Description of Work: I ordered gravel for my driveway. I didn't know exactly how much I needed, so I gave an approx. size of my driveway. I asked if it would be spread and how much extra that would cost. I was told that they do it "as a courtesy". The man came the next day, dropped the gravel along the driveway, and left a large pile several feet in front of the garage. I asked if he was going to spread out that pile and he said "no, I can't do that". He then asked what I wanted him to do with the rest of it in the truck(which he said was a couple of tons!). I asked if I had to pay for it and he said yes. I asked if he could put it in another place and he said no. He said that he could make another pass down the driveway, so I said OK as long as I had to pay for it anyway. I then had to pay someone else to spread out the pile in front of the garage before I could get my car out. The driveway had several inches of the extra gravel, making it very difficult to drive over it.

Description of Work: Delivered and laid gravel on our driveway and lane. They were very courteous on the phone when I called for an estimate. They were able to deliver the gravel quickly. The person doing the delivery really knew how to drop the gravel in such a way that we hardly had to do any raking. He was friendly, professional and did the job in a timely manner.

 + -1 moreI went to the site to select gravel. The salesperson was very helpful, and I made an appointment on the spot. The delivery truck arrived on time. The driver had a challenging job because of trees and proximity to lines, but he handled it with expertise and spread the gravel as I requested.

 + -1 moreI found this company through the Yellow Pages in order to find sand for a small beach next to my pond. The sales representative did tell me that there were many grades of sand that they had available, but did not tell me that none of them were the sort of thing you think of when you thing "beach". The sand was a dull gray and was not pretty at all.
Description of Work: Provided 3 tons of sand for small residential beach.
