+ -1 moreDan Druffel, Inc. is outstanding in this field. Dan runs a tight ship and his son Brandon Druffen, a landscape architect, is the best designer and general contractor you could ask for. (He juggled five sets of subcontractors, including our decision to add an irrigation system very late in the game.) They listened -- including when we needed to scale back the initial plans -- and they were and are incredibly responsive. We could not be more pleased. We are the third house on our block that they have worked on, and they have three sets of very happy customers. I would use them again without hesitation, and highly recommend their work.
Description of Work: We needed a total re-landscaping of our back and front yards after being in our home for 26 years. It was a large and costly project, and worth what we got.

+ -1 moreBranden Druffel, son of Dan Druffel, worked with me over a series of months to select the new plants, type of sod, type of paverstones and overall layout of the entire front of my property.. He used color photos and professionally done drawings to show me exactly how everything would look once completed. I changed several details after work had begun and they accommodated my wishes. All of the sub-contractors were courteous, on time, and outstanding craftsmen. Branden returned my calls promptly and gave me extremely valuable advice as to how to care for the new sod, plants, and trees. The work was slightly delayed, but this was due to the extremely wet weather rather than workers not showing up on time. Every consideration was given to not inconveniencing neighbors due to the heavy equipment used and noise. His after-the-job follow-up has been superb. I also received a call from the owner of the company asking many of the same questions discussed here to be sure I was 100% satisfied. Branden attended college to learn his trade and learned it very well. He didn't hesitate to tell me when he thought that I had made a bad choice regarding a plant, type of stone, etc. In brief, every detail of the work was top tier.
Description of Work: Landscaped entire front yard with nearly a hundred plants reasonably priced and planted professionally. Replaced front stairs, used paver stones for the vertical section of the stairs and limestone for the top of the stairs, added iron hand railings and wooden side railings Laid a new curved sidewalk and edges of the driveway with paverstones.

+ -1 moreThey were phenomenal. I have no complaints. It was pricey but fair. They had already started taking care of the house before we purchased it, so the previous owners – who we do not know – used them. And we tried to find out who had been taking care of the property, the only person to return a phone call, of five people, were the Druffels. They call you back immediately. They went over stuff with me. He found all the other contractors. He found the guy who does the stone work, the pavers, the plumber… I didn’t have to make any other phone calls. Anything that we had to do, they did it. I would highly recommend them. They are a great company to work with. They’ve been around for a long time. I Googled the company and there were no complaints, nothing at all. They were just easy to work with.
Description of Work: Dan Druffel did all of our landscaping.

+ -1 moreThis was the best experience of any landscaping--an I have had many job I have ever had. First of all, the bid was about a third less than the next closest bid and I got 4 bids. Secondly, they showed up when they said they would, they were polite, they cleaned up daily and did exactly what they said they would do. They finished a day early. Dan stopped by everyday to make sure all was well. About two weeks after completion, I received a check for $50 in the mail with a note stating that After review of the job, I had overpaid!! In my life, that has never happened! I will definitely use and recommend them again!

Description of Work: Designed and installed extensive privacy border of trees and shrubs alongside my house. This was a difficult border to design as I wanted to integrate an existing hodgepodge of poorly planted evergreens, shrubs, and trees the builder planted 5 years earlier. Branden Druffel, the designer, created a beautiful design that addresses all my needs; solid year-round privacy screening from a busy road, plant variety, a unifed appearance, low maintenance, durable trees and shrubs for heavy sun and wind, and beautiful summer floral variety. The crew was professional and cleaned up after themselves each of the 3 installation days. Dan Druffel, the owner, came the day of installation and followed up the day after installation was completed with one-on-one instruction for watering. He came again to check on my watering and helped me tweak my watering regimen so I didn't overwater. I love this border because, in 3-4 years I will have the privacy I need without the usual "wall of evergreens". It includes roses, hydrangeas, junipers, and flowering trees all stratgically placed for flow, unity, and privacy. They amended the soil of the entire bed by tilling in humus and slow release fertilizer, not just in the hole of each shrub/tree like many landscapers today. I'd say their price is in the mid-range and worth every penny if you want a well-considered, beautiful landscape.

+ -1 more.He listened to our ideas our likes and dislikes in terms of creating the plan. The crew that came to do the installation were very polite and did a real good job with the installation and cleaned up each day after their work. What I did not like was that some of the colors of the bushes he put in were installed incorrectly. So instead of having pink azaleas we had white azaleas. We had some problems with the quality of the plantings. I worked really hard following all of his instructions regarding watering and everything. He did replace some of the items but others which were not very obvious he avoided. I just had trouble with him honoring his guarantee of planting materials. It just got to the point where I just stopped calling him because I did not want to beg for what he should have replaced. So it was unresolved and we just moved on. We will not use him in the future. He must have thought that we are asking for too much. But when I had a tree die even though I had watered it as per his specification I thought it needed to be replaced. Though he grudgingly given me my pink azaleas since then three of them have died. It all depends on the amount of sunlight the plants were receiving.

+ -1 moreThe whole needed the work badly and they picked up leaves, put down rocks in the front to keep people from driving on the strip in front, and they re-seated some radiance. They were here most of the day. I spent $800 or $900 on that work.

+ -1 moreWe got a total clean up done which included cleaning of all the beds and mulching the beds. It also included trimming, removal of the brush and planting new plants. The landscaper is great and I have been working with him since 1989. He always follows up personally by making a phone call to his customers to see if they are happy with the service. Over the years we have occasionally thought about using other people for landscaping, but since his service is so good, we haven’t looked elsewhere.
Description of Work: I use Dan Druffel Landscaping for lawn care and maintenance. The last time I used his services was probably in May for spring clean up.

+ -1 moreDan has a crew but he is usually on site. They clean up after themselves very nicely and I trust them perfectly when they are here. One of the best things is that his staff is very good. The quality of craftsmanship is outstanding and we have been very happy with their work.
