Trashmasters

The did a good job for the most part when it came to the garbage pick-up. But I got a flyer from another company with the same service at a lesser price, and times being what they are, decided to go with the less expensive service. My contract with Trashmasters ended at the end of January and I signed up to start the new company for February. I sent a letter to cancel service with Trashmaster and called and left a voice message on their machine of the same. In both I requested that they return my check for $16.00 that was to pay for service is February as I had always paid monthly and in advance, I had already approved for the check to draw a check to pay them, for budgeting reasons, and the check had already been mailed by my bank before I could stop it, since deciding to discontinue service with Trashmaster. Trashmasters did not answer my letter of phone call, and they did not return the check and they did not pick up my trash for the month of February 2010. I have since then sent follow up letters, called and spoke to the secretary who has said several times she wishes the owners would just let her return my money, but the won't. They state that unless you cancel service to move from the area, that is the only way they will refund money. This is crazy, I did not move, I just paid in advance for a service I cancelled, did not recieve and I want my money back and they won't do it. They just ignore me and won't send my refund. This is a shady practise, I always paid in advance the entire time I was with them, they always had their money and were paid on time and this is how they are treating a good paying customer. I have kept track of my payments, my phone calls and letters. The are lousy business people and this is shady behavior to say the least. Thanks
