K Guard Leaf Free Gutter Systems

We hired K-Guard to replace our gutters with their leaf free gutter system in the fall of 2016. The sales rep came out and looked at our house and did not express any concerns. Our roof is shaped like an "H" so has several internal angles. During light rains, the gutters perform as advertised. During moderate or heavy rains, we get waterfalls at all of the internal angles. I emailed our sales rep about this and he came out and slapped some ugly mesh in the corners that didn't help the issue much. During the next follow up we were told "Sorry, that's just the design of your roof. There's nothing we can do about it." We have just learned to live with it. Fast forward to 2020, the gutters are showing signs of a clog. I can shine a light into them and see the dirt and debris build up under the shield. We called K-Guard to take advantage of their "Lifetime Clog Free Guarantee" only to be told they won't even come out to look at the issue unless we pre-approve a $150 charge if they "determine the issue isn't due to a clog." We spent nearly $15,000 on gutters and this is the kind of value we have received. Avoid this company at all costs.

NEO Roofing aka Dunrite Roofing aka K Guard aka Clog Free Gutters suggested that they had to tear off the section of roof to assure the leaking would stop. Assured me with a 3 year warranty. Roof started leaking again after snow started melting, and they refused to come out to even look at it after a year (1st winter). "We did everything correctly". Well my roof is still leaking in the same spot. Asked for my money back, no money back, did not honor warranty and very arrogant. I hired another roofing company, and they did a fantastic job and my roof does not leak anymore. BUYER BEWARE, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AS THEIR WARRANTIES ARE NOT HONORED, THEY DO TERRIBLE WORK (WASTE OF MONEY) AND THEY HAVE SHADY CONTRACTS. YOU DO NOT HAVE THE OPTION TO OPT OUT WHICH GOES AGAINST THE OHIO CONSUMER PRACTICES ACT.

I contacted K Guard (Dun Rite Exteriors) to inquire about gutter guards. My house has half-round gutters, not the standard white aluminum gutter types. Turns out, K Guard (the product) requires different gutters than my house has. The choice then was to (a) replace all the gutters and then install K-Guard, or (b) install an alternate screen product. I went with (b). The salesman came out, measured and quoted in one visit. The installation was estimated to be +4 weeks out and was scheduled after I committed to the project. Scheduling was handled professionally and the crew ended up being available to come out earlier than promised, about 2-3 weeks after I paid the deposit. Install took a couple of days for the 400 linear feet of gutter screen to be put in. They also cleared a blocked downspout pipe. Other than a few short screws and a few debris scraps left around the perimeter of the house, the crew did a good job cleaning up the site. I had a couple of follow-up items that were addressed quickly. While the price for this screening to be installed was very high in my opinion, the quality of work was good and this is a larger company with bills to pay. I've seen the same screening advertised in other places (like the coupon mailer packs that come to my house every month), but I never bothered comparing prices. These guys were professional, available and they showed up when promised. Not some fly-by-night outift. I'd hire them again.

Work was performed as expected, on time, and looks and works great.

Excellent service, reached out via email and had estimate the same day! Gutters installed within 2 weeks and they kept us informed as to estimated installation day the week before, the week of and the day before. Called prior to arriving and didn't need to be there which was very convenient. Did the job in a timely efficient manner and cleaned up.

After two years the job is still not completed to my satisfaction, and there is no interest or concern to take care of an existing problem. I could not and would not recommend k guard to anyone. The installers were fantastic and it works really great.

It was fantastic. My intention is later on to call them back again and have them do the front of the house, but I don't know when yet. They were very attentive and they just did a great job. The only thing that they didn't do, but I guess they don't normally do that, is put the gutter extension on, so we had to go ahead and buy that.

They are very courteous took time to explain, the gentleman was very helpful. The price was a little high had other quotes that were a little more reasonable but the price was decent for the extra work I wanted done.

I'm not 100% happy but the product is working. The issue we had was with the installation not with the product the products is good. I would tell others to just ake sure the estimator talks to the installers before you agree to the installation.

I was not real happy with their efforts. They do a very good job once they do it. However, they have to be watched as to whether they are meeting all of the qualifications of what their contract is for. In fact, I called them back for maybe $100 or so dollars of extra work, not because I was real happy, but only for the fact that they knew what they were doing. That was 6 months to nine months later. Overall rating is hard to say because I was happy with the product that they sold and the way that they installed it. However, I was not real happy with them. They are the ones that have the leaf guard that goes over the entire gutter and the water just runs off the top, and then kind of circles around and goes into the gutter after the fact. It’s not a screen type affair. The price is $7203 for the spouting. However, the heat cables would run about $1,359, more than what the down spout is.

