Air Authority Heating & Air Conditioning

As always, the technician was prompt, courteous, and wore coverings on his shoes. The gentleman did a great job cleaning the furnace, air cleaner, and also cleaned out the pvc parts of the dehumidifier and showed me the build up that was in it. We have used Air Authority since 2007 when they saved us during a heat wave. Our Son was graduating from high school and the AC stopped working two days before the party. The heat was to be in the mid 90's and we had a house full of people coming. The owner came out, measured, and gave us a price to replace the entire unit. It was installed, and working the day before the party. The owner of Air Authority called us the morning of the party to make sure it was working. That is the kind of service you can't give enough praise. Since 2007 we have used only Air Authority because when you need them, they come right out and take care of their customers.

From the sales visit to the installation Air Authority exceeded all our expectations. We went with Air Authority because when we had them clean our old system last fall the difference in the job they did versus the company we had been using was a real eye opener. The company we had been using (and who we thought was doing a decent job) did about 50% of what Air Authority did and charged more. Based on the professional cleaning job they did we had them quote on a complete system replacement. The price for a Train system was very competitive and the installation reinforced our decision to go with Air Authority.

I called them them first thing in the morning and they were here by lunch. My 4 yr old Trane furnace was turned off the day prior due to the technician from another company stating the heat exchanger was cracked and I need a new furnace or replace current heat exchanger. So, Air Authority came out for a free 2nd opinion. Jim the technician here stated Trane has a test the other company did not preform to decide the safety of this furnace. After preforming test said CO emissions are within the normal parameters for a furnace. I do not need to do anything. I was told the Trane has built in safety operations that will shut it down if it becomes dangerous.

Service was professional and thorough. I have been using this company to service my heating and a/c unit for a couple of years now and I've always been happy with the service. The additional charge findings were presented with no pressure to buy but gave me all the details I needed to make a decision I felt comfortable with.

Everything associated with Air Authority was top notch. The interaction with the sales person, Dan Knollman, was excellent especially since he used to install furnaces and air conditioners and had taken training as a comfort specialist. It is because of his recommendations that the company installed larger air ducts and raised the furnace off the floor to increase air flow to our master bedroom. Also that configuration allowed the use of a large 24" x 24" size filter that increases the air intake and reduces the inlet air friction to help increase air inflow. None of the other two contractors from which we receive quotes recommended those types of changes even when I suggested that perhaps such changes were necessary. Their answer - "No, what we propose will work". I waited till now to do this review so my wife and I could go through the summer and be able to report on the results of the temperature in our master bedroom. It did make a big difference; our master bedroom is considerably cooler than it was with our previous air conditioning unit and duct work configuration. Our electrical usage has been considerably less for this summer months when compared with the previous year. When I first contacted Air Authority, I got a quick response from Dan to my request for a quote. Once I agreed to their proposal, Dan came to our house to perform a quick service on our air conditioner to keep it cooling until the company was able to install the new unit. Dan indicated that the work would take 2 days and indicated that they would be able to install it within 10 days. The professional workers came on schedule and completed the job in about 1-1/2 days. Each day they cleaned up. Dan came during the installation to make sure that everything was to my satisfaction. My wife and I are extremely pleased by the installation process and the quality of workmanship and professionalism of the entire team. I have nothing but praise Air Authority, have already recommended them to one of my neighbors, and would not hesitate to recommend them to others. If only all companies were this good...

I received four quotes from Angieslist vendors that were all listed as as "A". While all of the providers provided similar/same products, Air Authority worked with us to solve some issues with areas of our house that were hotter/cooler than others. They were very informative, punctual, and cost effective. What was most compelling about the service was the information that was provided about their products (Dan Knollman). Many of the other vendors attempted to sell the top of the line equipment ($12,000) when the home really didn't need it. The savings that would have been generated would have taken 20-30 years to pay off...bottom line, not worth it. While the job was quoted to take 2 days, it was completed in one day to our delight. I would highly recommend Air Authority as they are very thorough and want to make sure that you will refer them to others.

GREAT! They were very professional, curious,experienced, well equipped with parts. From the receptionist to the serviceman, it was a very wonderful experience. My air unit quit on a 97 degree day, called was not able get to it till next day. Called next day was running ahead of schedule got to my house 1& 1/2 early, knew problem in 5 min, had the part on truck, was gone in 30 min. No guessing on cost had a book of parts & price, told my the price parts & labor. Will use them in future & recommend to friends.

