The reasoning for us to get a outside unit and inside evaporator installed, was due to the original building contractors did not install the A/C system correctly. We had numerous different companies coming out and giving us bids and advising us also that the ductwork was not done properly to have the system work efficiently and also help with heating/cooling our 2nd floor. We did get bids for just replacing the condensor coil inside, due to leaking since we bought the house brand new, but decided to just replace the hole system and have it done right. This was also decided because the main line running from outside to inside was discovered to have a MAJOR kink in the line, which Air Authority found a 2nd one after the install process was started. NOT something we wanted to do after only owning our house for 7 1/2 yrs and building it brand new!! After getting multiple bids/recommendations, we decided to go with Air Authority due to Dan the sales representative was very personable and listened to our concerns and offered what he felt were good solutions. I was told that the installers would be there at around 8am to begin, they got there about 9:15am; no a big deal, but I am one for punctuality. They got right to work and were very professional. They laid down floor protection so as not to damage the carpets. While they were here, they worked the entire time and did not seem to drag their feet in working. The work they seems to me to be very good work. The major items they did was replace the old outside A/C system, ran a new A/C line from outside to inside unit, replaced evaporator coil, install a new return wrap which now brings in air from both sides of the blower unit with two air filters, installed a new humidifier, installed dampers on all first floor ducts so as to force more air up to the 2nd floor, and installed a new thermostat. All items installed where of TRANE brand, which I found during my research is a very good brand of HVAC systems and a big plus for me is made in the USA! Once they were done, they did clean up after themselves, however, not as good as I would have liked. I asked them if they need to use my shop vac to clean the floors in the basement, due to I saw one of them grabbing a broom from the back of the truck (trying to give them a hint here), but they stated they had one. Once completed, they went through everything with me and asked if I had any questions. After they left, my wife did go downstairs and found some large pieces of plastic from the new drain lines they installed as well as a couple of metal chunks from the new portions of duct work they did. To wit my main reason for asking them to borrow my shop vac to make sure it was all picked up nice and good due to my little 3yo son goes down bare foot as well as myself at times to get items from the basement. A couple of days later I did notice that the outside unit seems to be wobbling a bit and also had a very distinctive squeaking notice coming from it, as if a cricket on steroids was inside. I called the sales rep., Dan, and told him of the issue. He stated he would have their field supervisor come out and take a look. A couple of days later he came out and stated that something must have happened at the factor or during shipment, due to he had never seen a issue of the fan blades being off balance or the loud cricket noise. He called and spoke to Dan about the issue and they stated they would have the unit replaced out with another new units. Sales representative Dan did call me a couple of days later and stated that after speaking with the TRANE representative, that they would come out and replace the unit but requested since the unit was working properly and cooling our house if it would be ok to do it later one since they had calls for service in which people had no cooling at all, which I was totally fine with. Dan did stay in touch with me through the month and half letting me know that he had not forgotten about us. As of 7/19/11 they came out and replaced the unit with another new unit, and it is working good and quiet. As far as the suggestions from Dan on adding duct work to quiet down the return in our living/kitchen room and also adding the dampers to force more air to the 2nd floor; this has worked out GREAT! We can really tell a difference on the 2nd floor with cooling now and even though the return in the living room/kitchen area is still noisy, the noise has decreased a lot. I look forward to seeing Dan this fall for a combustion analyst and working with Air Authority in the future based on the professionalism and work they have done for us.

Overall we are happy with the installation of the furnace and humidifier. Despite the problem with the piping (which was corrected by Air Authority), everything was handled in a professional and timely manner.
Description of Work: A furnace and humidifier was installed. The workmen arrived on time. They replaced our old furnace and install a new one as well as turn the new one around to face a new direction. The furnace was completed in a timely manner (all day job), but they had to come back to finish up on the humidifier, which they did. A problem arose a few days later when we noted that the furnace was making a noise and having problems igniting. The supervisor promptly came and realized that since the furnace was turned, larger piping was needed. Workmen came and fitted new piping, which solved the problem.

