David does excellent work and the condo looks beautiful. He was not the least expensive of the estimates I received but turned out to be the best choice. He did the job quickly & very neatly. He was always on time and did exactly what he said he would. When I noticed some touch up was needed after I moved in, he was responsive to my phone call and came back quickly to take care of it. In addition to doing a great job, he is a very pleasant person to deal with.

He was great. Everything was great. He moved my furniture cheerfully.

Dave Burkholder painted my neighbors house. He had to access my property to paint one side of her house. He did not communicate well with me about this, just entered my property, left the gate open once so my dog got loose, and stripped the brances off one side of a hemlock tree on my property so he could have better access to put his ladders up against the neighbor's house he was painting. Very unhappy.

Dave was persistent in contacting us to get the job to paint our 80 year old house. His price was higher than others, but the quality of work and service that he and his crew provided was excellent. They arrived on time, worked all day, and accommodated our every request. They actually did small additional work at no cost, repainting the front door and garage door. We were particularly impressed with the job they did scraping our old shingles and with their professionalism. They cleaned up each day, communicated with us along the way, and generally did an excellent job.

He was very good. It still looks excellent and there is nothing else we need to do at this point. He also painted the exterior of the front door and kept coming back to touch up until I was happy with it.

Overall, the experience was a mixed bag. Dave was always very responsive, punctual and focused. The price was significantly higher than other quotes, but they do their work by hand, and I was willing to pay premium for quality work. Overall, the team did a good job, but there were several items that I were in part of the oral quote but which weren't written down that I had to insist on, like power washing and foundation block painting. When I had asked Dave what was included in the handwritten quote for exterior painting, he confidently said "everything, everything on the outside of the house", but mid-way through the job,one side of the house was painted except for the ugly block covered in old and varying paint. I had to ask the crew chief to paint it. All other companies do power washing, especially on old siding, but Dave didn't remember us discussing that, so he reluctantly agreed to power wash, saying, "Well, I've seen dirtier siding than this." I suggested that dirt was dirt and the house hadn't been washed in 6 years. The power washer showed up and was used for about 15 minutes when I left for work, and when I came home on lunch break a few hours later, everything was bone dry and more than 1/4 of the house was completely painted, so I question whether the power washing actually happened. The work went consistently from there, and went pretty well until the end. Then, I noticed a bunch of touch-ups and thin paint that needed fixed, and Dave was very honest, agreed it was shoddy, and attempted to fix it the next day. I had to call him back 3 times to fix the same problems that I had carefully written down for them, and once they forgot to pick up the list and another time they lost the list. In the end, most big items got fixed, including a ridiculous mis-hanging of my shutters in the wrong place, but several items were still outstanding, so I gave up and repainted some areas myself! The team also painted ALL of my windows shut, even after I warned the crew chief about that! An amateur mistake which was repeated. I chose Dave because he had a good reputation for getting things right (and would go the extra mile, which he did when he installed new exterior door hardware when my antique came apart when he tried to strip it at my request) and for attention to detail, and because he seemed very honest. I would agree that he is an honest person and contractor and means to get things right, and I was very comfortable trusting him with access to my house. However, I got the impression his team was in a big rush and had some newbies who disregarded obvious flaws at eye level (and he said as much when I walked him around the house). So, all in all, a mixed bag.

His crew was prompt and professional. He did a great job.

He did a great job and took it upon himself to take care of other issues going above and beyond our expectations. I would use him again.

I contacted Dave (the owner) for an estimate on a Saturday afternoon and he was there within an hour to provide an estimate. He followed up a few days later and offered to repair and paint some areas of damaged wood on the outside of our house. We hired him not only to repair the outside but to paint the entire family room and kitchen area. He was very professional, prompt and he and his crew are nice guys. He gave us a discount for having both projects completed at once and replaced outdated lighting for us in both rooms at no additional cost. He and his crew not only do painting, but carpentry and electrical work as well.

He did excellent work. There was excellent communication between myself and David Burkholder, which other clients of his had told me was their experience. He always went above and beyond to do a quality job. He has fantastic taste and helped me make some better choices. I am certain the house he fixed up for us to sell will sell faster and for a better price because of his skill and speed in getting the job done. I will definitely use him and his crew to do my own house next. I cannot say enough about how wonderful he is to work with, and his crew is equally skilled and wonderful. They never acted as though something was too small or too detailed. The price we paid included a lot of materials, all of which were extremely tasteful but reasonably priced.

EXCELLENT JOB SCRAPING AND PAINTING SOME DIFFICULT AREAS ON OUR OLD HOUSE. COMMUNICATED HIS PLANS WELL. VERY PROFESSIONAL AND TIMELY. CLEANED WINDOWS AS HE PAINTED AND LEFT THE AREA AROUND THE HOUSE CLEANER THAN HE FOUND IT. DID EXTRA TOUCHES FOR NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE IN ORDER TO BE SURE THE JOB WAS DONE RIGHT.
