems). We have not heard back from them since. Update: The company finally responded to our concerns and sent a representative out who replaced one of the more unsightly slabs - so I changed the overall satisfaction rating from D to C. He said that they had switched from cutting the stone using an NC machine with a router to using a water jet cutter, and they were having some issues with it. I would recommend that customers wait until they get things figured out before they hire them.

Process was was relatively quick and painless. Stephanie our sales person guided us through the process, discussed the pros and cons of granite vice other surfaces and helped us to pick out which granited went best with our current kitchen color scheme. Once we made our decsions and decided on which granite the whole process took about 2.5 to 3 weeks. (They already had the granite we wanted in stock) Stephanie was there throughout to answer question and remind us when the templating person was coming and what we needed to do to prep. (clean off the counters) The installation day arrived and the guys showed up promtly and the work started, by the evening we had our new countertops and everything reconnected and cleaned up. All the people we encountered were top notch, - very professional and courteous. Overall a great company and good folks. The main factor that caused us to choose Countertops and Cabinetry by Design was it was essentially one stop shopping, the price was fair and they did great work. By one stop shopping - We did not have to find someone to disassemblel and reassemble the countertops, plumbing or electrical. - They did it all. My wife and I are very pleased.

Did not end up using this company for our project. Their selection of materials was more expensive and not as good of a match to our existing kitchen as the company we went with. They did not come out to house for the quote. They seem to nickel and dime you for every part of install

When they first arrived, it was discovered that the counter tops were incorrectly cut. They immediately fixed the problem and were able to install the counter tops as promised.

Everything went extremely well. When we bought our home, the sink was cracked. I tried to get more than one estimate but Coutertops and Cabinetry by Design was the only company interested in quoting the project. The day of the install, the owner came along with the installer to make sure everything went according to plan. They had to cut the old Corian sink out of the countertop. The process was very dusty due to cutting out the old sink and sanding the countertop but the end product was well worth it. I love the new sink and faucet and the countertops look brand new.

Working with them was great, the guys who installed were right on time, they were very informative on their process. Everything from walking into the showroom, to templating with Brandon, viewing my Slab and installation went smoothly. Would recommend to anyone.

They did an excellent job. It looks great!

Provided estimate for complete remodel of kitchen, laundry and 1/2 bath areas. Included cabinetry, countertops, sinks, basically everything but flooring. Also involved some structural work since the wall layout was changing slightly. The process went very well. Worked with Krista to come up with a project estimate based on a design layout done by another remodeler. Krista was very competent and professional, understood our needs and explained our options. Although we choose to go with another company, I'm confident CCBD could have done a very satisfactory job. Would recommend to anyone doing kitchen work of any size, consider them as a potential supplier. [Update 3/5: Removed the price from this review (very job specific).]

amazingly efficient! Took only one day to completely install. Everything looks lovely. They did great work and were an easy company to work with. We loved visiting the showroom and picking our slabs, They were very accommodating. We started out seeking one product (which would have been more expensive), but we learned about and were won over by the granite we finally selected.

It was a difficult project, but going with Countertops and Cabinetry by Design was truly the best decision that we made. They were incredibly courteous while at the house, they stayed on schedule, and they did a fantastic job in all respects. We'd definitely recommend their services to others.

Everything was great. Everyone I dealt with was very friendly and easy to work with. When they came to measure and then install they were earlier than the scheduled time (about 30 minutes) which was great! Love the countertops!

