Description of Work: I have Goodman high effeciency HVAC system, recently noticed that there is a water leak (drop at a time )from inside. called another company, they confirmed that it is secondary heat exchanger gone bad and needs replacement, estmated cost to replace is 1900, Then i called AL heating for second opinion, Leo from AL visited, he confirmed that it is not heat exchanger it is the sealant that traps the water from heat exchanger gone bad, ordered the part from Good man, total cost of replacement was 150$. Everything working good now. He also figured and fixed another issue that i face with this unit. The until does not start after long long hours of idle, the fix was the pressure value pipe is not draining moisture it collects and unit was able get correct pressue when it starts. Overall I am very happy with their service.

I was expecting to need to make an appointment, wait a week or more, find out what was needed, wait another week or so for parts and installation, etc. Instead, everything was done in less than a day and a half. Everyone I spoke with or who came to my house was friendly and competent. No one tried to push me to buy anything additional that I didn't need.
Description of Work: I turned on my AC for the first time for the season and discovered it wasn't working. I checked Angie's List for a company nearby and found Al's Heating & Cooling. Gave them a call that morning, the technician came that afternoon and determined that my outside unit was dead and needed to be replaced. It also turned out that, because of the age of my furnace (20+ years), they might not be able to match an outside unit to it (because of gov't regulations pertaining to SEER ratings), so I might need a new AC unit outside AND a new furnace. Big dollar signs! The tech told me not to panic, though; he thought they had units in their warehouse that would work with the furnace. The next morning another man came out and checked things out and assured me they could match my furnace and replace just the outside unit. That same afternoon, two installers arrived with a new outside unit (and digital thermostat), and within 45 minutes of their arrival I had AC in my house.

+ -1 moreI came home to a humming sound coming from the A/C on Memorial Day. I called and they sent Greg out the next morning to diagnose a bad blower motor. Since they weren't Carrier dealers, he had to go back and find a motor from another source. They went and picked up the new motor and came out and installed it the next day right before about 3 straight days of upper 80 degree weather. They did everything quickly and efficiently. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

+ 0 moreThe technician was friendly and honest in telling that he thought it was a furnace problem and was not very familiar with gas fireplaces and looks like there was miscommunication when I told problem was with gas fireplace on phone. Nevertheless the technician was smart enough to figure out the problem in few minutes and resolve the issue. He just charged for the service call which was reasonable. He also gave me couple of extra tips on how to make better use of the fireplace.
Description of Work: The gas fireplace was not working. The gas was turned off and the pilot has been turned off for years.

+ -1 moreThe person I talked to was very polite and an appointment was made quickly. Within two days someone came to the house. He said the air conditioner was old, but instead of trying to sell me a new one, he told me that it was still in good condition and could be kept for a while. It didn't even need a freon recharge. He told me either I should replace the air filter or that he could do it for a specified charge. He also gave my wife some tips on how to use the air conditioner to to keep the house as cool as possible during the heat. I was very pleased that he didn't just try to sell me a new air conditioning system.
Description of Work: My house seemed a bit warm in the extreme summer heat. Since I knew my air conditioner was old, I asked Al's to check it out to see if it was working properly, and whether it ready for replacement.

+ -1 moreMy A/C went out the Sunday before Memorial Day. I called on Memorial Day and didn't expect anyone to be there. I left a message and received a call back an hour later. They came right out and fixed the problem. To top it off they haven't even charged me yet. The reported amount paid above is just an estimate. They are coming back in two weeks to investigate whether or not I have a freon leak.

They delayed billing, just in case the fix they made didn't totally take care of the problem. They fixed our water heater in about an hour (that included inspection, return to their shop and return to install the new part.)
Description of Work: Inspected water heater to determine the problem. Replaced a malfunctioning part on our water heater.

Description of Work: OUR FURNACE WOULD NOT TURN ON. THE BLOWER WOULD NOT KICK ON. I CALLED AL'S HEATING AND COOLING AT 1:00PM ON A FRIDAY TO COME CHECK MY FURNACE. THEY WERE ABLE TO WORK ME IN. HE EXAMINED THE FURNACE TAKING SOME ITEMS APART FINDING NOTHING WRONG. FINALLY DETERMINED THAT THE FLEW WAS OCCLUDED WITH LEAVES AND STICKS. HE CLEANED OUT THE FLEW. HE CHARGED ME ONLY THE SERVICE CALL FEE.