The compressor went out on a Friday and they came out right away and advised they needed to replace the compressor. On Monday, they located the compressor and were here Johnny on the Spot to make the repair. They gave me a window of when they'd arrive and called to let me know when they were on the way. Everything went great. From Dan who came out originally, to the technician that came out, they were all great.

We needed a new Heat Pump as our old one was over 20 years old. We wanted to stick with Trane as we had such good luck with the old system. We called the company that had previously serviced our system and had them quote the replacement. The quote we got was in the ballpark but we were not comfortable with the guy that gave us the quote. He talked down to us and was in a hurry to get a deposit and schedule the work. Thankfully, the paid attention to the red flags and decided to get another quote. That's when I got on Angie's list. We researched all the Trane certified dealers in the area and chose Air Authority for another quote. Dan come out the next day and talked me through everything that would be replaced and how it would improve our heating and cooling. He talked about the shape of our house's interior and what parts of the house we actually "live" in. Then, recommended the system that would best fit our house and our needs. We felt like all of our questions were answered and he gave us a quote that we couldn't resist. In only a couple of days, the two man crew showed up at exactly the appointed time. They were friendly and went over everything they would be doing throughout the day. Dan even came by to see if I had any concerns and to see how the installation was going. By the end of the day, the guys were all done and had cleaned up everything from the old system. We had a brand new system and no one would ever know the guys were here! The took such great care to get everything in and out without leaving a mess in the carpeted basement. They explained how to use the new thermostat and answered any questions I had at the time. We were so happy with the work that was done and with our new system. As we used it the next couple of days, we started to have more questions about the most effecient way to use our new set-up. I called Dan and he came back to the house the next day. He was happy to answer all of my questions and go through all of the scenerios we had for heating or cooling our house. He took a lot of time to explain the best way to use the new thermostat to optimize the system. Thanks Dan!! We are so happy we found Air Authority. We felt like they appreciated our investment in them and made sure that we were pleased with every aspect of the process. We appreciated the fact that they were willing to put in some extra effort - even after they got paid!

We picked Air Authority from Angie List recommendations, and have been very satisfied. Air Authority always demonstrates good customer awareness and good customer service. Their service techs take the time to do the job right and they do a wonderful job describing their work and recommendations. We highly recommend Air Authority.

I consider myself to be a very discerning individual. I would almost never consider giving a completely satisfied review: this is an exception. I was totally satisfied with the entire experience: new furnace and air conditioner purchase and installation.

I had a very positive experience with them. They were extremely responsive. Our air conditioning unit broke in August, I am guessing it was the heat of the summer and they came out the day that I called and inquired about our system. The afternoon they came out, the next day they were installing a whole new system. We had three bids and they were the most expensive, but the plant they handle is Trane and we knowingly went into this selecting a higher quality unit. The product itself was higher, but their services were comparable for ongoing support and maintenance.

Super. Tech arrived promptly and diagnosed our problem. He replaced the part and cleaned and checked over our heating system. We Re very happy with their services.

Air Authority had been servicing my furnace and air conditioner for several years. In October, an Air Authority technician visited to service the furnace. He visually identified a mark on surface of the air exchanger, pointed it out and explained to me that it was a crack that constituted a serious Carbon Monoxide danger. He proceeded to shut off the gas line to the furnace, turned off the power switch, and additionally cut a wire so the furnace was inoperable. Next, their salesman arranged to visit and provided price quotations for repair and replacement. I felt that the technician was brazen when he cut a wire on my furnace. I personally told the owner of Air Authority my opinion about the wire cut, and he did not disapprove of that tactic. The owner did visit my house to discuss the situation, but he didn't even look at my furnace. He did ask for my business, which made me feel like he was there to try to close a sale. Air Authority had been servicing the same furnace for several years and previously made no mention of this problem. I was skeptical, and felt like I was being scammed. I arranged for a second opinion and a third opinion, both of which included detailed test data. Air Authority did not provide test data to prove their diagnosis. Both the second and third opinions contradicted Air Authority.

They cleaned up after themselves. Their price was reasonable. I think they did an excellent job. I was not disappointed. They did a better job than I expected. It was great.

As for the humidifier installation I am very happy with the price I paid and the service that I received. As for the service agreement I think I paid too much for little service. I think they are honest and professional. I added them to My Favorites.

I had researched numerous different companies. I felt very comfortable after hearing their proposal. They followed through on everything promised. Price was reasonable and the technicians appeared to be people I would trust alone in my house. I would definitely recommend them.
