Annual furnace-A/C inspection revealed the furnace had CO leak in heat exchanger. Furnace was 26 years old. Instead of repairing, decided to replace with more efficient furnace. Even though the A/C was still functional, we decided to replace it with a new one to avoid potential problems at some later time. Installation was scheduled for 3 weeks from contract signing. Installers arrived on schedule and completed work in less than two days. They did a good job fitting the new furnace/A/C to the existing duct work. Installation also included a state-of-the-art, programmable thermostat and a more efficient air filter. The installation passed the inspection of the local building inspector. I would use this contractor again and I plan to use them for annual check-up/maintenance of the unit.

The experience was great. I was in a huge bind since I was leaving town in a couple of days, and they bent over backwards to accommodate my schedule. They were very good. They were prompt and on time. The quality of the installation was good since I haven't had any issues so far.

The compressor on my old unit had seized after 18 years and it was too expensive ($1500) to replace (used R22). Got five other proposals - Penguin was easily the best overall. Everything went extremely well. I picked Penguin because they were within $300 of the lowest price, had (arguably) the best equipment, and had well-trained professional installers. Plus, they are local (within five miles). Could not beat that combination. Install went smoothly. Mark and Travis showed up on time. They worked smoothly and professionally. Put down floor coverings and wore booties. Explained what they were doing and why. Cleaned up when they were done. Couldn't ask for more. When Jeff was touring the house for the proposal we discussed the number of cold air returns. Basically, I had two for the entire house (two floors) with nine hot air registers. They opened up returns for two that had openings that were not piped anywhere and added two more brand new ones. (Cost not included above.) Jeff was one of only two companies that pointed out that the electric company had a $300 rebate on new heat pump systems. Plus, he filled out all the paperwork.

Jeff sat down with us and explained everything that would be done and why they were going to be done. He answered all the questions we had.He wilingly accomodated all of our requests regarding the installation of the system. His employees were here for two days and were very considerate and tidied up after themselves. The whole process went much better than we expected. When we realized the wrong model thermosat was installed, Jeff promptly ordered the correct one and had it replaced.

Penguin Mechanical, Inc. originally installed this furnace. They attempted to seal the elbow joint that was leaking, during this service call. After a few days I noticed it was still dripping, I called them back and they replaced the entire elbow joint without charge. Over the past several years we have used them for two different furnace installations and have been 150% satisfied with both their product and their workmanship. A very professional crew, prompt, polite, and respectful of your property, no mess. They sent a "Thank You" for your business note in the mail, and also the owner Jeff Lynn phoned to make sure everything was ok. I thought this was very considerate and a nice touch, good company, would not hesitate to use them in the future, highly recommend.

Penguin answered all our questions promptly. The system was installed mostly by two trained personnel with help from other trained people on some days during the week and half it took to install. The crew was punctual and very courteous. They took into consideration our comments for placement of the return registers throughout the house. They cleaned up their debri at the end of each day. They were very conscientious about the installation, ensuring each step was done correctly. After the installation was completed, the system was tested and required additional duct work that took another half days worth of labor to get the airflow within the parameters established for a properly functioning system. They are very professional, punctual and efficient. I have been using them for many years and they have installed the air conditioning unit for me as well. They do a very good job and I am very happy with their quality of service.

From start to finish, this job went very well. The team of 3 was very professional, they called on their way to the house and arrived right on time. They went right to work and had everything they needed to get the job done. When it looked like the humidifier would not be completed by the end of day, the lead installer called back to the office and got the approval for the team to work overtime to finish (no extra cost to me). I've since had other experts, including a trained inspector who is a friend of ours, review the work and state that it was high quality. Furnace has been running well for more than 2 months now. I have not had a need to call for service yet.

They have been servicing my boiler for over 10 years. They are always dependable. When my hot water heater broke suddenly. They responded quickly and were able to replace it within a day.
