It took a couple of months for him to start on the window trim, and he did finish the metal part, leaving bits of metal everywhere in the yard. He was supposed to return to caulk them but never did. He asked for $600 in advance to buy materials to build the door but a door never materialized. He returned calls at first, saying he was out of the country, and we gave him plenty of time to come through. He finally stopped answered phone calls or texts, and we haven’t heard from him since.
Description of Work: We needed aluminum covers made for the external window trim, and a replacement back door made for the garage.

I had to move quickly, was going through a divorce and needed work done at the property to which I was moving. The most urgent item was erecting a fence for my dogs. Jeff met me at the property and we discussed a number of items I wanted done. He spoke about the big projects he's done for large corporations and assured me he could get the work done prior to my deadline. Jeff told me he needed a deposit to get started. Because I didn't want any delays, I gave him a $1,200 deposit without anything in writing. He missed every promised deadline and each time I contacted him, he turned the situation around saying he would get the work done if I stopped bothering him. I continued to contact him because nothing was getting done and he hadn't done anything to move the work forward. He was rude and extremely unprofessional. I kept on him and he finally provided me with a day he'd be out to begin erecting the fence. I couldn't be present the day he was scheduled to be out and when arrived at the property, Jeff was not there, but there were holes throughout my lawn. I called him and was told that a fence could not be erected on my property - no one would be able to install fencing because of tree roots. After he told me he couldn't proceed with the fencing, I requested that my deposit be returned. He first said he would refund the deposit. When a week passed and I received nothing from him, I contacted him again and he told me he did the work and was owed the money. Because he spent time making holes all over my property, he believed he should be paid. By the way, he left the holes throughout my lawn. Holes that created a liability for me. I continued to contact him and on one call, he indicated that he visited his lawyer and would be sending me the invoice for the money due to him, and indicated that I would receive a check for the remaining portion of the deposit. I never received any of my deposit back. Jeff is dishonest and anything but honorable. Beware.

Per Jeff Smith's request we paid for materials in advance of the start of the project. He completed some of the minor work but never returned to build the trellis. He did a lousy job repairing the ceiling but said it was the best he could do. He will not return calls, will not respond to text and emails. He refuses to return the money we paid him for materials. It's been a year. This has been an awful experience.
Description of Work: Build trellis, minor electrical work, repair ceiling from water damage.

Terrible. Before starting, Jeff wanted a check for $500. I did so. The next day he told me he could not deposit the check (made out to him, not his company) in his account. He wanted cash. I refused, wrote him a check for $500 on a different account and he deposited it within 24 hours. He began work soon after this. He did many of the chores, but did not clean up. He left old outlet boxes, wire clippings, dust, paint, plaster, and wires on the floors in every room he worked in (dining, living, third floor bedroom, my grand daughter's room (she is 7). I cleaned after he left. The next day he asked for an addition $500. I wrote him another check. I told him about the lack of cleaning up (I have never had a workman not clean up.) He told me he doesn't do that. He doesn't clean up dust. Or plaster. Or wire. He left the house unsafe for children and adults the first day. On this day he finished his work for the day and was cleaner, but did not complete the job. He asked for the remaining amount and was paid in full. A followup service date was missed. He has not answered my email or phone call. HE HAS NOT COMPLETED THE WORK EVEN THOUGH HE WAS PAID IN FULL. HE NEVER SENT A RECEIPT THOUGH HE SAID HE WOULD.
Description of Work: 3 light fixtures (replace, check not working) 5 baseboard outlets to be replaced with grounded outlets Review of circuit breaker box/wiring concerned about overloading of existing circuits all on same circuit Refrigerator & kitchen baseboards; Dining Room baseboards and ceiling light; Upstairs Study (front-north room) ceiling and baseboard (note the computer and printer run here)

Jeff did a fantastic job. He instantly made me feel comfortable that he knew what he was doing. Took the time to explain problems with the old panels and the changes he made to the electrical system as he was doing it. Didn't rush through the job at all. He even helped me troubleshoot a buzzing we were hearing with a ceiling fan. I would highly recommend him in the future and would use him again as needed.
Description of Work: Needed new electrical panels to replace old Federal Pacific panels.

Great. 1) Owner knows what he's doing. 2) He cares that you're happy with the work, and the end result is good. That's not easy to find these days.

Jeff did a great job on my master bathroom remodel. It was a big job where he had to remove a wall, a surround shower, old tiles and move the plumbing for the shower head as part of it. He helped me come up with ideas to make my bathroom look HUGE. I was really pleased with the result.
