Everything was okay. The workers were friendly. They did damage some pictures and didn't tell us. There were also scratches on the baseboards. They were expensive. They were fairly prompt. The floors look great.

Description of Work: Carpet arrived late so they were late getting here. My only complaint is that I had to call to see why they weren't here. Installer was very professional and gracious about moving furniture since we have some very heavy pieces.

Great experience from beginning to end. They were very responsive and the best price between three quotes we received. The installers showed up on time on a snow day and were efficient, professional, and had to check the quality repeatedly throughout. Time from estimate to installation was only a week too, and they offered an easy financing program. We would use them again without reservation.

Bowling gives very personal service. Communication about scheduling could be improved, but they came out quickly to measure and the installers arrived as scheduled and were very professional, courteous and clean. They moved the large furniture and moved it back when they were finished.

Initially, when I first made contact with them, it was fine. Everything was going great, right up to the day when the two guys didn't show up to the first day of the job-their van broke down. The next day when they did show up, but they didn't have all of the supplies they needed-it was only a half day because of that. They rarley worked a full day because they kept running out of tile, etc. The last time a third guy came, he was rude and wouldn't talk to you. He took a lot of cigarette breaks and wouldn't close the door, so the smoke was coming inside. When they were done with the concrete they went over and dumped it into my neighbors yard. When I wasn't home one day, they went and got my wifes radio and cranked it up when my wife was at home 6 months pregnant. They scratched up the tub that was there, they stood in the tub with their shoes on when they were doing the tile. They piles tile inside the tub, scratching it up. The floor looked pretty good, the tub deck that sits about a foot and a half off the floor looks terrible. The spacing of the tile around the faucets are too big, some of the tiles on the wall aren't pushed in all the way. The grout is more than a quarter inch wide in some places in the corner. They didn't follow the instructions on the back of the bag and mixed it wrong, so it never set properly. They didn't pack it into the cracks properly. There are crooked cut lines on the tiles, you can see big gashes in tiles where they tried cutting around a cut surface. I have had three tile people come in to look at it that said it was not good. When we first confronted them about it, they said we could have called them right when the work was done two weeks ago. He came out to look at it and said that it didn't look that bad. I spoke to him on the phone today, he was completely unprofessional, the conversation ended with him yelling at me. Everything just looks awful.
Description of Work: Rick Bowling Carpet retiled the masterbath.
Rick came to our home, measured for carpet and tile, gave us a price and the rest was easy. They provided excellent quality product, arrived on time, finished quickly, left nothing behind for us to discard! Their employees were polite and respected our home. They completed their work very quickly and the installation was perfect Rick Jr is a great guy who takes pride in his business and truly wants to please the customer. He checked in with his crew to assure thing were going correctly and at my personal request ( which actually started as a joke ) provided donuts to go with my morning coffee!!!! Bowling's will be doing the flooring in our family room, living room, kitchen, entry and sun room this month. I really like doing business within my community and I appreciate Bowling's professionalism, quality product and completed product. It's feels good doing business with nice people who take pride in their business.
Description of Work: My husband finished our basement and Bowlings completed the carpeting and floor tile in the bar, laundry, and bath ( including the shower). Upon completion we had a very heavy rain and the sump pump could not manage the water flow. Our beautiful basement carpet had to be replaced, along with the sump pump! Bowling's has carpeted our basement twice in a three month period of time!

They wanted to come out to measure and give a formal quote for no charge.
Description of Work: We did not use the service but the call to get information and a possible estimate was a positive experience. I was able to speak with someone right away and they gave an approximate quote over the phone. They wanted to come out to measure and give a formal quote for no charge.
Couldn't be happier with the results! We've had several kitchen floors thoughout the years in owning this house, and none were able to stand the test of time given the people traffic and our doggies. So, we opted to spend the extra money and have the kitchen floor tiled. Everyone in the company was very polite and professional from the salesman to the installers who did the work. The floor looks beautiful and we are very glad we went with this company instead of one of the big box companies!
Description of Work: Our existing laminate flooring was removed; and new tile was installed throughout the kitchen floor.

The estimate was for about $22,900. It was the lowest that we got. They are close by. They dealt with me in a better way than the other people. They asked me when it would be a good time for them to come out. They came out ahead of time and were polite. When I asked them questions about the materials and things they answered it in a way that I could understand. They also understood what I was looking for.
Description of Work: We contacted Bowling’s Carpet to get an estimate for flooring installation. We have had the basement finished. They are now going to put the flooring down in the basement.

I called Bowlings because they are just a few miles away and had a good rating on Angie's List. The owner said he would pass the job on to some of the people who worked for him (apparently, he usually does bigger jobs that require purchase of the carpet). He said the guys that work for him had been with him a long time and were good and there would be a minimum charge of $100. They called right away and came out the next morning. They were on time and friendly. They quoted me $250 to do the job, which seemed a little high for such a small area, but they did have to move a tv and stand and a piece of exercise equipment, so I agreed to pay it. They also ended up moving a loveseat and the door that we had removed during the flood--apparently they needed more room to bring the roll of padding through . They replaced the part of the padding that we had previously pulled up ourselves (it had torn quite a bit when we removed it) and restretched the carpet, which was still in tact but the guy said was kind of stiff and brittle, making the job somewhat tricky to get it smooth and keep from tearing it. The price included the cost of the padding, which they purchased from Bowlings. They also kindly removed the old padding which was rolled up in the garage. The job took 1 1/2 hours start to finish. I gave a B for professionalism because the padding they installed was thicker than the existing padding, leaving a fairly noticeable difference when you walk across the floor. They didn't tell me until after the job was complete, so I just let it go. They also moved the humidifier on the utility side when they brought the door in to get it out of the way. The displacement caused the drain tube to leak under the freezer and get wicked under the wall and into the very carpet that had just be re-laid. Fortunately, we caught the problem when the wet area was small and used a rug scrubber to suck up the wet. In their defense, that side of the basement is pretty cluttered and my own spouse has knocked the tube loose before.
Description of Work: We needed someone to replace part of the padding and reinstall part of the carpet in our finished basement family room, which had previously flooded. The area was about 12x14 (the rest of the carpet and padding were unaffected).
Overall positive experience. Owner of the company did the estimate and was involved the whole time during the project. Had a snafu where a stain on the old hardwood would not sand out and the hardwood installers came back to fix that area, with no increase in cost from estimate. One thing to be aware of is the hardwood floor installers had a van that leaked a little oil onto my driveway, I wish they would have put something down to protect against that - they loose professionalism points for that. However, no complaints about how the actual hardwood floor turned out, it was excellent and at a good price.
Description of Work: Removed carpet, added hardwood, refinished and stained old / new hardwood to match.