I have been thinking about writing this review for months. First, let me say that the installers were all a joy to be around. I felt comfortable having them in my house and they were all very friendly, talked to my kids, happily moved their trucks when asked, etc. I am a totally reasonable person and was calm throughout the bathroom remodel process, but I value Angie's List and I thought it was my duty to write this review. From start to finish, this process took a little over a year. Guest bathroom: Everything went pretty smoothly in this bathroom. Only a few minor issues that is to be expected with a remodeling job. I did have a few things that I wish I wouldn't of gone with regarding the design and thought that I could of been steered in a better direction. Ex: the door to the medicine cabinet is a ton bigger than the actual cabinet. Ex: We already had can lights in there but it was recommended to us to add lights on the mirror and now it is SO bright! Master bathroom: The incorrect vanity was ordered and had to be re-ordered and that put the job behind for about a week. The wainscoting on the walls had to be totally replaced because it warped after 6 months of use. They used wood (which expands and contracts) so there were large gaps between the slots. The entire area had to be repainted. The shower is floor to ceiling subway tile and the tile cracked from floor to ceiling on one wall and about halfway up the wall on another wall. This also happened after about 6 months. They replaced the tile on the two sides, but it doesn't quite match the rest of the shower now. Wondering why they didn't just replace the 3rd wall. This shower error was due to them not adhering the drywall (for lack of better word) behind the tile and it bowed after use and thus cracked. They admitted this error after they saw their mistake after taking off the tile on both walls. The granite in the shower was not sealed and thus had to be heat treated after it had gotten wet. They also did not put the granite bench at an angle so the water just stayed on top of the bench. This piece of granite was replace and repositioned. It still retains water because it was not again angled enough when installed. We were charged for items that we did not end up using because of incorrect measurements. Ex: towel bar that was too big for the space that the designer put it in. TP holder, hooks, etc. After asking for a refund for about 6 months, the total was refunded to our credit card last week. That pretty much sums up the process. Given my experience, I regret using this company and would steer others away from using them too. I was hoping to get an apology given all of the stress of this situation, not to mention the extra time that they were in my house if the work would of been done correctly (my estimation would be an unnecessary 3 weeks if the work would of been done correctly). I just kept on hearing "This has never happened before" Very disappointing way to spend $35,000.

Visited the office for design and discussion of the work to be done. Excellent design suggestions were provided and quickly were able to determine what we were happy with. Work was scheduled for after the first of the 2014 year. They were there on the day agreed upon, although not the names we were given. Demo started in the kitchen first and then the first bathroom. We even went on vacation for 10 days and they provided daily pictures and updates. When those rooms were completed, the other bathroom was then worked on. In all, about six weeks of work. All workers were courteous and cleaned up after themselves every day. Quality workmanship was evident. The only issue we had were the two toilets put in are powerful and suck some of the water out of the other toilet. We worked to the issue to our satisfaction. Very satisfied with the results and we get many complements.

My initital point of contact was Dennis at the Montgomery store -- he was easy to work with, supportive and helpful. Everyone was on time -- from the person who took the measurments to the installers. They were all very professional -- they made the installation look easy -- in just half a day old countertops were removed and new installed -- they look great. I have had many contractors at my home and I can sincerely state, with no reservations, these guys were the best -- all of them.

I think they were a little expensive. We may have paid a little more, but we've been satisfied.

I stopped into their showroom in West Chester, without an appointment, and was greeted promptly and courteously. I provided a rough sketch and measurements of my kitchen, and was shown several options for countertops, and given an estimated cost for each one. After working with me on what I wanted and needed, I was given a print out with an estimated cost. About two weeks later I stopped in and asked for some samples to see what the different colors would look like in my kitchen, and picked 4 or 5 options. The next day, I returned and placed my order. A day and time were scheduled for installation, and for someone to come out and measure for the templates. Both the man who came out to measure and the installers were there on time, answered my questions, worked efficiently and were very pleasant. Everyone I dealt with from Countertops and Cabinetry By Design was prompt, personable and professional. I couldn't be more pleased with the result. The quartz countertops are beautiful, and my kitchen looks great! I would recommend them to anyone.

They did an excellent job. We received estimates from three companies/contractors. One was much more expensive than CAC but the other estimate was very close. We chose CAC because several friends recommended them and we loved the design Tyler created. My husband and I are "design challenged". Tyler managed to put together a kitchen that we love with little input from us. Gutting and rebuilding an entire kitchen plus putting new flooring in the half bath and entry way can be a very trying experience. Rob at CAC made it as painless as possible. The project took about 4 to 5 weeks. Although there were several issues that occurred during the project (none due to CAC), they managed to stick to their schedule. We could not be happier with our kitchen. We love the design and all the components Tyler chose. Rob did an excellent job managing the entire project. All the people who worked at our house were extremely polite and did great work. We had several follow up items and Rob took care of them quickly and painlessly.