They offered well-priced, quality Trane products. Same thing with the same service at a much better price than other companies. We got four estimates. Theirs was not the cheapest, but they offered a superior product. Everyone from sales to installation techs to in-house staff were friendly and professional. I would recommend them to anyone. They also provided air balancing service to maximizae our unit's potential free of charge.

When the AC went out last day of May, I called around and they were able to come and look at the unit. They found it was low on refrigerant so they added some. We knew the unit was on its last legs anyway, so I asked them to send a representative to give us a quote. Brian was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We did get three other quotes and were pleased with Air Authority. When they came on July 22 (my delay, not theirs) the guys went right to work and they were on time, polite, friendly & clean. They also informed me of everything they were doing and asked me numerous times if I had any questions. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: The AC went out and they came and did repair work. They then came back and put in a new high efficiency furnace, AC, and humidifier. I also had them move the gas line over a little bit for space. And they also changed some duct work for better flow and sealed all connections so there would be no loss of air to the basement.

In 2009 we hired an individual who was in business for himself to install a new furnace & humidifier. This was our original furnace (our house was built in 1987) Our heat pump was 12 yrs old. He told us our heat pump was fine. He installed the furnace in June 09 and we paid him the full amount which included the $500.00 humidifier. He was suppose to come back to put the humidifier in another day. We had alot of trouble with the furnace working correctly last summer, it was hard to get him to come back he would always tell us he was coming and something would always come up. Our heat bills over the winter were so high and we were still without a humidifier. We gave up on this guy that took advantage of us. We didn't take him to court, because we knew he had nothing to give us. Larry from Air Authority came to check everything out and was great! He showed me everything he was checking and made sure I was watching. He wasn't thrilled about how this guy treated us, but was very professional. Our furnace wasn't working right, because the new furnace didn't match up with our old heat pump. Dan came to the house to check everything out. He sent me the estimate to my e-mail address. I never felt any pressure to hire this company. The confidence in their work, sold me. So, on April 5th 2010. We had a new heat pump, and humidifier installed. They had to correct several things the other guy didn't do. Everything is working properly now. I will never hire a company with 1 individual again. As long as I am in Mason, this will be my company

They did an exceptional job. They brought a technician with them and were able to figure out the problem within an hour. They weren't the least expensive, but their work seemed to be worth it. The only problem we ran into was overly dry heat during the winter. I called them with question about a humidifier to rectify the dry heat, but they never called me back. They went above and beyond the call of duty by returning to the warehouse to retrieve a heater for us so we wouldn't go without heat during the installation. They cleaned up after themselves and they took the time to diagnose the problem.
Description of Work: I had a complete system put in my house. The system had never been able to be properly balanced in the past.

Our air conditioner went out in June. We had 6 others companies come out and give us a quote for several thousand dollars saying that our system needs to be replaced. Air Authority had a look at our system. He diagnosed the issue and fixed it in a short time. He refused to take any money. We were very happy with him. We would definitely use him in future.

The estimator was prompt and curteous. He provided a quote within a couple of days and was competitve. The work was scheduled out a couple of weeks, since the old unit was still operating fine. The workers were very professional and did their work efficiently. They even talked with the neighbor and answered his questions as best as they could. They installed the unit nicely and cleaned up well after they were done.

He came to the door during the install, gave us a great deal, didn't ask for any money up front and provided exceptional service. We were cool on our party day. The following Wednesday the compressor blew again. They returned promptly, replaced it, ran new lines and it worked great. They didn't ask for payment until we were completely satisfied. We could not have asked for better service at all. They were GREAT. We agreed to an annual maintenance contract with this company because we were so impressed with them.

Got an estimate on having a new A/C installed. This is one of those companies you do NOT want to call for an estimate. The salesman (owner) takes up hours of your time, bad mouths the competitor, pressures you to make a decision, leaves messages on your phone after, etc. I don't like to throw my business to people like this.
