MARSHALL CONSTRUCTION & ROOFING

Description of Work: Marshall re-roofed my house, including a tear-off of the existing roof, with a standing-seam metal roof. Some structural repairs were also necessary. They also re-roofed my 2-car garage and an outbuilding, again, completing some structural repairs to each, and installing new doors and an electric garage-door opener. While Marshall was very good at the conventional shingle application on the garage and shed, it became apparent that their experience/expertise with metal roofong was limited. Some mistakes were made, necessitating starting over again. An additional individual was subcontracted to help. The work, begun in July, was not completed until late September. There were issues of rain/water damage incurred when the roof was partially finished, requiring some interior plaster and drywall repair. There were also some electrical problems which were not taken care of. The interior repairs were not satisfactory. Marshall did make an effort to straighten things out, but apparently went out of business some months later. I still have a leakage issue. Overall, I do believe that Marshall was well-intentioned and capable within his comfort zone (conventional roofing), but was not the best choice for a metal roof. I am still dealing with interior problems with plaster and ceilings, in addition to a leak around the chimney. I also have a couple of dead electrical circuits, incurred, I think, during carpentry repairs during which wiring was damaged. I do not know if Mr. Marshall has returned to business. If so, I could conditionally recommend him for conventional roofing and structural repair.

Description of Work: Marshall Construction did some exterior carpentry work for me. This was was for gutter replacement. This was the first time I used this company.
