Description of Work: Ez Breathe was purchased to remove unidentified odor from basement which Was smelled throughout the house. EZ Breathe failed to remove this odor. I reported this and the original installer came back to check unit. Told me to put it on high which i did. Odor still did NOT go away. Called two housing inspectors. Both said there was not a moisture problem, no mold was seen, no signs inside or outside that moisture was a problem.House is eight years old. Called customer relations and their person came to check. He could not say why odor was still there. Said might need ANOTHER EZ Breathe in crawl space. Said he would check with his boss and get back to me. This never happened. Left two messages. No response. Meanwhile, had Hvac inspected by three companies to see if system was working properly. It was. During this time the pilot light went out because of the pressure imbalance caused by the EZBreathe. HVAC companies recommended an energy audit. Energy audit was set up through Dominion and performed by Goodcents. Audit revealed that air in house was only circulating 2.5 times an hour, when it should have been circulating 3.5 times an hour. Installation of fresh air return was advised. Said EZ Breathe was NOT the solution to getting more fresh air, as it REMOVES air from the basement. Called saleswoman and reported findings of audit. She wanted me to buy ANOTHER system from them in addition to the EZBreathe. I said I was hesitant to buy an additional unit from them when the first one was not solving the problem. She said she would check with her boss and call me Mon. it was Friday.Never heard from her. Meanwhile I scheduled installation of a fresh air intake vent which brings air from outside into the furnace. It worked! My house has no more odor. The air is finally circulating properly. My health has also improved. Now I am left with an unused unneeded $1400.. EZ Breathe unit attached to the basement wall. I have made several attempts to contact the company by phone and by mail. I sent a letter to the saleswoman in early Dec. requesting that she contact me. Received no response. I called the customer relations person who came to my house twice and left a detailed message. Received no follow up that was promised. I called the President of the company who was at a meeting and left a detailed voicemail of the problem. Again received no response. When I first talked to the saleswoman about having an odor of unknown origin in my almost new house,I told her that I had Multiple Chemical Sensitivities and was concerned that the sprayfoam insulation applied a few years earlier in the basement (in the crack at the top of the concrete wall might be the source of the odor. I was very concerned about the possible effects of off gassing. She said that the EZBreathe was just what I needed. I believe that EZ Breathe installers, customer relations person, and saleswoman KNEW from early on that EZBreathe was NOT solving the problem. Even the company president failed to respond to repeated concerns. My attempts to resolve this problem have been totally ignored I have NO faith in the integrity of this company. Ginny Kelleher

I had purchased a new home. The home inspector said I needed 3 dehumidifiers in the basement: Utility, bathroom and recreation rooms. I thought that was silly and would take up a lot of space. I also didn't want to have to empty water all the time, so I did some research on these types of systems. I chose EZ Breathe over others. I had a lot of questions and the company was very helpful. Does it work? Yes, but it has not completely reduced my moisture. Before, system was put in the humidity would be as high as 80. With the EZ Breathe its usually 60, and 50 or less when the heat is on. I believe the air quality is better certainly in the basement. The moldy smell is pretty much gone. In late-spring, early summer, again late-summer, early fall when the heat and air conditioner are off, they say you should run a dehumidifier with the unit. And you do have to.
Description of Work: Purchased the EZ Breathe ventilation system to dehumidify my basement. This system is designed to lower humidity levels and reduce moldy and musty orders. It's a whole home ventilation system that creates an internal and external air exchange to reduce moisture, mold, toxins and poor air quality. It's installed in my basement and vented to the outside.

Description of Work: During the Fall of last year, I was contacted by EZ Breathe regarding their product. I told them that I was very interested in it but that I could not afford the expense at the time and that most of my basement problems were in the Spring. I explained that I was planning on a complete inspection of the basement at that time and would have to defer any purchases until the true nature of my problem could be determined. At that point, I was offered a price good only for October provided I made a downpayment. I did. When the inspection (by another company) determined that my problem was bigger than their product was able to address, I tried to cancel. No refund was available although they did offer to apply my down payment towards an EZ Breathe should I move into a different house.