It turned out pretty good. Just a couple of times we have had to have somebody do our gutters, but most of the time it's pretty good. It was fine. They were very professional. I would tell friends or family that it was a good experience for us. We can't do it anymore so it was helpful.

I am not sure what the price was but it was $15 a foot and our house is two sides of 80 feet each so it would be $15 times 80 feet. I don't know what their price is now. I would say the price was all right because it included installation and everything- removing the old gutter, putting in new hardware whatever and enlarging the downspouts because that included downspouts. They enlarged the holes where the water runs down because at 80 feet of length that's a lot of roof and so the water would spill over the old gutters because it couldn't take the flow. So they made 6" holes instead of the 4" downspouts. It was good quality. Responsiveness was right away. I want to have them put gutters on my barn next - it's a smaller building. The leaves don't get in no matter what happens. It doesn't get stuffed up with anything and nothing sticks to it. We examined all the gutters replacements and we found them not to be the cheapest but the one that works the best. One of their guarantees is that it will transfer over to the next person who buys the house. Another thing is if it ever does get clogged up, even if its midnight on the coldest night of the year, they will come out at midnight or whatever time it is to fix the problem at no charge. We recommend them to all our friends. We point out our new gutters since we are proud of them. The other ones weren't bad. They were white gutters but a little wobbly. These are nice and straight and flat and they give the house a nicer appearance on top of it all. They are totally maintenance free. In fact, if we want to they'll come and no matter how many years pass put some wire that's covered in rubber or something but heat gets thru. They put it in a zigzag fashion in the gutter because the hole is big enough and install a weather proof wire up and down up and down zigzag pattern so it would melt any ice that fell into it and stop any ice formations which can pull your gutters down. The icicles here can form 5 or 6 feet long and they could impale you if they fell on you. We always have to knock them down with a broom. My husband walks around knocking them down like a pinata. Once we get the money to do that we will so he doesn't have to do that.

Very well! The workers, Gene and Russ, worked very efficiently together. They also alerted us to a problem on the roof of a dormer. They completely cleaned up afterwords and took away all trash.

Sales person on time, professional until sale made. Failed at first to leave space shingles had to complain to get them. Would not call back lost another sale able to terrible services and lack of follow-up.

I thought the representative was good. There were some problems solving with an issue with the ventilation but he seemed pretty knowledgeable. It was comparable.

Ever since they've put the gutters and leaf-guards up, we've had issues. Large ice dams keep forming on our roof, and it's very unsafe. The salesman and General Manager called me back and keep making excuses. They have sent the salesman a few times, but they won't send a technician out. They've said it was the pitch of the roof, our insulation, a heat cable we had installed by another contractor (who had told us that the gutters themselves weren't hung right). They're only judging the pitch of the gutter while standing on the ground. The General Manager came up on the garage roof once. I know our contract said we would get icicles, which is fine. The 35 ft long ice dams are very dangerous. They're 8 inches thick, and 4 inches wide. I just want them to fix the issue, and take the leaf guards off. I would like to get my money back, either for just the leaf-guards or the entirety of the system. I will buy brand new gutters if I have to. They've said they'll install another set of heat cables, but it won't fix the issue of the ice dams. I'm just so frustrated, and worried that someone will get seriously hurt or worse. I thought I could trust them, due to their high ratings on Angie's List. I'd stay away from these guys.

Excellent. We had constant gutter blockage problems even with screens after meeting with 3 other companies. We chose K-Guard and are very happy. No more over flowing gutters and ice problems.

They let me use a coupon I had in my book from Angie's List. I'm very happy with the work they did. They did a good job. He didn't even measure the roof. He just looked at it from down below. I asked him how did the roof look. He said, "Not to bad. You can probably get another 5 years on that roof." I said, "Oh good." Then when the guys were here to put the gutters on, I now have to pay to have them take their gutters off because that voids their warranty. So now I have to pay this place extras, to come over and take the things off the gutters. And I probably have to get a new roof. They guy tried to save me money. They did excellent work. Very good, very good quality. I didn't do much shopping, but it was suppose to be about $100 per linear foot. But it was important for me to get it and I didn't want to pay someone to come clean the leaves out of my gutter. But it was worth it. The whole overall experience was pretty good, actually. They cleaned up real well. They did a good job. He was here when they told me they'd be here. It was a very good experience. They picked up everything. They asked me if I wanted anything or if I wanted anything leftover. Very good. I may use them for the roof.

Sales no pressure professional, courteous! Installation team-professional, efficient. Nke answered all my questions. When job was finished they cleaned up all scrap, great job from start to finish.

Went well, clean up was done, and walked around house to show work and explain old gutters were install incorrectly which explained wood rot on picture window.
