I contracted with Weldon snowplowing for the 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 winter seasons. In the spring of 2018 I noticed that the aluminum trim on both sides of the front of my garage were damaged . It should be noted that I drive a small compact car that I park in the center of my two car garage. After showing the damage to some skilled repairmen, it was concluded that due to the height and position of the damage, only a snowplow could have caused this issue. I contacted Mike Weldon at the beginning of May regarding this situation. I left him a detailed message about the damage however he never returned my call. I continued to call and leave messages until he finally responded during the second week of July. Mike’s immediate response without actually seeing the damage was that it could not have been caused by his plow. He agreed to come to my house to inspect the damage. He finally showed up during the first week of September and again told me that he didn’t think his plow caused the damage. I responded by telling him that there was no other possible way that anything else could have damaged my garage. At that point, Mike Weldon told me that he would send out his siding/garage repairman to look at the damage. This never happened. My garage remains damaged and Mike Weldon has completely ignored the entire situation. Mike Weldon has proven himself to be totally irresponsible and untrustworthy. I hope that any potential or existing customer of Weldon Snowplowing reads this complaint/review and understands the potential risks of dealing with this company.

As a result of my being the victim in a serious car accident in June, I regret not having posted this complaint against Weldon Landscaping sooner. I first met Mike Weldon in the fall of 2016 in regards to snowplowing for myself along with seven other of my neighbors. Mike Weldon appeared to be a very responsible person so we all contracted with him for the 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 winter seasons. With the exception of one neighbor, there were no issues with his work. In the spring of 2018, I decided to have Mike Weldon do landscaping work at my house. The job entailed spring clean-up, weed removal, shrub trimming, edging shrub beds, spraying bed areas for weed prevention, and putting down new mulch. The work was completed in mid May after which time our nightmare began. Mike’s crew dumped the new black mulch against the entire length of the side of my house staining my vinyl siding. In addition, there were black handprints on the side and rear areas of my house. I showed this damage to Mike’s workers who said that they wound clean off my siding. Mike Weldon left my house and did not return. Not only did Mike’s workers leave my house without cleaning my siding, they also failed to remove debris from an area on the side of my house. I should mention the fact that not only was I stressed out and shocked about the quality of the job Mike Weldon had done, I also found out on the same day that my wife was diagnosed with a very serious medical issue. I should have done a better job of inspecting the work before I paid the bill. At that time I sincerely felt that Mike Weldon would stand behind his work. After contacting Mike the next day, he said he would return on the following Saturday or Monday depending on the weather. He never showed up or called. I spent weeks calling and leaving messages without any response. My wife and I noticed Mike pulling up at a neighbor’s house sometime during the month of August. As we walked towards him to confront him about our issues, he got into his truck and left. In late August Mike sent one of his workers over to inform me that he would be returning to clean my siding with a degreaser. It never happened. I waited until September and was forced to clean the siding myself. Aside from the siding issue I should mention the fact that the entire job that Mike Weldon completed for me was substandard. A large area was not cleaned up, weed killer was not put down, shrubs were not trimmed properly, and the black mulch that was put down started to fade within one month of installation. It should be noted that I have had other landscapers complete the same job without any issues in the past. I am not an overly picky person who is hard to please. All I did was decide to give my snowplowing contractor a chance to make more money. What I expected in return was a good job. My main concern in posting this complaint about Weldon Landscaping is to caution other unsuspecting home owners from hiring an irresponsible contractor with no integrity like Mike Weldon to do work on their homes. We certainly did not deserve this kind of treatment. If things had gone well I would have promoted Mike’s Landscaping business like I did his snowplowing business. For those of you that have read some positive reviews on Weldon Landscaping just remember, if it happened to me it could happen to you. A trustworty contractor will stand behind the quality of his work and correct any problem issues in a timely manner. My siding despite my cleaning attempt still remains stained. Did not go very good. The stakes that are put in, mean little to the drivers. I had a patch 20 feet long by 2 feet deep that I had to pay to get fixed even though Mike saw it in April and said it would be fixed. He never fixed it. I used him the year before and had no problem at all. I don't understand how he could go from doing so good to doing so bad.

I needed a one time leaves removal at the end of Fall (after I had done it myself during the rest of the season). Two guys came and worked for one hour. I was pretty happy with the results. I wasn’t happy with the invoice I received which was for 3 guys and 1.5 hours of work (making the bill twice what I actually should have paid). I’m not sure if it was an honest mistake, or someone was counting on me not being home to keep track. Either way, Mike’s response was beneath satisfying basically telling me to pay “what I want” as if I’m trying to scam him and included hanging up in my face. No apologies for the blown up bill, no affirmation that he will look into the matter to make sure it won’t happen again. Is this how a professional handles his business? Very disappointed.

Delayed complaint but time hasn’t made me less upset. Mike Weldon plowed my driveway winter 2016. He did a good job for snow plowing. My previous landscaper was excellent but only cut grass. Mike said not only would he cut grass, but he would trim the bushes/trees, and fertilize the grass thus making it easier for me. I hired him and he told me to call him upon my return from vacation to set a date to trim the evergreens and he would cut the grass while I was gone. My only request was that upon my return I would need the day of the week he would cut grass so I could make sure my dogs were not in the yard. I called him on May 1, 2017 to schedule a time to trim the evergreens and to find out why my grass had not been cut. He never returned any of my calls nor did he respond to my messages. Not only was it very unprofessional, but it left me scrambling to find someone else. If he wasn’t able to or didn’t want to do my landscaping, he should have the decency to tell me. The whole situation is unacceptable for a person in business, especially since I had been a prior customer for snow plowing.

Weldon Landscaping started with clean-up at the beginning of the season. My husband and I were very impressed with how well they did. The lawn looks great each week and you can definitely tell they edged. So far, I'm very glad we use Weldon for our lawn.

I was very happy with their snowplowing service. They left a quote with their information at my house and requested it be payed in two payments. The driveway was always plowed before work and in the evening. The contract stated they would plow anytime there was 2 inches or more of snow and they always followed that rule. I chose not to pay for any hand shoveling or salting, but still felt like their service was well worth the money. I would recommend they create a website to make their contact information more available. It would also be much more convenient if they accepted credit cards (I didn't ask, but it was not an advertised option). Overall, I was extremely happy.
